  1. A huge THANK YOU BOTH to Jimmy Davis and Kurt Kauth, the awesome guys who did a huge amount of work in designing, building and in some cases rebuilding stages throughout the match. As an RO, I'd also like to the thank the shooters and teams - everyone was patient with us, no drama, and were universally there to have a good time and enjoy. To the organizers and the rest of the staff - thanks for everything you did.
  2. We are sheep to the wolves of primer manufacturers I guess. Given all the OCD folks in our midst, I'm kinda surprised this apparent lack of significant difference hasn't surfaced. It probably makes a difference to the bullseye crowd, but all I worry about is not blowing up my gun and making power factor in the games.
  3. For some time I've been getting a lot of small primer pocket brass. Would small magnum pistol primers work well with VV320 or 310?
  4. I took several samples from one run of 45ACP, using Bullseye powder: For the non-precision shooting I do, I am more or less ok with this wide variance, but it does make me wonder why I bought a scale accurate to a thousandth 4.54 4.66 4.52 4.54 4.62 4.6 4.56 4.56 4.54 Max 4.66 Min 4.52 Max Difference 0.14 Mean 4.5711 Percent of mean 3.06% StDev 0.0459
  5. I've sampled some, and also surprised at the variance. Makes me wonder why the need for a scale accurate to .001 ... (that's a whole nother thread) 4.54 4.66 4.52 4.54 4.54 4.62 4.60 4.54 4.56 4.54 Min 4.52 Max 4.66 Range 0.14 Std Dev 0.045265 Average 4.566
  6. Thanks all - yes I'm amortizing and after this morning I'm down to $7 per round. Yeah, Ladyvalea - you can tell from my handle one of my other expensive pasttimes is SCUBA - but I need the rush more than the couple of times a year I get enough time & money to get to a decent dive site. I go to Clear Springs on occasion to help with an OW class but ewwww.
  7. I thought diving was a good way to get rid of my money until I found shooting. Just started reloading, and so far I think my rounds are down to about $63 each. I live in Keller Texas and shoot at Quail Creek for practice, and with Cross Timbers and Dallas Pistol for IDPA and USPSA games.
  8. Welcome - I just joined today and am also from Keller - near Town Hall. I shoot with Cross Timbers - they have IDPA matches every Thursday nite at Winchester Range (820 & Lancaster) - plus a bunch more - they also shoot USPSA and 3-gun (why be mediocre at one when I could really suck at three?) If I ever get decent with the pistol I'll make the investment. ctidpa.com Dallas Pistol shoots IDPA at Elm Fork about 2 Wednesday nites a month, and one USPSA match in Waxahachie. dallaspistol.com
