  1. FWIW, thumb on top of the safety. It feels pretty natural. Experiment and see what works best for you, though.
  2. Oh man that could have been so much worse! Thanks for posting what happened to you as a cautionary tale. I hope your recovery is quick and complete, JM. All the best.
  3. Welcome to the forum, Kingjames3507! Enjoy the new challenge and good luck.
  4. Everything stays in range bag except pistols. Pistols get cleaned & re-lubed..placed in the dry inner range bag sleeves....into safe.
  5. In 9? ACME or Bayou 124. SNS or BBI 125's. Any of these that are available for the best price delivered.
  6. +1. Easy & works great! If you go back and forth between Major & Minor it is super handy. Bayou 140TCG at 1.180 with 4.4gr WST made 140PF out of mine (5" bbl). Same load with Bayou 180TCG ran 168PF.
  7. I have several CR Speed Hi Torque belts with Tek Loks on them and they fit quite well. Easy to lock down and minimal movement, but I also always use velcro on the back of the Tek Loks. Don't have any of the "Deluxe" models, so I can't say how fitment is on those.
  8. And the ability to seat them exactly (and smoothly) where I want them, which comes most into play with 40
  9. I prefer grooveless coated for these folks... ACME: 230RN-45, 200SWC-45, 180FP-NLG-40, 124RN-9 Bayou: 225TC-45, 180TCG-40, 165TCG-40, 124TCG-9 BBI: 230RN-45, 180-40, 165-40, 147-9, 125-9 SNS: 230RN-45, 200SWC-45, 180RN-FP-40, 165RN-FP-40, 125RN-9
  10. Looks like you will be prepared. Enjoy it. Welcome to the forum, Viking84!
  11. I like the EB magazine releases and have installed several. They DO require minor fitting, which is what you want. Plug & play means too loose and you could have done better. Relieve the new catch only enough so that your mags can be inserted (in a quick motion) with reasonable force...then polish it up. Don't go crazy sanding/filing because the final polishing will make a fair difference. Ensure your mags drop smoothly free with button depressed.
  12. Did you take apart/clean the recoil assembly in the stock and use a very light viscosity lube? FP-10, M1 0w- _, or BreakFree CLP work well. It is a bit tougher the first time because you will need to heat up the cap enough to release the Loc-Tite.
  13. I say it should go back to the mothership. Let them correct it.
  14. For 9mm specifically? At 1.15 compared to another at 1.12 should be modestly slower, but it all depends on the variables/components used.
  15. Pressure, yes. Velocity, likely. There is a fair difference in my 40 long loads and standard 40 loads. Can not use the exact same recipes. I need to bump up the charge wt. by a couple of tenths when working up final loads to be close in PF. What kind of difference in OAL are we talking about?
  16. Which Shockbottle CG are you using? Just the standard or do you have a 40L or 40XL?
  17. 0-40 because that is what I have in the garage. More zinc too. Works great, but I am sure others would also.
  18. Have not layed hands on any new FED100's in over a year. Found some 150's, but no 100's! Just buying what I can get.

    BE-86

Will need to look, but I want to say it wasn't that great.

    BE-86

    Coated 230RN (ACME) under 5.6gr BE-86 ran (avg) 818fps at 1.250" in 5" bbl...dialed it down to 5.2gr and got 790fps, which was still 181PF. BE-86 has got some speed. I liked it in 40 & 9 better: Coated 180TCG (Bayou) under 5.4gr BE-86 was 169PF for me at 1.180" 5" bbl. 9mm: Coated 124RN (ACME) under 4.6gr BE-86 avg 996fps 1.120" 5" bbl.
  21. I prefer coated to be grooveless . Seating is smooth, neck tension is good... and COL is exactly where I want. More of an issue with 40 loaded long, but I tend to seek out all coated exclusively in grooveless now. Unless I get a killer deal!
  22. Deceptive site warn on Chrome/WIN 7 again, as of a few minutes ago.
