  1. I was reading a book recently by John Shaw. I was wondering what happened to him? I think in the 80s he was a top shooter in his classes. Thanks
  2. Mike Mine must be old. Birchwood Casey AlumaBlack. Looks like they call it Aluminum Black now. But it works quite good. Try this, Aluminum Black® Metal Finish http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/index.html The room temperature chemical used by gunsmiths and industry to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy to apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. ALUMINUM BLACK Metal Finish is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items.
  3. After installing the Weigand Smith & Wesson Rear Sight Blade there is a small amount of up and down play. Is this normal? The new Weigand blade moves in existing S&W windage slot. I know it can't be to tight, no windage adj., but seems to have a little more play then normal. Does anyone use this blade. Makes a great sight btw. Has anyone encountered this problem. If so, what did you do to correct? Thanks
  4. Flitz or Mothers Mag Polish (found at most auto parts or walmart stores). Always polish with the grain.
  5. Thank you. I emailed pinnacle guns and will wait and see what they offer.
  6. Does anyone know if anyone is making a fiber optic front sight for a Colt Python? Also does anyone have any input on Millett's rear adj. sight for same? As my eyes seem to be changing I find it harder to get a good sight picture. I put a fiber optic front sight on my S&W and it makes quite a difference. I can line up the sights on the target a lot faster. Thanks for any info.
  7. I was looking at new earmuffs and would like to buy electronic muffs. I would like your opinions on the good ones or the ones you own. Thanks.
  8. In another post about 45 revos I asked about moonclips and you guys told me Ranch Products. I ordered some (takes about a month to get) and were good people to deal with. When I got them I had to make some loads and get to the range. And the old 25-2 still has it. This is what happened at the range. Thanks Guys. Michael
  9. I would call S&W. You can also post on S&W forums. A lot of savy S&W guys there. http://www.smith-wessonforum.com/cgi-bin/s.../ultimatebb.cgi
  10. I went back with some intent to buy it. But it was sold. Imccrock, i'm sure it was dirty inside, sure was on the outside. Thanks
  11. Someone told me the hole in front of the trigger guard was for adjusting the trigger stop. This didn't make any sense to me because the trigger would have to have a hole in it also. I'm going to take another look at this latter this week. I happened to see another Bill Davis at another shop this weekend. It was built on an N frame and was .44 mag. Looked real sharp. I didn't play with it. Price $600.
  12. revchuck, Thanks for the explaination. You are so right The 25-2 is WAY prettier!! robomanusa Thanks for the moonclip number.
  13. Where does one buy moonclips @ $25 per 100??? sensei, Love those grips. Is there a difference between the 25-2 and 625? Besides the stainless. Thanks
  14. fomeister, Revolver Thank you for your input. I think it was a PPC gun. fomeister, I wasn't asking myself those questions. I have a .38 target that I love, but sometimes you see something and you think I gotta have it. Thanks for helping me think... Michael
  15. I was looking at a model 15-3 today. Dealer said it was a bill davis target model. It had a very heavy slab sided barrel, adj.front sight and a hole in the front trigger guard. The action didn't seem that smooth and a heavy (I thought) sa pull. Blueing not great and a ring around cylinder. All this for $300. Does anyone have any information or thoughts on this?? Thanks in advance.
