  1. One of my Glock 33 round mags will rattle when I load it to 30 rounds. None of my other Glock 33 rd mags do that. Is this an indicator that the magazine will have feeding issues?
  2. Well, I'm a dumb @ss! The problem was I somehow screwed up my powder drop adjustment and was not dropping the appropriate amount of powder as in too light. The part that faked me out was that when the gun would fire it would eject the fired case without any problem AT ALL so a powder issue never entered my mind. I took a different batch of reloads this morning and no matter how fast I pulled the trigger, they all went bang and I mean I slapped the trigger as fast as I possibly could-sounded like a damned machine gun! I had one mag left over of the previous batch of reloads and they had numerous failures to reset. When they fired, the empty cases would eject just fine. Again, my only defense was that when they fired they ejected just fine...... Think I'll be alittle more cautious when I set up my powder charge now!!!! What a maroon!!!! (Bugs Bunny days!)
  3. The trigger resets as it should. I installed a new 3.5 lb CMC trigger that I just unboxed and the reset is significantly stronger. I think I figured out the issue and it's I'm sure my doing. I shoot USPSA and I also shoot a Canik TP9SFX 9mm pistol that is tweaked and has an awesome aftermarket trigger with a super short reset. If I make the effort of completely breaking contact with my trigger finger and the trigger on the PCC I have zero issues. It's obvious I can't ride the trigger on the PCC like I can with the pistol. Ive been shooting the pistol for about a year now and I just started shooting the PCC- I'm obviously going to have to learn to shoot each firearm differently. Is it typical that AR-9 triggers require a little more movement to reset?
  4. Installed a CMC trigger in my FM9 lower that CMC modded for me to 2.5 pounds. Put about 1200 rounds through it without issue. This is my first PCC and my speed is really starting to finally pick up. Last match I had five or six times when I was really blazing at targets within 10 feet and had to cycle bolt to get a round off. A round was in the chamber and there was no indication of any primer strike whatsoever on any of the ejected rounds. I'm also shooting a REALLY light load. I already talked to CMC and they said send it back because they have a lifetime warranty but I have some questions to the knowledge base here for informational purposes only. The gun goes bang the VAST majority of the time and cycles perfectly UNTIL I start to really push it fast. After my discussion with CMC I know that one of the mods done to get a 2.5 lb trigger is to lighten up the disconnector spring. Would a lighter disconnector spring cause reset problems, especially if I might be riding the trigger a bit, during a fast string? would a light load amplify the reset issue? CMC did say that I could have reset issues when I asked them to do a 2.5 lb trigger for me so I think I'll have them set it up for the normal 3.5 lb. If I don't ride the trigger it works perfectly but my old, slow fingers just don't get off the trigger fast enough during a fast run.
  5. I have five or six Mentium free float handguards and they ALL fit perfectly. I see some of the prices for other handguards that are available and I wouldn't even THINK of blowing the money that I'd have to pay for some of them. The handguard is NOT going to make me shoot any better if I match the handguard to the application. Mentium has plenty of options and spending over two hundred dollars for something that can be used for less than 70 dollars is strange to me...
  6. I just loaded some CCI small magnum primers in case I had to use them and fortunately I ran into 5 bricks of small rifle primers (CCI) that will go along with all the other primers I have to use on a regular basis. Good thing is they worked without issue in my PCC but did NOT work in my Canik SFX. it has a Ghost 6.5 striker spring and it didn't light them off. My friend was there with his stock SFX with a striker spring that would launch a bolt into the stratosphere and his didn't light off the mag primers either..... t
  7. Tried some small rifle MAGNUM primers yesterday as a test in my PCC that has a 2.5 pound CMC AR9 trigger and they all went bang without issue.
  8. Actually, that's a pretty darned good guess!!!! If it's not a barrel ring, what the heck else could it be.
  9. That makes it even stranger to me to think that the bullet makes it 14 inches down the barrel and THEN leaves a very narrow ring of lead in it...................
  10. This. That is a heck of a weird place to have a lead deposit and in that specific pattern, ESPECIALLY if there isn't any lead anywhere else in the barrel.
  11. Interesting-I thought that the black finish WAS the Nitride coating. How does it penetrate what is seen as "raw" steel? Barrel interior looks exactly like all of my other firearms that do not have any coating, i.e. bare metal. Before I cleaned it, it did not look like bare metal. The barrel is the Faxon 16 inch barrel that has the muzzle brake machined (and not removable) on the end of the barrel blank that gives it an overall length of 16 inches.
  12. Thanks for all the great info!!!! I'm loading a light Sport Pistol load with a 115 grn plated bullet.
  13. As I'm sure you're all aware, it is impossible to find any small pistol primers. Has anyone found any issues with using MAGNUM small pistol primers in their normal loads????
  14. Received the barrel yesterday-scrubbed it out good with a bore brush and Bore Tech solvents and it functioned perfectly and ran my old ammo without a hitch shooting five shot groups at 15 yards that you could cover with a quarter and thats without any load development. My old 147 grn loads at 1.50 would plunk test without a big issue.... After running my TESLONG bore scope through the barrel there was ZERO evidence of any nitride finish left in the interior of the barrel.....
  15. I'm running a POF buffer tube using a JP AR15 rifle buffer spring and a Blitzkrieg HD buffer and it functions perfectly! It does NOT allow the bolt to contact the back of the lower receiver and functions perfectly.
  16. Yeah, I always do a plunk test, I was just curious if anyone had tried that particular oal and if it worked in a Faxon barrel.
  17. Excellent info-thanks! I'm currently loading a 115 grn Berry at 1.130-do you think I will have a problem with that as far as plunk test in the Faxon barrel?
  18. Thanks for the response! I was afraid that it might make the chamber a little "tighter" because of the coating. I know it's very thin but was just wondering if anyone had any issues with the extra "thickness" of the coating. I ordered the barrel with the muzzle brake that is machined as part of the barrel-is that the one you have? Wondering if the brake does any good......... Thanks for your reply!!!!! Copterdrvr
  19. I purchased a Faxon 9mm barrel and it says the inside has the same Nitride finish as the outside does. Has anyone found that the finish in the chamber causes any issues with not cycling properly? Was wondering if I need to polish the finish out of the chamber for better cycling reliability......
  20. I have a Devil Dog on my PCC and it works great and makes charging much easier for me. DD says it weighs five ounces with the standard knob which is what I'm using.
  21. Well, you were right about the ETS mag difference FOR SURE. I know have three of the 40 round and four of the 31 round ETS mags and they ALL lock the bolt back with no issues whatsoever. Thanks for the info!
