Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I'm glad to have finally met people who suffer wit the same problem I have! I began competing last year and got hooked on the sport! I find myself depressed or feeling down when I have a not so perfect run! Guys, I tell everyone I'm training to win! So I demand performance! Anyway, I was beginning to think I was alone in this emotional problem of getting down and depressed after not placing where I felt i should have, bad stage, etc !
  2. I've been competing for about 8 months now in USPSA, I'm now shooting both USPSA and IDPA, prior to that I had zero competition experience! Typically we have anywhere between 40-70 shooters at a USPAS Match. I'd say over the past two months we've had an increase of at least 20 more competitors coming to compete. Don't know if it's the warmer weather, new shooters trying the sport out,,or what? Anyway, with 40-50 competitors we begin at 0900 and finish about 1:30 pm. With 70 competitors we are there until just after 2:00 pm.? I wish the competitors would be a bit more attentive to taping and resetting targets! I'm guilty of chatting when we should be taping,,but being at the range until 1:30-2:00 makes for a long day! I have RO'd Scored and taped at the same time! So, I don't feel guilty if I get busy chatting instead of taping! It would be nice to rip right through each stage, but I got so hooked into USPSA and IDPA I guess it's not too bad?! As I mentioned ealier I just began the USPSA and IDPA thing about 8 months ago, knew zero about the sport prior! I am addicted to the excitement, competition, reloading, and the excitement of the next and up and coming match!
  3. NRA has a backpack for $119.00 for the price, I don't think it can be beat! http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/ProductDetail.aspx?c=10&p=SA+494&ct=e
  4. Ok guys I've been using a GOPRO to record my matches, have it attached by the helmet strap! It is a bit bulky but has done a great job recording 1st person! I just bought a Contour 2 and I'm looking for a head strap for it! Yes, I know they sell one for $45 bucks but I'm looking for one cheaper? Any suggestions or ideas about mounting it to my hat, etc? My plan is to tripod mount the GOPRO and use the Contour mounted to my hat, or headphones! Any suggestions from those of you who use the Contour, ideas of the best way to mount it? And is there a cheaper headband available that will work? Thanks,
  5. I'm shooting a Glock 34 which has the "ICE " magwell. I initially looked down towards the butt of my pistol as I watched he'd the magazine being inserted! I have found by practicing without looking down, focusing in on my next target. I am quicker to re-engage!
  6. I have a Glock 34 with a factory barrel. I'm using Xtreme bullets, 147 grain. I'm thinking about getting a KKM barrel and then casting my own bullets? My Glock 34 has roughly 8,000 rds through it and I have not had a single stove pipe, ftf, fte, etc ... I'm shooting limited and having a great time with my Glock!

  14. Welcome - I'm from San Luis Obispo. I have been competing 5 months USPSA & IDPA. Bought the Remington Versa Max Comp. Tactical and have competed in a tactical shotgun match...I have been focusing in on my pistol training for the most part...Like you, was initially at the bottom of the pack. Mid pack now and wanting to inch my way up into the top 10. You should come to SAN LUIS OBISPO and compete, if you haven't already...Hogue Range is off Hwy 1. Google SLOSA or San Luis Obispo shooting association!
  15. Nimitz - I needed to hear your posts! Been competing 5 months. Attempting to focus on certain aspects to improve. Thanks for the direction and advice!
