Negative- load thousands of rounds of 223, 308, and 300 blk on the 550 and 650. If you don't want to deal with the swaging, buy the already prepped brass from brassbomber.com. I buy from them and do range pick up's. I do all my stuff in big stages and that way I always have bulks ready to reload. I wet tumble after resizing, after they are dry I will trim with the little crow trimmer. You can trim a ton very quickly. After trimming, I will sit down at the rcbs prep center and swage the crimp, debur and chamfer. Tried using the Dillon super swage, but I can move along pretty quickly on the prep center. After that and case gauge check, they are ready to go into the bins and ready to be loaded. I've gotten in the habit to not resize while loading at the same time. I have many tool heads for both machines, I use the 650 to do all the resizing. Throw the 308 tool head on that only has the sizing die, and knock out a few thousand, move those along to the next stage. Throw the 223 sizing tool head on and rip through 4 thousand rounds. Its mindless, but put the tunes on and before you know it, your moving on to the next stage. I cut 1000 brass at a time for the 300 blk, and same thing. Do big batches. I have big plastic bins for each stage, so it's very easy to keep track of the rifle rounds. Just what I do :-) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I've had it open all day the last couple of days. Hopefully it's just a matter of time. Just hang in there and its been a bit slow for a week or so with some flurries in there. Just have in stock items checked so you don't have a mess of things in there that are sold and have the powder area open. I have it open on my laptop at work and the second something pops up, you will nail it. Trust me, some of the powders take minutes for them to be gone. Depending on what you are looking for, these two places that aren't being monitored by the gunbot I have great luck with powders for the 223 in the past when I have been desperate. This is what I've found to be a good method. Have dinner with my wife, help with dishes. Hit the garage and load for an hour or 2 while she watches a show I don't like. Empty all tubes. Come in and watch shows with her I DO LIKE, load primer tubes. One night a week I prep brass. I like it!

that's what works for me. On my plain vanilla 550, 100 rds takes me 15 mins at a daydreaming pace, stopping every 10 rounds for a sip of beer or coffee (depending on whether it's morning or evening). I tumble and sort all my brass as I get it, so every piece except what I shot yesterday is already cleaned and ready. If you watch *any* sports on tv (or really anything at all on tv), you have time to reload. Lots of good ideas in here. Hopefully the OP can find something that will work with his personality. I certainly don't think anyone needs to have a super-fancy press in order to stay on top of a normal shooting schedule. Your right, I just need to figure out the schedule to keep the home life happy and the AR's happy too. :-)

Man! I should have gotten the 650. Well it's alright, the 550 will help me get back into the reloading, and Christmas is right around the corner. Merry Christmas to myself, Santa brought me a 650, well what do you know!!! :-)

This is true for everyone, in my opinion. OP, what kind of press do you have? With the 550 it's pretty quick to change calibers, but you do give up a little on the sustained rate of production. Leaving it set up I bet you can accomplish more than you think in those 20-30 minute spurts. I have a new 550 that I just received the other day and I have a rock chucker as well. I am getting the garage set up for my area and I'm gearing up to get back at it. I appreciate all of the responses. I figure I can throw some brass prep into a few stages when I find some time, and then once everything is set, I can just crank out the rounds as Basman had suggested.

Yeah, I do have some time intervals in between the woman getting dressed and hair , but I dont want to start and stop and be half way between stages of brass prep. I think the after everyone goes to sleep is the ticket.

Was wondering when everyone finds time to do their reloading? I used to reload back in my 20's and was out of the hobby for about 20 years and decided to pick it back up now. I do have a lot of time demands ( wife, two daughters, house\yard work, etc, etc etc) and I know I'm not the only one with the time demands, so how do you guys do it? After everyone has gone to sleep at night? Scheduled time on the weekends? Do share. Thanks Kevin
