  1. Very cool! I made something similar. My design replaces the Dillon feed tube. So I pop it out, mine pops in, pull the pin on the bottom, and goto town! Mine hold 25 38 special cases each and I have four (since I would run out of primers at 100 anyway. I don't use them anymore.. because I finally got a case feeder. It sure made life easier until then though!
  2. I have to agree with priming too. All my cases seem to prime easier too.
  3. Just made some with %99.9 isopropyl alcohol and lanolin. 12:1 for starting. I think Dillon may use a little more lanolin, but, I thought that my tubes didn't need as much... I am assuming Dillon takes into account that rifle reloaders are going to use it too, so cover your bases. It looks identical to Dillon, and for me it's just the right amount to keep it all silky smooth!
  4. How long are the Dillon tubes? I hadn't measured them yet. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Guess I'll continue the trend. My SSR, for well.. SSR
  6. Lots of nice setups here! I used to load up in the garage. Only took one Summer and early Fall, for me to tell the wife "I will be reloading inside from now on" She wasnt too thrilled at first. She didn't want some awful looking home made bench sitting in the corner of the room. She said if it looked "okay" she would allow it. This is what I ended up with: (still have to touch up the wall paint, chipped/rubbed off during the build) The old bench outside:
  7. Ain't that the truth! Does feel good to get out and shoot more though!
  8. no, it's been so long ago I did this I can't remember exactly which stick of tubing I ordered, but I ordered my tubing in 6' sticks then cut them down. Take your micrometer and measure your diameters of your small and large primers. Buy the tubing based on the ID necessary for small and then another stick for the necessary ID for the large primers. Thanks! I was actually going to do that just now, going to make some of these myself. Thanks for the information!
  9. Welcome! 3 gun sounds like a lot of fun, I only do pistol sports.
  10. Really old thread. Does anyone still do this mod? I don't like the clunky operation, although the forward clunk seems to keep the powder all free flowing.
  11. So. I bought some Dillon Case Lube from Scheels today... So many people lube pistol brass here on the forums, thought I'd try it. Well. Never going to go dry again! After rubbing lube on my tubes, there just isn't any other way to do it! I noticed that my OAL was super consistent as well. I ordered 32 oz of %99.99 isopropyl alcohol and 8 oz of lanolin oil, plan on making my own bootleg version. Thank you forum! You have blown my mind!
  12. Welcome to the forums! IDPA and USPSA are a blast! I am in Utah so I wouldn't be able to meet up, I am sure someone here can take you through all the ropes.
  13. And my reloading bench today! (something has changed I think... it looks more... blue) Whats the total height of your press with the Budget Reloader on there? Looing good so far! I was thinking about getting the budget reloader case feed system, however I think its going to be too tall for the room I am putting it in.
  14. I lucked out and got an 8lb keg of Alliant BE-86. Titegroup shows up occasionally, I just grab a pound of what I like when I see it regardless of my current supply, mine got so low last year... And I refuse to pay the guys who buy up everything and charge double on the classified ads.
  15. Hey everyone, Long time lurker. I have had a Dillon 550B for about a year and recently upgraded to a XL 650 because I was pushing more volume than I thought I would. I started on a Hornady Lock n Load Classic (really bad experience with that, steered me away from Hornady Reloading for at least the next decade). Went to a Lee Classic Single Stage, loaded thousands of thousands of .38 special on it and enjoyed it. Moved to the blue stuff after I was tired of spending enormous amounts of time loading. Started with the 550B because I did not think I needed an Auto Index. Although my ammo on a single stage is quite a bit more accurate, the 550B was *very* good ammo, enough that in IDPA or USPSA it didn't matter at that point. Well now, I need to practice a hell of a lot more... even the 550B is taking more time than I want (and I REALLY like reloading, which is why I still keep the Single Stage around for some good ole precision match rounds that take forever to make ). Enter the XL 650. All I can say is "why didn't I do this earlier!" Why not the Square Deal? I did not like non standard dies, plain and simple. No Case Feeder options either. So anyway, hello!
