  1. Welcome Traveler.

Are there any level three matches in Germany that you can recommend? I have relatives in the Munich area and might schedule my visits around a match.

    Hi Zoomy,

There are two main match systems covering matches scheduled in Germany, although it's worth noting that they typically also include matches in a number of other European countries (these tend to be primarily The Netherlands and Austria). Neither one of these systems is particularly friendly in terms of user interface, but once you've used them a couple of times, they become somewhat more intuitive. You can find them here:

Match Organisation System (MOS) - This is the main system for match scheduling and registration

    http://www.ipsc-dvc.org/index.php?option=com_ipsc&Itemid=35&task=Wettkampf_Liste

Secondary match registration system (the ones that appear here will not appear in the MOS system above)

    http://ipscmatch.de/index.pl?lang=en

You'll need to register for both sites before you can access any of the materials associated with the matches (i.e. detailed match descriptions, invitations, etc.), but this shouldn't be a problem. Both sites are available in English.

Not sure what your dates/availability might be, but there are two upcoming Level 3 matches I've signed up for:

    1) STI European Challenge, August 15-17 (match has its own website here: http://www.sti-euro-challenge.eu) - Takes place in Hodonice, Czech Republic, but if you're in Bavaria this will not be far from you

    2) MOS Autumn Edition, October 3-5 - Takes place in Lauf an der Pegnitz, just East of Nürnberg

If you prefer not to register for either of the sites right away, but just want info on a specific match, just let me know and I can send you the descriptions as a PDF by email. My address is: IPSCtraveler@gmail.com

  2. Welcome to the forums! We do our part here in the SW Ohio area with several monthly USPSA matches. Not a lot of three gun to be had but there is some on occasion. But for sure you can shoot a pistol match every weekend in Cincy, Dayton, Circleville, Oxford and in Kentucky.

Many thanks, Sarge. I'm familiar with the matches in Dayton (Miamisburg, where my father's a member, and Sim Trainer "Tactical Tuesday" matches, where I'm a member) as well as PCSI in Circleville. In fact, I'll be in Dayton end July/early August and plan to take part in some matches then.

  3. This is my first post to the forum, which I've been reading for some time, but haven't yet contributed to.

Let me start by saying that this has been a fantastic source of information for me in terms of IPSC shooting and equipment.

I spend roughly 50% of my time in Germany and the remaining time split between Ohio (where I'm originally from) and Texas (where my company has its US headquarters). I compete mostly in European IPSC matches, but have started becoming more engaged in USPSA during my Ohio/Houston time. I have a first 3-gun match coming up in August and am currently going through and expanding my equipment checklist in preparation (firearms: Sig 516, Versa Max Tactical, G34), so I've been frequently coming back to the forum lately.

Look forward to reading more great tips, learning from the experience of others here and contributing wherever I can!
