Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. im in the same place as you. I ordered my first M&P off gunbroker with the Apex Forward Set Aluminum Trigger kit in it so I could shoot ESP. Sadly enough the club in the town im moving to is ditching IDPA and only doing USPSA. Guess I'll have to suck it up and shoot limited or limited 10. It's my first M&P so don't know if I can just swap out the visible trigger and shoot it in production.
  2. There is USPSA up in vinegar bend AL. We also shoot IDPA in Cantonment , FL. There used to be more stuff over in Biloxi/ocean springs Mississippi area as well. They do two gun at k&m in baker FL but that's a good 2 hours or so away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I'll be running my Springfield Range Officer Compact in CCP. It's what I carry but having to run against the little tricked out G19s.....
  4. Those reasons seem like the biggest pull for justification ever but whatever gets the thumbs up in your head. The half of shelf price is where I would have been pulling my wallet out. I shoot the 9mm range officer in ESP and carry my range officer compact daily
  5. I feel stupid. I received 1 out of 3 with the middle crease. I sent it in with my 1911 to get warranty work done and they sent back a different new magazine.
  6. I'm going with Dawsons that's what he had on his and It was a good easy sight to look at. I was somewhat confused on which sights were correct for the gun and was going to sit down and figure it out soon. thanks for the help.
  7. Bought the Range Officer. I know exactly what I'm getting since I've shot it. Ordering VZ grips, new sights, and some other stuff tonight. I ended up paying 750 with FFL fee which is pretty good. Gun should get here Weds/Thurs but I'm a big man child so I will be refreshing the tracking every 5 seconds.
  8. any other suggestions around the 700-750 range? This seems to be the ideal 9mm 1911 in the price range. They come with 9 round mags. My friend has 10 round mags I can borrow for time being.
  9. The RO I ran had the stock magazines and I'll end up with 5 after the promo. The gun is mostly a fun/IDPA gun. I know it pushes me into ESP but it's all for good fun. I asked on my local gun forum and it turned into a glock torture test and 1911s can't do it. I carry a 938 and it's never had a misfire and I maintain all my firearms.
  10. Went out with a friend to shoot some guns. Previously owned a G34 and G19 and just couldn't shoot them well at all. I shot doubletaps with my P938 better than my G34. I tried the M&P9L, 5.25XDM, P226, and a Springfield RO 9mm. Right off the bat I was a champ with the RO. I shot the XDM well and the M&P9l would be nice but the trigger out of the box blows. Looking at the Springfield RO is going to be $740 between gun, shipping, and ffl fees. With Springfield doing the 3 free mags it sweetens the deal. Are there any concerns with paying this price(seeing them sell new/used for 750-850) or are there any good alternatives(Not Rock Island)? The Springfield warranty is extremely nice from my XDS so if I do have issues I'll hopefully not have a lot of issues with warranty. I've always read you can't depend on a 1911 but I shot some ugly cheap ammo out of his RO which was stock and it ate it all.
  11. Hey guys new shooter from Southern Alabama. I'm stationed here with the Coast Guard. I am originally from California and my family used to be anti gun so I didn't get into guns until about 2 years ago. I have a Sig P938 and Glock 34. I'm here because I cruise the forums a lot and this forum looks like solid advice. Having trouble with my Glock 34 I can outshoot my G34 with my 938 any day of the week..standing still, moving, etc. I just rock with the 938. I have thought that it might be that I'm just used to shooting smaller CCW style guns (XDS, Glock 26, Glock 27). I know I need to remove the sights ASAP for something else I just can't get used to glock sights. I'm considering selling my 34 (I can get around 600 in my area) and pick up a new 19 (440 OTD) and maybe the smaller size and double duty as CCW will help me out. Anyways long paragraph I know but glad to be here.
