  1. I just hit the DA first then cycle the "dead" trigger. If it goes DA again, I know I was slapping it too far.
  2. Yes, any full size "K" series 10 mm will be fine.
  3. minor 9 will typically run flatter and faster with a lighter spring. Try an 8 and see.
  4. The stock 2 will benefit from lighter springs. hammer - either EG "medium" or Patriot Defense 15.5 pound. Firing pin return, sear, trigger return - get the Patriot Defense optimized That's about 50 bucks. If you want better ... the "Unica" heavy da hammer. The geometry of it may very likely require a shorter spring. But i believe it's IPSC legal and wil give the best trigger.
  5. I shoot 124, 135 and 145. There isn't really much difference. If the slide is sluggish, you should fix that. Strip the gun, slather "blue magic" in the rails and hand cycle it 400 times. Pushing down, left, right and pulling up 100 each. I'm not very good, and i get 0.18 splits with 145s.
  6. ? You do not use the retainer from a normal capacity mag wirh the extension.
  7. Obviously, i don't know if this applies to you but, 99% of the time the problem is with the shooter pulling the shots low at distance. if the gun dips while pulling the trigger, it will hit low. Unless you are a very accomplished shooter (i don't know if you are or not), at 25yds and more ALWAYS zero from a bench with the gun stabilized on bags. Now assuming it is the gun, not the shooter, there is a calculation on the dawson precision. To determine correct height based on where the poi is. https://dawsonprecision.com/sight-calculator/
  8. I found using the DIY lanolin and alcohol lube to be the best option. 1-4oz of the lanolin in 32oz of pure isopropyl alcohol. I vary the concentration to the task. Sizing rifle brass, 4oz. Pistol stuff 1-3oz. You do need to tumble finished ammo in dry media to remove any residue lube. It's cheap and works (at least for me)
  9. So, I've sent 2 CO slides down to Joe @PatriotDefense To configure for different dots. while they are gone, i "get to" shoot limited with my 40 cal stock 2. With the excellent Taylor Freelance 141 extensions and Gramms guts, the K40 mags can hold 19 rounds in 2 and 20 rounds in one. So i got to wondering... what that looked like with the base off. Turned one upside down and loaded up. picture is of 19 in the tube and the 20th in front. No wonder it's so tight! I'm "assuming" the ones at 19 the spring doesn't nest as tightly. I'll probably just fill with 19 and 18 to keep them more reliable.
  10. Actually ... they will, but you need to "cast the magic spell correctly". First add 3500 rounds fired and 70 hours of dry fire per month for 28 months. Last step.... never get a Mike, no-shoot or Delta ... while posting the fastest times. When you complete those 2 simple steps, you will magically suck less! FYI - I'm only 3000 rounds and 67 dry fire hours short of step 1, month 1 myself.
  11. Guns are not stainless. Hard chrome over steel.
  12. Looks awesome. Almost makes me want to shoot open.
  13. I stipled mine. They were good for a while, but my hands are a bit abrasive and they smoothed off. They were working on an aluminum palm swell, but haven't heard about that in a while.
  14. I used the screws that came with them. The O-rings just were the size of the screw. I prefer the wider aspect of the henning grips but vastly prefer the traction of the LOK . Actually, if the Patriot Palm Swells had the LOK texture, that would be ideal
  15. If they slip forward with light -moderate force, it may have a couple of things possible. 1) the firing pin has had the "shoulder" rounded from contacting the FPB 2) the firing pin block has been rounded from contact with the firing pin. 3) the "fitting" was too aggressive and too much material has been removed. 4) rare but possible .. the firing pin or FPB hole in the slide could have been overly "polished" and be too large. Now, your "moderate" may be my heavy force. Inspect the FPB and firing pin for signs of rounding from contact. If they don't show rounding, you are probably OK. If they do show rounding, they may be best replaced.
  16. I'm assuming that's legal. I didn't see anything in the rules against it
  17. I just ROed a guy that shot a target from 2 positions and stopped after making holes 3 and 4. The said, that target wasn't pasted. i was nice and told him "you shot all those holes!" . Lol, he got busy quick!
  18. Thanks for the input guys! Also good to know those are possible legit splits. I don't want to cast doubts unneccessarily.
  19. Ok, i was RO'ing local match and the pcc fella was putting up amazing split times on targets. like 0.09s splits. i don't know jack about binary triggers, but google thinks that it's more likely a binary than not. How does one address the situation? I checked the rules and they are not allowed, but how would you go about checking? Yes this is a serious question. And no, i really don't know much about them at all, how they work, etc.
  20. Actually, i prefer a nice FIXED rear sight. One less thing to worry about as they arw are more robust. and after initial zero, I've never had to re-zero. Plus, i would buy a different front fiber anyway. Just one opinion
  21. Rounds that fail the hundo go thru the "bulge buster". If that doesn't fix them, then the crimp gets slightly tightened. I run the crimp on the "snug" side in the hundo as they are most accurate that way.
  22. Ohhhhhhh, I thought i was just pressing the "auto-dq" button.
  23. Uh.... no. Tuning the slide stop to go forward with inertia has ZERO impact on the sear, hammer, hammer safety.
