  1. A JP lightweight rifle buffer is 3 oz. Here's the process I went thru- Standard rifle buffer 5.1 oz Standard rifle buffer with 2 steel weights and delrin spacer 2.9 oz Gutted rifle buffer 1.7 oz Taccom rifle buffer .6 oz recprocates I believe I've ran all 5 setups with my 18" Nordic barrel, fixed gas, JP LMOS bcg, JP rifle buffer spring. Standard buffer short strokes and will not run. Between the other 4, I'm not confident that if someone put one of them in my rifle that I would be able to tell which one from shooting feel. No malfunctions from any of the 4 setups. Taccom of course would not recommend using their buffer in my setup.
  2. You can go pretty far, but I wouldn't take the front out entirely. I found I was hitting the rear of the pump more than anything with quads so it got the chop.
  3. I wanted to resurrect this thread and see what the guys who shot the division thought about it. Good, bad, need improvement?
  4. I've got some UA Heatgear long sleeves and some other brands. All work great at keeping you cool and yet not so loose that they get in the way. Way better than sunscreen.
  5. I've run into the same problem before, I contacted them through MOA facebook page and got a response.
  6. I'm an example of it growing the sport. I have no desire to shoot Production because the the 10 round limit and external modifications disqualify my pistol. In Limited I'm at a scoring disadvantage because minor power factor. PCC and CO sounds like more fun than Production. Pistol will never be my focus but shooting USPSA to get better is kind of a goal this year. I was gonna shoot Limited minor, but CO and the possibility of PCC sound like a lot more fun.
  7. Stealth is the one division that will get me out of Limited division. Sadly unless it catches on at other matches I won't be shooting it anytime soon.
  8. The new Stealth division at SMM3G would allow it as long as the pistol and mag fit the box.
  9. Building your own integrally suppressed upper would be possible but would probably void most of suppressor warranties to permanently attach them to a barrel. There are a couple of companies that sell integrally suppressed uppers and rifles. Tactical Solutions sells an upper that is basically a short barrel(11") with a permanently attached shroud that brings OAL to 16" that your suppressor screws into. Not the prettiest or lightest but it lets you remove the can and still have a 16" barrel and saves a tax stamp.
  10. A rule change to stop cheaters from cheating would seem rather useless. At major matches match officials should enforce the rules. May not be a perfect system but it would appear to work just fine as is the vast majority of the time. I believe that simple enforceable rules concerning equipment are better than more complex rules. My personal choice would be a max tube length measured from the receiver, unlimited capacity. Pick a number for length, whatever makes you warm and fuzzy. Most people already own the enforcement tool and no need to argue about how many rounds started in the gun.
  11. Its really is about that simple, but probably need something longer than a pencil. If you don't want spend anything jump to 3:10 in this video-
  12. Does your magazine tube hold too many shells for the division? Most rule sets will allow you to plug a longer tube to limit its capacity. You may not need to return anything.
  13. I couldn't agree more with this. I still consider myself a new shooter and we need more good info that's easy to find. Some of us want the advice that counts and wading through the game changer posts gets old.
  14. Some matches cap mag capacity in some divisions so it lets you shorten the tube to closer match barrel length. You could also buy an extra +7 MXT tube.
  15. Taccom makes a carbine buffer. Their rifle buffers would be too long for a carbine tube, not too short.
  16. The attitude most often seems to be that a variable with a bdc is required to hit targets past 200 in 3 gun so I don't see a large number of newly minted limited shooters taking the bait. Guys shoot scope not because they want to shoot limited but because they think its impossible to hit anything otherwise. I'm also not a fan of division shopping, enter a division and stick with it. I think it would be fun to shoot against guys running scopes on 1x with useless bdc reticles who aren't used to holdovers though. Still is the no camp though.
  17. Wait what? This is already out? What is the reticle? I think he means he has the first version and wants to know if Burris will be able to retrofit it to the new design once it's out.
  18. I'm thinking taking back a gun with a mysteriously shorter barrel is probably detrimental to health. Swapping barrels is a great option for guys who already have one. Carlson's makes a barrel for my Nova, might be an option buts its far from cheap. Borrowing would be better. Going to have to see if I can get enough ducks in a row before the match fills up. Never went into this sport expecting it to be cheap.
  19. I'm exploring that as we speak, I'm surrounded by hunter's not tactical shooters it seems.
  20. I got really excited because the old SOF matches always come up as the standard all the time and this is my chance to experience that. Even better that its right here close by. Then reading the rules, I'm only 1/3 of the way to being able to compete because of barrel length. I'll buy all the buckshot I need to shoot a match and and buying another pistol that fits the criteria is already planned. I have to draw the line at buying a shotgun I wouldn't otherwise own though.
  21. Eggleston Munitions is running a sale until the 31st and always has $5 shipping. Great customer service and good bullets.
  22. Which front is that then Kurt? I really like the globe sight fronts but the whole setup costs prism sight money. I've been looking for an alternative but I don't like the look of a standard sight post.
  23. The downside for a new guy to put together a set of irons similar to what is on Pat's rifle means you are spending a few dollars less than a Burris or Vortex.
