Buddy of mine runs a 650 with a casefeeder and Mr. Bulletfeeder and that thing flies.

You'll get better the more matches you shoot. Every one here has pointed out some good tips. But when the buzzer goes off, all bets are off. You might have a jam, have to make up shots, forget a target, etc. The only thing that can get you to where you want to be is more experience. Some of the things you worry about now will become muscle memory (like reloading, keeping your finger of the trigger, etc.). When that happens, you're going to be able to focus more on the course of fire and thinking on the fly when your plan gets derailed.

My goals are more long term. One classification step per year.

I hate you! I have 25 more years of work to look forward too... LOL!

I have a Dillon and I can get consistent measurements of TG. The most it would vary is by 0.1 grains. It does tend to stick to the sides even on a Dillon. Definitely something going on with yours.

Thanks echo! I emailed them and they told me that it (D01300 serial) has the v2 board. Haven't used it in an actual match but sending it back for the v3 board.Email c-more with your ser # and they will tell you what you have.

Welcome Nick! I swear every time someone introduces themselves here, I feel like I'm in an AA meeting. Oh wait, we are... two Alpha! LOL!

Practice the Bill drill with the gun you'll compete with. Those are two very different platforms so you're going to do yourself a disservice if you practice on the Glock and shoot your 2011.

Amen to that! That's what ended up happening to me. I think I might have even spent more because I had to stock up on reloading components. [emoji16]The bottom line is you don't save a dime... you are just able to shoot more for the same price.
-
I use both... Like others are saying, it depends on the stage. As far as reliability, in my experience, they are the same.

While the Spartan was not great (what do you want for the price break), the Rock Island 9MM was far below the Spartan.
You are correct. In stock form the Spartan was better as it was a Rock Island with STI internals. STI actually uses the Armscor frame and slide (hence it's made in the Philippines) for the Spartan. Most of us here don't run our pistols stock. So the closest you can get to an STI Spartan is to buy a Rock Island 1911 9mm and putting in STI internals.
-
Look at the Armscor/Rock Island 1911 9mm's those are the same thing.

Exactly! Even if you're not trying (ahem! sandbagging), you'll get an Alpha instead of that intentional miss... [emoji16]Be careful WHAT YOU WISH FOR. When you are ready, it will just happen.

More than likely your reloads. My M&P9 Pro Series shoots like shit with 124 Xtremes CPRNs. Feed it the 124 Xtreme hollow points and it's accurate as heck. Greater than 15 yards don't expect too much of it. Bench it and see what it does with different loads. My experience in terms of accuracy is HP > FP > RN.

Welcome Todd!

RTS2 #D01800 has the clear lens and RTS2 #D01300 has the bluish lens. Others are correct that the newer ones have the clear lens.
-
Anyone know how to tell if your RTS2 has the v3 board? I ordered one directly from C-More (Serial # D01800 series) been using it two months at local matches and two level 2 matches and not one problem. Bought another one from Brownell's as it was on sale to put on my other open gun and WTF the Serial # is D01300 series--lower than the one I got from C-More. Mine are both 6 MOA. Just curious what Serial # the bad ones have???

Belt/Pants Riding Up on Draw
in Gear & Accessories

I think someone mentioned it might be the way you have to draw your gun with your particular setup. Some setups are finicky and like a straight up draw. Others are forgiving and it doesn't matter what angle you draw.
