  1. How did you all do on ammo count? I was watching Matt on the last run (when the timer died...) He ended up having to reshoot... and was basically out of ammo by then for the pistol.
  2. Crap, sorry about bringing this back up. I saw the March 2nd date, not the 2005 part. :-(
  3. Here are the rules from last year's MGM Ironman
  4. I had a really bad experience with Caffine this week. After drinking the before mentioned 100oz of pop... two days in a row... my body decided to purge liquids at an alarming rate. I decided to back off pop for the time being. I haven't had any since Monday morning. Will probably go until this weekend, just to make sure my body is clean again, and then start up the bad habit again. :-)
  5. I like the AR15 video, quite a bit. I would stick with that format. I wouldn't mind seeing pump guns. I noticed a few using them at the MGM this weekend. But, I don't know that I would spend a ton of time on them. Talk a bit about them, and how to interpret the main video and use it for pumps... something along those lines.
  6. I haven't finished watching it yet, but I agree, it is good what I have seen, so far. I also got to meet Matt yesterday, and he is a real gentleman. He asked if I had any questions about what he went through on the videos, and made himself available to give out a few tips.
  7. I have never been a coffee drinker, but I enjoy pops. I usually "break" the habit every time I get sick. I know that Caffine isn't really good for you, so when I get sick, I tend to drink lots of non soft drink liquids. It usually takes about 2 days for me to kick the headaches... but they are a bummer of 2 days. :-) I have discovered that Maverick has a 100 oz refillable mug now... :-) That is enough diet pepsi to keep me going for the evening! :-)
  8. So, I have never been to one of these. I get off work at 5, and can probably get there by 6pm. Think there will still be shooting going on? I would like to watch, and my wife is off work today... so it is the best day for me to spend some time watching. :-)
  9. My first gun was a Winchester 12 gauge. My parents then took it to a gunsmith to cut down the stock. I still have the shotgun and the piece that came off. I decided to leave it be, and let my wife shoot it (if she ever will). It is about the right size for her.
  10. There is a town near the Idaho/Oregon border, on the road down into Nevada that has a MAJOR speed reduction... and it is a famous spot to get nailed. On another note, there were 8 officers this morning, a city over writing speeding tickets, no seat-belt, and failure to move over to let the people on the on-ramp merge... well, inside of an hour, the officers were very busy, and traffic was backed up miles in all directions. It's one thing to do these things... but man, don't screw up the traffic that bad. Even the traffic reporters were bashing them. In the middle of Boise, is Garden City. It is really one main thouroughfare, that is the fastest way to go from one part of the city to the other. It is wall to wall businesses, on the road. Well, the police there got to the point that they were busting people going 5mph over, and people quit going down that road. It is faster, but not THAT much faster. The local businesses created such a racket that the police became much more lienent. One thing that is convienent, we have the Boise training center across the street for our house, so there doesn't tend to be much going on in our neighborhood... though, waking up one morning to the bombsquad truck parked in front of the house, was pretty disconcerting. :-)
  11. Anyone know how late these last, in the evening? I was thinking about running over and see how things were going after work, but not sure if there will be anything going on.
  12. Man, you live in the heart of BBQ country. Check around for someone that has a tow-behind that is looking to make a few extra bucks. I have a SMALL, backyard unit, and I can easily throw 8 boston butts on it, which will give you enough meat to easily feed that many. I will lay you odds that there are small outfits around you, that fit the bill. Here locally, there is a guy that makes some great Cajun BBQ. It is based out of a trailer, that he takes to events that he is invited to.
  13. The time thing, is actually something that has always been a little difficult to really gauge in the Starwars Movies. I have read most of the books in the series, and they generally take place over a longer period of time, than the movie really shows. Remember, the 2nd death star wasn't fully built... Though, that being said, between ep 4 and 6 was something like 3-4 years, from what I have read.
  14. My wife and I use T-Mobile. We have had a lot of luck with them. Though, we ARE lucky, in that a friend of ours works for T-Mobile service. As for the phones, do a little research online. Nokia usually has good phones. If you are interested in the past 2 phones, a guy that works at T-mobile service has had, they are the nokia 6600 and 3220.
  15. We have an irrigation ditch that runs along the west end of our property, and the entire edge of our property is covered by about a 6' high, 6' wide bramble of blackberries. The guy that takes care of the ditch cuts them back every other year or so... it just slows the growth a bit. :-) My wife isn't much into cooking though... so I never get good stuff like cobbler. :-(
  16. Hmmm... I hit a limit on my previous post. Time to start a new one to throw some more into. Talk to the hand! I like me "This is my BOOM-stick" Smooth as an android's butt Guys with guns THAT way, I'm going this way
  17. Man, I do not like shark near my fish. A couple of years ago, I spent 10 minutes dragging a Chinook Salmon off the bottom, and as I was bringing the damn fish into the net, a large blue bit the back end off. I had the head, and a bit of meat beyond, that is all. :-( We only caught 1 keeper that day, and mine would have made 2. :-(
  18. I think they missed a few others: Do NOT stand down-wind Did you have beans for dinner? Don't forget to flush! AGAIN Bring up the LASER Gah! Ice-Cream headache!
  19. The puffer fish does NOT look pleased. That first of the series of 3, was that a shark bite?
  20. Ha! After the match, I told my mom about it, and said that she would be happy, since I had clean underwear on. :-)
  21. I guess I had 2 advantages here. 1) This was the last course of the day. 2) My pants just fell to half mast, and didn't rupture. :-)
  22. This weekend, I finally attended my first match. It was a Steel fun shoot, using IPSC rules, except for the scoring. Things went pretty well, up until I reached the last stage. So, on this stage, you are seated on a toilet (yes, a chair with a toilet hole in it), and your gun is in the magazine rack next to you. At the buzzer, you reach over, grab the pistol, and engage 6 targes in front of you. They range from about 10-15 yards away. From there, you have a choice Out about 30 or so yards away, were another 6 metal targets. You could either stand, and engage them, or run up to a fault line, about 10 yards away from those targets. So, there is the stage, pretty simple and straight forward. I take up my position. The buzzer sounds. I reach over, grab the pistol, and am able to drop the targets pretty quickly. I leap off of the pot, turn and run tword the other side. Now, at this point, let me expain something. I am around 350lbs so I have that funnel shaped body. While my belt is ok at holding my pants up, it does have some limitations. Well, the added weight of a holster and 2 loaded mags ads extra drag that is not conductive to keep the britches in place. I have the horrible vision of my pants falling in front of all these shooters. I could feel the right side sliding down quickly, so I reach down to grab it. As I get my little finger into the belt loop and start pulling, I realize my pistol is aiming down, and getting dangerously close to breaking 180 degrees. The one thing I fear worse than mooning a squad of spectators, is getting a DQ, so I come to an abrupt halt, and bring my pistol up. To the shock (and amusement) of the crowd behind me, I engage the final targets exposing my backside to God and squad behind. Even with that distraction, I think I missed twice out of 6 targets, and had a respectable time. The second string went a LOT better, though, I scored worse. Go figure. It was a great day, and I had a lot of fun... Grabing some suspenders for next time, though. :-)
  23. I have several JP parts on my AR, though, not the barrel. I WILL say this, I have a 20" Stainless barrel, and after putting a couple of hundred rounds through it, I wish I would have gone 18". Anything to lighten it up a bit. I want to point out, this is not a bull barrel, but a normal, barrel. And it weights a ton hanging out there.... When supporte,d it isn't a problem, but when freehanding it, it starts getting heavy, fast.

Heh, yea, you can just see him going all over the place... had no clue how to let his tires get enough grip to push him straight.
