  1. My month old TTIs did the exact same thing on G17.4 mags out of the box. My fix was to put the Glock factory springs in the mags with the TTI extensions. Work fine loaded to 22 rounds. Haven't tried 23 yet.
  2. Shot local 3-gun match Sunday and my open Glock 19 Gen 4 had some weak ejections where the brass would dribble out. Had one round land on top of the slide right in front of the RMR. The pistol has a Jager guide rod with ISMI 13 pound recoil spring and a Carver 3-port comp. Do I need to go to a lighter recoil spring to allow more energy into the slide as it moves to the rear?
  3. Friend got a new stainless .45 Les Baer and my first shot trying it out rang steel at 50 yards. Immediately went on the want list. Peer pressure is expensive.
  4. So new ones appear to better? What's the Walmart catch?
  5. Very impressive. At that age, longest shot for me were squirrels in trees with a Remington Nylon 66 with zero training beyond safety.
  6. Have a 870 that I bought new around 25 years ago and a few years ago for HM, added the Remington integrated pistol grip stock along with extended tube and FO sights. Zero issues and would still use it but went to open class this year with a semi auto Benelli clone VersaMax.

  8. In my QC10 build with pistol buffer tube, I'm running a Primary Weapons Systems 9mm suppressor buffer, KAK pistol buffer spring and 12 quarters (actually measured BCG length, compressed spring length to derive proper quarter stack). Soft like a .22
  9. Built this one with 8.5" barrel. Have started accumulating parts for a 16" after seeing how well this one works.
  10. My setup for 3G open G19.4 Flat trigger PSA threaded barrel Carver 3-port comp Jager guide rod w/ 13# ISMI spring RMR RM06 3.25 MOA red dot w/ cowitnessed suppressor sights SI magwell G17 mags w/ TTI +5 extensions 147gr 9mm x 890 ft/s (130 PF) Middle one...
  11. Just built a QC10 and very surprised how quiet it is compared to a .223 with similar length barrel. Really soft shooter with normal FM 147gr... It's more like a .22LR.
  12. The lack of having cowitnessed irons out of the factory MOS system without spending more money on sights that should have been there from day one makes the MOS option itself a no go for me. Been running two RMRs on a 34 and 19 (current 3G tool) for two years on milled slides and suggest going that route vs. MOS.
  13. Thanks for the thoughts Pat. Appreciate some insight on how you're holding the rifle such as strong and weak hand grip and force (or not) into shoulder. Thanks, Rick .
  14. How far were the targets and what size? Targets were two 2.5" round orange stickers placed vertically about 2' apart on a paper target holder at 20 yards. Was using a RRA R3 rifle with TA31F-G ACOG and suspect the 4X magnification was hurting more than helping my brain compensate for movement at that close distance. Used to shooting steel plates at 25-150 yards (way easier) and thinking of dropping to a 1X red dot for this situation.
  15. Sent an email to DAA two weeks ago with that question specifically for my 51679 and Saul replied the next day with the following... "A 1911 insert would be the best fit, but possibly some fitting to the insert will be required. Not all 1911s are identical in their trigger guard area. Also, I would recommend you consider the optional muzzle support part. The round trigger guards of 1911 guns make it very difficult to keep them motionless in the holster when grips only on their trigger guard, as even with a perfect fit, the gun can rotate through the radius of the trigger guard. The 1911s are in fact why we started offering the muzzle support option. Best Regards, Saul Kirsch"
  16. After using the < $100 variety, used the MSA SS gel for first match this past weekend and love them. Wore them for 5 hours straight and really like the compression vs. clipping of fired shots. Easy to adjust volume was nice for way down when I was shooting to up a few clicks the rest of the time where the sensitivity is really impressive.
  17. Have a Carver 3-port that I use on my open G19.4 RMR and is a very flat shooter. Or if the box, the comp was absorbing too much gas where with the factory recoil springs, it wouldn't cycle. Changed that out for a Jager G4 rod w/ 13# ISMI spring and it runs like a top shooting FM 147gr.
  18. Have two M3 gen mags, with ranger plates, coupled with the Magpul version. Been mostly used as a range toy and a few backyard 3G runs. Works fine so far, just one thing to watch for is the mags are held close enough together that accessories such as bolt releases and magwells may interfere with the second magazine held off to the left.
  19. Tried the approach method today in a local league.... Need much more practice!
  20. Thank you for the great, simple message video. The scope view was very helpful.
  21. With a blurry front sight, red dots are like cheating. Cowitnessed irons, even though still fuzzy, really helped me with with alignment, sight picture and ultimately speed.
  22. Wigwam merino wool work well for me https://www.wigwam.com/gear/socks/wigwam-merino-comfort-hiker
  23. Not a CZ but it's cost effective and meets the weight requirement... Just weighed my RIA 51679 and it's just under three pounds without a mag.
