  1. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of the new quad load port cuts for TTI. I'm testing a friends TTI M2 and fell in love with the way it shot but it has the standard load port cut. Before I decide to pull the trigger on one, I was wanted to see the difference between the two cuts before I decide. Thanks
  2. The primary use would be for 3 gun. However, I would also use the gun in local IDPA and USPSA matches.
  3. I'm looking at purchasing a STI to replace my M&P. Right now, the Marauder is on the top of my list. I was looking for any user feedback on the gun. Have you had any issues or complaints on the gun? Thanks
  4. I personally have the smaller limited 10 magwell. My buddy has the larger limited one but I have a gripe on both. The angles seem steeper than other magwells I've seen. Just trying to see what other options are out there or if there is going to be very much of a difference between companies.
  5. Does anyone here have pictures of a SJC or Carver bigmouth magwell? I'm using a SSS magwell and was wondering if the funnels on either the SJC or Carver are wider. I love how wide the Dawson ICE magwells are and was looking for alternatives since Dawson doesn't make magwells for the M&P yet.
  6. I'm wanting to upgrade my existing 10 round tube on my M2 to a 12 round tube but I'm concerned about shot hitting the end of the tube. Any field experience on if shooters are getting strikes on the end of their tube with similar set ups?
  7. Since it is Valentines day weekend, prices will be higher than usual. There are a good amount of motels (Motel 6, Days Inn, etc.) in Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo that may be around the 100 dollar per night rate. I'd suggest booking sooner than later since rooms tend to fill up for the holiday weekend.
  8. I will be attending SSMM3G for the first time this coming March. Does anyone remember an approximate round count per gun for last years match? Thanks
  9. I was looking for a buffer tube mounted sling mount to keep my rifle angled off the table when staged. Any suggestions for mounts for this purpose?
  10. The full kit is estimated at 170 but I have not heard a price for the trigger alone. To the best of my knowledge, they will only have an aluminum option but have not asked that specific question. The gauge was at the very bottom of the trigger to achieve the weight posted. If found that when my finger was not at the bottom of the trigger, I had a slight tendency to not fully engage the trigger safety. Since this trigger has only been through 800 rounds, I am not sure if that will change as the trigger "breaks in" (it seemed to happen with my original FSS trigger.)
  11. I will have to go back down to the local gun shop to use ththerigger gauge again but I do have this from the other day.
  12. One of the most common complaints that we hear from the M&P is the trigger. Weather the complaint is that the trigger had no reset or that there is too much pre travel and over travel there is an obvious common complaint from the factory trigger. Apex Tactical Specialties has been a leader in improving the M&P trigger. Their Forward Set Sear and Trigger kits have been able to resemble the beloved 1911 trigger feel. But they didn’t stop there. Scott and Randy from Apex have announced their new flat face trigger for the M&P to further more allow the end user to replicate a 1911 trigger feel. I was fortunate enough to receive a prototype for testing. After shooting three local pistol matches and logging a few hours at local ranges for practice and accuracy testing, this is what I found. The Apex flat faced trigger was designed to give the user a similar feel to the 1911 trigger while maintaining the trigger safety as found in the other Apex Enhancement triggers and trigger kits. As similar to the other Enhancement triggers, the amount of pre travel and over travel by about 20% and in conjunction with the Apex Forward Set sear kit, the achieved result is a smooth single action like trigger. Now where the Enhanced trigger stops in replicating the 1911 trigger, the flat face trigger continues to excel. While keeping the improvements to the pre travel and over travel, the flat face trigger now gives you the feeling of the commonly sought after 1911 flat trigger. The trigger feels like you are pressing the trigger directly to the rear of the trigger frame. As another result due to the design of the trigger, the mechanical advantage allows the user to achieve a lighter trigger pull without changing any springs. In my specific case, I had the Apex Competition Spring Kit installed in conjunction with the Aluminum Forward Set Sear and Trigger Kit. The end result with this was a consistent 2.8lbs trigger pull. Once the flat face trigger was installed, the trigger pull came down to 1.4lbs. The trigger came to me installed by Apex with the competition spring kit and Forward Set Sear kit. I immediately noticed how the flat faced trigger produced a very similar amount of pre travel and over travel to the 1911’s that I have felt. Even though the trigger breaks at 1.4lbs, I can still feel a small amount of take up in the trigger before hitting a wall right before the sear drops. Although it took a little practice to get used to, I was able to learn how to prep the trigger before breaking my shots on small steel plates during matches. During each match and visit to the range, I kept having competitors and recreational shooters dry fire and live fire the gun to see their impressions of it. Regardless if they were a new shooter to the range or a regular USPSA shooter, the reaction was the same. After pulling the trigger, everyone would have a grin on their face and simply say “wow”. People truly thought that it replicated the feel of the 1911 trigger and were impressed in how clean the trigger felt. In conclusion, Apex hit another home run with their product. The end result is exactly what I was personally wanting in a trigger to make the gun more comfortable and easy to shoot in competition while still maintaining every safety feature found on the other Apex triggers. I truly felt privileged to be able to test a prototype and hope that product overview can help you decide if the Apex flat faced trigger is right for you.
  13. I've been using Oakley Prizim lenses for a little while now. I've been very happy with them. TR22 for sunny days and the TR45 for overcast weather.
  14. I've posted on a few facebook groups but I wanted some input from this forum. I picked up a set of the Salomon Speedcross shoes since my Merrels are just about shot. Has anyone had issues wearing them for IDPA? They aren't really sports cleats IMO but I'm not sure if anyone has had problems with the aggressive tread and match rules.
  15. I would go to a local match and ask if you can try out different triggers. I found that I personally did not like the Geissele S3G triggers since it felt like it had a rolling break. I finally decided on the Timmney 3lbs trigger. I liked the single stage short break and reset for both close and distant targets. Of course, this is just what I found what worked for me the best.
  16. Not sure if I read the post correctly but it seems like the Nordic clamp is in your interests. You can add a rail directly on the clamp to attach flashlights or anything else that mounts to a 1913 rail.
  17. I use Contour cameras mounted on my ear pro and they get a good 1st person POV.
  18. A little while back I was transitioning from shotgun to rifle and planned on dumping the shotgun on bolt lock. My muscle memory had me flick the safety on even though I thought I was on bolt lock. Ends up there was still one round left in the gun. That would have made by day short if I didn't retain my muscle memory of hitting the safety. From now on, I'll hit the safety regardless. Just my two cents on the topic though.
  19. Any pictures of a 3 gun AR with the Geissele MK1 or any shooters that use this handguard? I have a JP 18" rifle length barrel and adjustable gas system on the way but I have two concerns. First concern is the weight. I would like a handguard a little lighter but I'm not sure if the extra half pound is going to make a worlds difference with splits between targets. Second concern is will I be able to access the set screw on the adjustable gas block with the MK1 or will it get in the way while trying to adjust the gas. Any advice or criticism welcome. Thanks
  20. IIRC Salient makes their ARs with a 14.5 barrel and rifle length gas system
