  1. Again, I'm not seeing the detriment to having this capability-to the PCC shooter, how is this a negative?
  2. I did in fact contact them and in my opinion they are the best on working with customers and answering questions. I can't recommend them more and their products are awesome. He told me what to do but I may wait a bit to see if I really want to use his recommendations. It's simple to do but I may not need to worry about this feature. I need more time on the gun.
  3. Again, all great responses-thanks! I have a POF buffer tube installed with a .308 JP carbine spring and a Blitzkrieg heavy duty hydraulic 9mm buffer and the gun is VERY smooth. I did have their weight installed on top of the buffer but I found that for me I got a bit more bounce when the rifle went back into battery so I took the weight back out...
  4. The magazines seem to go in a lot easier when the bolt is open though...
  5. Yeah, I've run three different ETS 40 round mags during my build testing and they work flawlessly as far as not jamming. The weird thing I'm referring to is that when I MANUALLY cycle the bolt it will lock back on ALL OF THE MAGS if I hold the rifle vertically but will NOT lock back all the time if I hold the rifle horizontally. I've noticed that the bolt hold open catch does NOT have a lot of spring tension on it. I've compared the spring tension of the bolt release on my 9mm PCC to all of my other AR's and it's noticeably less than my other AR's. Not sure how to increase this on the FM lower.....
  6. Maybe this will narrow it down a bit-if I hold the rifle vertically, the bolt will lock back on all of the mags and if I hold the rifle horizontally, it does not lock the bolt back. What do I need to look at. Again, it's a FM lower.
  7. Why? At my skill level it really doesn't matter but it seems to me that it takes more time to cycle a slide if you run it empty AND a full magazine inserts easier if the bolt it open so what's the issue?
  8. All of the Glock mags are brand new............. In fact, ALL of the mags are brand new.
  9. I built a 9mm PCC using a FM-9 lower and the build has been 100% EXCEPT...... When I use factory Glock 33 rnd mags the bolt will not lock back, HOWEVER, when I use ETS mags, the bolt locks back every time as I want it to.... I'm new to this PCC stuff and I'm confused as to why the FACTORY Glock mags WON'T lock back and the ETS mags do...... I know there's discussion about locking back, not locking back, but at this stage I want it to. I'm really confused as to why the factory mags won't do it but the aftermarket ones will.....
  10. Thanks for all the responses-they're all awesome! My past training makes it automatic to place my trigger finger parallel to the barrel so that's what I'll be doing. I'm a Lefty so I can see that extra caution will be required when transitioning from left to right, heck I don't even like it with my pistol! I will definitely have to drop the butt out of my shoulder position to transition to the right or I will certainly have an issue with (where I shoot) 45 deg rule. It's not that you'd get a DQ but they definitely talk to you about it..... Thanks for all the advice, it's much appreciated!!!! Copterdrvr
  11. HAH! Naah, that was added for effect regarding a manual safety!
  12. Rather than trying to dig through a bunch of rule stuff, I figure I could save a lot of time by asking here as there are obviously a bunch of USPSA PCC shooters here. I'm going to shoot my PCC this week for the first time in a local USPSA club and my question is simple-when I move from position to position do I have to have to put the rifle on SAFE before moving? Considering the fact that I do not have to apply the safety on my Canik TP9SFX when moving, I'm assuming it's the same procedure with the rifle, i.e. trigger finger must be outside the trigger guard and laid against the receiver???? Thanks for the reply's, Copterdrvr
  13. I talked to the owner of CMC and he made me a 2.5 pound, straight trigger for my PCC and it is AWESOME! No reset issues and have not had any kind of failure of the rifle in over 700 rounds of all KINDS of ammo. I have a 3.5 lb CMC in my other PCC and it has been exactly the same-no reset issues, works every time I pull the trigger. The 3.5 lb trigger is in a left hand Stag and the 2.5 lb trigger is in a gun I built myself using an inexpensive ABC upper and bolt and a FM9 lower. Couldn't be happier with CMC.
  14. Was the new chamber cut deeper? What was their excuse?
  15. I have an aftermarket light mounted on my Dillon 550B and if I double charge with my current light load it will fit in the case but just barely so it's pretty easy to see if something is wrong.
  16. HAH! That's hilarious!!!! We ALL know there are an unbelievable number of clueless MORONS out there but COME ON--I find it hard to believe this one!!!!
  17. Wow! That HAS to be a barrel manufacturer demonstrating how "tough" his barrels are and if actually fired rounds, must be REALLY light! Cool marketing idea if that's the case.
  18. THREE bullets in the barrel???????????? YIKES!!!!!!!! Would love to know what load your friend was using when he blew up his Glock.....
  19. Without alittle more info this doesn't help much. Was it because he had a squib load and fired another round behind it? I saw a clip of a guy shooting a Glockin a USPSA match and got caught up in the stage and put another round down the tube after a squib-blew the hell out of the pistol.
  20. Sounds good. The 2.8 gr load hits steel at 100 yards with a 6 inch hold over so I'm sure I won't have to worry about one not making it out of the barrel. I think I'll chrono it tomorro and see what it's doing. Thanks for the reply!.
  21. First off-HAH!!! I've been reloading up a storm lately and have put together a bunch of.223, .224 Valkyrie and 6mm Creedmoor ammo using BERGER bullets. I use BERRY bullets for my pistol reloading! The burn chart came from /loaddata.com/Article/burnratecharts/powder-burn-rate-chart. Good chart that had all of my powders listed EXCEPT for IMR 4451. It's one of the powders I use in the 6 Creedmoor. That's OK, it's on my old chart and it falls right between IMR 4350 and Hodgdon H 4350. The chart follows your input as it has Select at 19, SP at 21 and Green Dot as 24....
  22. Update-I found the info! Sport Pistol is number 21 on the chart and H110/296 is 87 and 88 so I guess SP is pretty fast.. Thanks for the info!!!
  23. Yeah, I don't know where Sport Pistol falls into the fast-slow powder burn charts......the last one I printed didn't even have Sport Pistol on it and it wasn't that long ago. Update-I found the info! Sport Pistol is number 21 on the chart and H110/296 is 87 and 88 so I guess SP is pretty fast.. Thanks for the info!!!
  24. Has anyone heard of any issues with really light PCC 9mm loads that "blew up" instead of igniting properly? I'm loading 2.8 grains of Sport Pistol with 115 grain Bergers and they function in both of my PCC rifles just fine, shooting about two inch groups at 25 yards and throwing the empties about four feet. I don't know of anyone that experienced it but I've read about it over the years and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it. I'll admit there's not alot of powder in the case and I'm not even sure if it's something that can happen with modern smokeless powder... From what I remember hearing was that it had to do with the primer flash hole not being completely covered with powder when the primer ignites but it's been a while since I've heard anything about it..
