  1. FYI - Any PSA barrel made after 8/1/2017 has been lengthened to accept longer chambers and the chamfer has been redesigned to aide in feeding issues. The barrel will be labeled "9mm PCC Chamber" near the muzzle. If you have a PSA barrel and are having feeding issues you can email customer service and get an RMA to have it replaced. You would be surprised how well it runs.
  2. I was recently handed one of these to shoot and have been overly impressed. I am building a blue skeletonized now for Steel Challenge. It has a built-in feed ramp and functional LRBHO with an extended mag release. Mine is just over 5 1/2 pounds and I used a Shilen / Craddock match grade stainless barrel. It comes stock with an ECL and MBX recoil system. https://www.leadstararms.com/collections/9mm-pcc/products/barrage-skeletonized-9mm-competition-edition-black Lower Receiver: Our Patent Pending lower receiver includes integrated feed ramp for reliable feeding including hollow points and integrated LBRHO (last round bolt hold open) for AR-15 bolt release functionality. LRBHO is easily removed with 3 screws for competition shooters. Huge magwell entry chamfer for way faster and easier magazine changes, no aftermarket funnel needed it is so large. TracStar™ magwell with full traction design. Designed for the operator to grip and maintain weapon control even in the most extreme conditions. Tension device to maintain rigidity between upper and lower receivers. Rear detent spring capture device to facilitate easier removal of buffer tube. Built in trigger guard eliminates the need for a flip down trigger guard. Fully CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum for extreme precision and enhanced durability. Skeletonized for further weight reduction. Upper Receiver: Fully CNC machined from 7075-T6 aluminum for extreme precision and enhanced durability. Flat top picatinny design for versatility in mounting optics and other enhanced components. CNC engraved numbered rail system. 3. If you are still having issues, can you message me your order number or the email address you used to place your order?
  4. The new barrel design works best at around 1.155 - 1.160 and it was lengthened to accommodate longer loads. It has been tested from 90 grain 1.050 out to 147 grain 1.165 (out of spec for Glock mags) and they fed fine. Make sure your barrel, near the brake, has: "9MM 1:10 PSA PCC CHAMBER" etched on it. If it has this engraving and is still causing issues, please message me and we can go from there. What folks did prior to 8/1/17 (which is when the V2 barrel was released) will be different. If this upper is giving you problems I would like to know so I can work to get it corrected.
  5. I like the Armaspec ones. I have very good luck with it so far.
  6. I run 1.150 in mine. Hornady 147 RNBT.
  7. I am sending you a PM. I can help you. Sent from my SM-G925V using Tapatalk
  8. I have witnessed that myself too and you are correct. I guess my issue may be seperate. If you have 5 shots on a plate but you doubled up on a bad string and missed on the next string, what do you do? There are 5 shots on the steel. 1 could be on the edge but it was engaged from another string. It may have just been an isolated event but the shooter pulled it off a few times on a few stages. I must let my bitterness pass..
  9. Zack, we talked about this a little in Alabama. My squad had a weird experience with this issue in SC. There is a deeper problem I think. I have watched a really good shooter throw extra shots at a target in a string and blaze through subsequent strings in an effort to game a stage. In SC, it caused a 30 minute hang up on A: shot placement confusion and B: edge Hits. My advice and take it for what it is: The score keeper, not the RO, should watch the hits. If they call it a no-hit, it is a no-hit. This debate process, call the MD and whine session, should stop. I am all for review if an edge hit occurs but if the RO and Score Keeper says no, tough. It is kind of an absurd argument. The best of the best put solid hits on steel. I will venture to say a great shooter will accept it for what it is. If the target is not painted, it goes to the shooter. That is a management problem. With the new paint, as thick as it is, this should not be an issue.
  10. Zack, let's talk. May be able to help out....
  11. There does however need to be a rule for people who whine and complain after each string that they have a miss on. It should be a mandatory kick to the shin.
