Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks Christopher. I know that the question was pretty broad; I was simply curious to see what others were using, and look at any input they may add about their findings with the powders they use. Thanks for the input, Bill
  2. Thanks all for the great information, and please keep it comming. I really have enjoyed checking this board, and have come away with some really great information. Thanks, Bill
  3. Of the powders that you use in your reloading, what is the cleanest for you for loads that run the gammet of, say, light plinkers to full power rounds. I have used Unique, Blue Dot, HS-7, and a couple others. I was just wondering what you guys liked. I load for 38 special, 357 mag, 40 S&W, 10mm, 45 acp, and 45 colt. My brother likes AA#5 for 40 and 45 acp. I am looking for input on Accurate Arms, Alliant, Hodgdon, IMR, and Winchester powders. Just curious, and it may lead me to some new powder choices to try. Bill

  6. Thanks for the advice, john. i have been looking at the AA powders, and found that a number of people like them, and have had great results. I see an order for some AA#5 in my future, I think. Thanks Bill
  7. Thanks guys. This is the type of info that I have been looking for.
  8. I picked up some 165 grn HP Rainiers recently, and was wondering what powders you out there in reloading land like to use with this bullet/weight? I will be loading in a Glock 27. I want to use the loads strictly for target (informal) and plinking, somewhere in the 900-1000 fps range. I have loaded Unique, Blue Dot, HS-6, and HS-7 in other cartridges in the past, but have only loaded Unique in the 40 S&W. I am not looking so much for a specific load, just for a powder recomendation and why you like/use that powder. I won't be shooting competitions, so don't need to "make" power factors. They are just for "fun" shooting, as my daughter says. I won't be using them for ccw carry either; I'll leave that chore to the Golden Sabre's and the Win SXT's. Thanks for the help in advance.
