  1. I keep a spare recoil spring and slide stop in my range bag just in case. Have only had 1 break, and that was after 2+ years and 10K+ rounds through the gun. Have not had another break in either of my guns since, but better safe than sorry. Aside from that I do not keep additional springs / pins etc. with me for matches. I would suggest that you do Loctite down the site mount, thumb rest mount, scope mount once you install them. If you don't you will find they will come loose at the most in opportune time (while shooting a stage).
  2. Agree it depends on you and what you are going to do with it. If you plan on shooting matches (USPSA) and run it in open configuration with the compensator attached then... You will most likely want to get some extended mag base pads and new mag springs so you can load more rounds. Also suggest you get a few different recoil springs for it. I run 9# springs in my two Czechmates. The weight you end up with will depend on load you develop for it (assuming you are going to reload and load for major power factor). Also agree on the extended safety for left hand side of gun. Found that factory safety inadvertently engaged when shooting based on how my hands gripped gun. Might also want to consider a larger thumb rest as the factory one is very small and does not work well if you have larger hands.
  3. Yes that is correct, you can get them from Wolf. Also agree that you should try several different weight springs so you can tune for the load you are running. They sell a calibration pack of springs that I believe has 9,10,11,and 12# springs in it.
  4. Yes. I run Montana Gold CMJ 115 Round nose bullets at 1.160 with no issue in both of my Czechmates. I also have several friends running same load in their Czechmates as well. The ability to load to that OAL will depend on the barrel that came with the gun. Have found several instances where we had to use a Clymer Throater Part # 184053380 to allow it to chamber that OAL. Specifically the spare barrel on my second Czechmate and the factory installed barrel on my first Czechmate.
  5. There is another trimmer called Trim-it that does same thing as Tri-way. Similar design to Crow trimmer but has micrometer like adjustment of trim length and chamfers inside and outside of neck at same time as trimming. So no need to debur afterwards. Have used mine for thousands of rounds and still on first cutting edge do carbide cutter. Don think brass is going to wear it out very fast unless as stated above you are reloading commercially.
  6. Si have a Mark7 and have been running it for well over a year with thousands of rounds loaded on it. Have not seen any variation in powder charge with it. Running on a Dillon 1050 and once I get charge weight set it stays there. I check charge weight multiple times during reload session just to be sure. Could be your powder measure or the type of powder your loading. What Powder are you running?
  7. Go with the lighter spring for sure. Factory recoil spring is 14lbs. I run a 9# spring in both my Czechmates and they run with out issue at major power factor. You may also find the extractor spring in the gun is a bit heavy and you can cut 1 coil out of it as well.
  8. Running Acurate #7 at 9.8 grains with a 115 grain bullet seated at 1.160" in both of my Czechmates. Both make 168-170 power factor with that load. Think you will find light bullet with s,owner powder a better bet for shooting flatter.
  9. I run a Mark VII with the U-Die at digital clutch setting of 3 along with a bit off OneShot case lube and have no issues. Is your Mark VII exceeding the torque limit on the up stroke or the down stroke? If on the down stroke check your brass and make sure you do not have any "Glocked" brass. If the lower section of the brass is bulged and has the "Glock bulge" in it that may be your issue.
  10. Not to be disagreeable but if he is going to shoot USPSA or IPSC and at major power factor ( which is what gun set up with compensator is intended for) he will want to run longer OAL loads to keep pressures down . To do that he will more than likely need to ream the chamber. Can you do it without reaming chamber, yes, but then it limits bullet and powder choices you have and puts unneeded stress on the gun. Do a search on this forum on the topic and you will find vast majority of people shooting a Czechmate ream the chamber for said reasons.
  11. You will more than likely need a brass punch to remove the rear sight after loosening the set screw. The slide racker will be a tight fit going in and may also need a little assistance with the brass punch to drive it all the way in. I have several Czechmates and on some the fit was very tight and on others it was loose enough to to not need much more than a gentle nudge to get it installed. I strongly recomend using some Loctight on the set screw for the slide racker set screw. It will come loose if you don't use any. Same it true for set screw on the mag well. Then if you are going to shoot open class with gun you will want to chamber ream barrel so you can load longer bullets. Czechmate barrels tend to have a short chamber as delivered and typically need a few thousandths taken out of chamber to allow for longer OAL bullets to be chambered. Only takes a few minutes to do this.
  12. Have STI Truebore that runs the following load: 7.8 grains WAC 1.165" OAL 115 grain MG HP 173 Power Factor
  13. Correct. As I mention above you will need to modify it very slightly to get it to fit.
  14. Not to my knowledge. Before they started listing the new insert for the TS/ Czechmate they would recommend the SP01 insert and tell you to make the adjustment as I mentioned previously.
  15. Lee,. The new insert for the TS will not fit the older TS/ Czechmate. The front of the trigger guard is shaped differently on the newer TS/ Czechmate. Specifically where the front of the trigger guard curves up towards the frame, the thickness of the metal is slightly thinner than the older guns. I have both an older Czechmate and a new one and have inserts for both. The gun in your picture appears to be the older style and thus you need the SP01 insert and you will find that you will most likely need to file it down just a bit to get it to fit the trigger guard just right. Double Alpha has a video showing how to do this with the insert you need. They use a dremmel tool in their video. I suggest you use a file as you do not need to take off very much material and the dremmel can take it off way to fast if you are not careful.
  16. Orthikon, Would need a bit more information to help you diagnose what is going on. I would not rule out the ammo being the problem. I have 2 Czechmates and unless you chamber reamed the barrel after getting the gun then it will need a very short OAL to chamber and cycle rounds properly. Thus, we need to know details on what bullet profile, weight, and OAL you are using in your problem description above. Based on what you have described above it sounds like you have either a few bullets with an OAL that are longer than the others and are thus not seating properly in the chamber (bullet is hitting the rifling) or you may also have an issue with improperly sized brass (could be you have brass that has not been sized far enough down on the base.) Again need more details in order to help you diagnose what is going on.