  12. I shoot my "main gun" first too...
  13. The one witn the bolt hold open is not NFA. The one that does not have that feature is.
  14. This is also in the PCC group. I would also like feedback from folks that do not currently have a PCC but are interested in it. Two questions…. If you had the ability to build the ultimate PCC rifle for Steel Challenge, USPSA, Etc., which components would you choose and why? I know this will be a heavily opinionated topic but I need some feedback from you guys. If someone offered an off the shelf available PCC rifle with these components, do you think there would be an interest? I see PCC growing in SC and I am guessing there are some folks that would like to jump into it but are hesitant.

  16. The biggest complaint I heard was with the GSSF rules...
  17. Has it affected many competitors?
  18. In a way, that sucks. The new SC scoring either helped or hurt a lot of people.
  19. Out of curiosity.... I thought to be Regional qualified you would have to have a local classification. I just received our schedule for the regional and in the Jr. division there are 2 shooters that do not have local qualification times listed on the site. We were looking to see how everyone did in locals and noticed it.
  20. I just saw this pop back up and thought I would share my experience - and pain - since I typed the original post. So I debated on building for a while, made calls, did some research, followed a lot of your advice and basically gave up. I converted my Open Glock to a Timberwolf frame with a 17 slide and shot it for a while. I thought a 2011 would fit me better (or make me faster) so I picked up on my search. I am a traditional 1911/SS purist so surely I'd be faster with that platform, right? I sold a rifle I wasn't using and worked a deal out on this board for an STI Grandmaster with a 9mm fitted minor bbl and the original 38SC bbl with the Recoil Master setup. The gun is great. I've shot several matches with it so far. But, before this original post, I had spent a year tweaking the Glock to cycle, reliably, as a light of a load as I could which was chronicled in another thread. I shot stages with both guns recently and I am considerably faster with the Glock that I tweaked for a year. It also cycles 100% with a load that is about .6 grains lighter than the STI can due to the ports. It will shoot somewhat minor but not Steel Challenge minor like my Glock does. I know, it's a gas issue and more powder, lighter bullet will fix it, Etc but being hard headed I wanted low recoil so I focused on a 147grn load with TG ( not great for comps). I think I came up with something special with the Timberwolf frame, 17 slide and 4 port carver comp. I use the Carver mount to the forward position and with a full magazine the gun is extremely balanced (and short). The trigger is very light (UAT) and it cycles very light loads like a champ. So, about 3k later I am back to the gun I started this in the sport I compete the most in. The GM will be my USPSA gun when I go back to paper I guess. Everyone who has shot the TW with the 4 port comp using the load I came up with has been amazed. It gasses just enough to cycle and keep the bbl flat and has little to no felt recoil. I'm having an issue finding a holster that fits it well but thats a different story. I do want to say thanks to everyone who commented. I do still want to build a limited one for fun one day and CK seems to be the way to go.
  21. It doesn't bother me. Here is my take on it. Between each class there is padding for a hiccup. Say you are in B, shooting against other B class shooters, there is a lot of time between 143.33 and 114.67 to make mistakes and still be competitive in that class. I can honestly say, by comparing my local times posted, I am always shooting in B class. I have shot some A class times on a stage or 2 but for the most part, I shoot my class. I'd be willing to bet this is true with C and even A as well. Now, If you are at say 116 in Open B and you smoke a stage like never before, it will place you into A in which you will have to work your way back up the ladder. Keep shooting. This means you have the potential in all of the 8 stages to shoot them clean and fast. A good stage is a good stage but as you start accumulating "good" stages, your overall speed increases as well. I look at it as a way to push myself to get better rather than get stuck on the class. I'm not shooting for money and it is more for personal goals. My local club doesn't post scores often so I may have a somewhat skewed opinion. I do see the issue of having one great stage go towards your classification and increasing your class but I honestly think that over time, it evens out. Just my .02. Zack, thanks for what you are doing. No system is perfect.
  22. Why did they take down the global rankings? Did I miss something?
