  1. Been noodling around several company websites but not clear which of them offer 9mm with ramped barrels... any ideas which companies do this? thanks!
  2. Is that clear plastic strip there to protect your thumb from slide serrations?
  3. Wondering if there's any downside to using the Federal #100M match primer vs. the regular #100's? Are the match primers just as soft as regular 100's? I've got a line on some 100M's, but wanted to check with you guys first! Thanks! Mark
  4. So if you change grip modules, the serial number stays put somewhere on the remaining chassis, right?
  5. I am curious though, what were the problems with the M9 which warranted a wholesale replacement?
  6. Does it have a Series 70 or 80 trigger?
  7. Does this gun have a ramped barrel?
  8. Considering getting my lifter welded and wanted feedback on which smith can do this fairly quickly (and hopefully cost effective as well) Thoughts? Mark...
  9. Lodi, Wisconsin has a pretty active 3 gun and action pistol program... but it's about 160 miles from O'Hare.
  10. I appreciate the feedback, but I'm specifically looking for a shooter friendly eye doc in my area. Anyone???
  11. I'd like to find out if that rear sight can be fitted on an SP-01...
  12. I'm in the 'burbs of Chicago, just west of O'hare. Looking for recommendations for an optometrist in the area who is knowledgeable on the specific needs of shooters. I'm 50+, facing typical age-related issues with front sight focus vs. target, etc. Any suggestions on a good doc? Thanks! Mark
  13. From the MISS website: Due to space and time constraints, registration is limited to: USPSA competitors that have earned a classification in any USPSA division. -or- By prior arrangement. Unverified individuals will not be allowed to compete (and be refunded their match fees...) I don't have a classifcation, so appears I'm SOL...
  14. I'm located up near O'Hare airport. Wondering if there are any reasonably local indoor matches/leagues/etc Doesn't have to be "formal" IDPA, IPSC, etc. Just looking to work on some skills during off season. Mark
  15. So you're saying that the "extended" refers not to depth of primer strike?
  16. I actually took a little off the sear, off the 'foot' of the FPB lifter and the trigger bar where it picks up the lifter to get it that short. On my SP 01 I machined the ledge on the firing pin that catches the FPB down to .018 thick so that the FPB needs less travel to clear it, then shortened the foot on the lifter to remove the excess travel. Makes the reset pretty sweet. Czhase, by chance do you have a photo or illustration of where exactly you machined the ledge? And when you refer to the "foot" of the fpb lever, are you referring to the part which interacts with the trigger bar or the part of the lever which interacts with the block itself (the part residing in the slide)?
  17. Does anyone have specs on how much the firing pin protrudes from the breech face with stock fp vs. an aftermarket extended firing pin?
  18. Ok, so I'm starting to shop trigger upgrade parts for a stock SP-01 non-Shadow with FPB, manual safety and night sights. I called David at CGW the other morning to chat briefly about a parts list. He seemed a bit pre-occupied, mumbled something about getting 40 calls a day about this topic and told me to just buy his defensive carry package part #75110. When looking at the parts list pictures, since the written description doesn't specify the exact parts included, I wanted to verify this package would have everything I need for this tuneup. Any guidance from the field on suitability/completeness of the 75100 package? Would I need to add anything else when placing the order? Thanks! Mark
  19. Is that a "for sure" thing re: DW offering this in a 9? Would be sweet!
