  1. Yeah, right after I posted that, I played around with the angles and quickly realized it was a stoopid question to ask. Hence, the edit!
  2. One other question for Dave or anyone else in the know. Has there been any problem with the bullet feeder getting in the way of the primer tray? I was setting up to load (with un-primed brass) and just discovered that my primer tray (.45 ACP) isn't fitting into the chute because of the feeder. Edit: Nevermind...
  3. Dave, They're just what I needed. I'm beginning to think that the 'buffer' nut (on the top end of the action rod) is in the wrong position as when I try to position it in the mounting plate and the hole in the arm, the whole thing is canted. I guess adjustments are in order. Thanks alot for the pics! I'll be checking out the videos too.
  4. I've just purchased a bullet feeder and found the instructions from Lee very lacking, especially when it comes to pictures. In particular, I wish the instructions included pictures that showed the entire press with the feeder installed. Dave (Reshoot) seems to have his setup functioning really well; maybe he would chime in here and post up some pictures of his finished setup!
  5. What did you do with it after this? Did you send it back to Taurus for repair? Like most of the others, I really like mine. Been using it for over a year with no problems other than, eh, operator error. I also bulged the barrel (looks kind of cool) and have a barrel backordered. Judging from how long its been since I ordered the replacement barrel, it must be coming to me on foot. Also, don't buy Taurus mags; they're overpriced. Get some Wilson Combats; works great!
  6. Not in this sport! My waist is 29-30". You should see what 6 SS mag holders on your belt looks like. Number 6 is on the right side of my spine.
  7. Yeah, I'm looking at those now, but not ruling out some sort of kydex holder. Thanks...
  8. Another update - I bit the bullet and got another 2-belt rig (Safariland) primarily for my 1911 setup and it's an 1.5" belt. I tried the blade-tek AR-10 mag holder from Brownell's but it does not work with FN FAL type mags (even though their customer service rep said it ought to work). So the search continues!
  9. To sort of get back on track, I've recently purchased the same belts and although I've gotten the outer belt to work, two things confused me. One, does the double hook serve any good purpose? Two, try as I've had to get mine setup like the CR Speed type, I just can't put the outer belt on with the ends of the belt going through the loop in back of me (i.e. think of it like putting on a regular belt backwards with the buckle in the small of your back). If I wear it like a normal belt, I can do the adjustments needed to get it snugged up!
  10. Hmmm...maybe I should scam 10-20 of 'em and try in the loader before buying. Happy New Year all, and be safe in '09 while still blowing up stuff!
  11. Just what I hoped to hear...thanks. Any other opinions out there?
  12. The title sort of sums it up, but I'll state it anyway. Lee recommends only CCI & Winchester primers with their progressive press (what their lawyers make them say???). Was wondering if anyone regularly runs Wolf primers through theirs. Several of the guys I shoot/order stuff with are using the Wolf primers and are pleased with their performance. Wanted to see what others' experiences were before I took the plunge. Thanks.
  13. Scott, just shot ypu a PM. Please ignore my question about the width, I answered it before I saw your post here.
  14. The description sort of sums it up, looking for kydex-style mag pouch that can fit an 1 3/4 inch belt. Mach 2 Sports have nice ones but they fit 1 1/2 inch belts. I've found nothing else so far so ANY help is appreciated.
  15. First, sorry about the late reply. It isn't a fit issue - just a release issue. The darn things just wouldn't drop consistently when I hit the release button. Had to sometimes pull them out by hand. IIRC, with one (or no) rounds left in the mag, it allowed the follower to move forward slightly which was enough to impede the ejection of the mag. The Taurus mags operate fine. A guy I shoot with is using the Wilson Combat's in his; I may consider picking up a few of those.
  16. To get started in Single Stack, I bought a Taurus; a pretty economical 1911 and I do enjoy the gun. However, aftermarket mags just don't seem to work in it. So I took back all the Chip McCormick mags I bought and upgraded to the factory stuff. At $40 apiece, they're pretty pricey. Anyway, I was trying to flex one of the followers for a tighter fit and the darn thing snapped in two. Has anyone tried a different follower in these mags?
  17. With the recent NROI ruling concering the grip plug for Glocks, and that the ruling distinguishes between plug types that add/don't add to the gun profile (or silhouette , if you will), you might want to submit this question to them for their consideration.
  18. I wanted to be there to shoot and work, but somehow I stress fractured a metatarsal bone in my left foot at the first of the year and I don't have alot of confidence in it, yet. I enjoyed ROing more than competing last year cause you get to see so many good shooters. If anyone posts up some pictures, let me know - stage diagrams never do the real thing justice.
  19. Ron, I was just looking over the results and didn't see your name. Did you not shoot the match?
  20. Just so I understand you, are you suggesting putting the plywood/plastic behind the paper target?
  21. I'm looking for some insight on how other clubs make use of IPSC metric targets in their shotgun stage setups. We use slugs on paper and shot for the clays & poppers. But, sometimes distinguishing slug from wad is downright frustrating. At our next match (2-gun) I'm going to put some in play but at a maximum distance, which for our range is only about 50-70 feet. Anyway, was wondering what other clubs do. Thanx!
  22. Yeah, what McMeanus said. Newly minted CRO (always learning) and currently on the DL. Alas, bit of a fractured foot...
  23. Yeah, I sort of fall into that category. 5' 11'' with a 30" waist. I may just get a second belt (I use an inner/outer belt rig) that has what I need on it. I normally do L10 in pistol but, being the masochist that I am, was considering shooting he-man category so I could have a second belt setup for 1911.
