  3. SO, I quess that means you would'nt sell it me huh? I kinda figured you would keep it the way it sounded, I do have a line on another one though, still going to build the Hi-Cap 40 that S.A. refused to, Good Luck on your project dirtypool mike

  7. just about NO company pistol (Colt,Springfield,Par-ord ect) will warrent their pistol if used with reloads, I.E. if it brecks will using reloads the factory will not honor their warrenty, that being said, Welcome to the Shooting match , if you use reloads you can, download to the power factor for your division (limited, open ect) this will give you less recoil and better sight control, as well as SAVE you money, it don't take long to recover the money put out for a good reloader (Dillion, any of them) using once fired brass is also a big money saver! you can shop around for best buys of reloading supplies. And you are already miles ahead by being on this website, their are tons of information for reloading here. As well as anyone who is involved in shooting in any form. Now if you want a pistol that is covered for reloads try, Dawson,Brazo's, Tripp, Top shooting products, one and all. good luck
  8. The sti is a good one, did ya know that springfield offers a adjustable site for the factory cut? food for thought
  9. cr-speed, or hogue, both work great
  10. No luck this year, (WORK) been to last three, allways liked South Carolina
  11. a mil-spec will work out pretty good, I'd get the ramp polished, and as dirtypool40 said add whatever you're into and what ever the rules will allow
  12. I have a cougar model 8040 that I bought years ago, 10 round factory magazines, factory ammo (federal, winchester) allways shot real nice pattern at 20 yds. smooth trigger, was never real crazy about the sites though (never did change them) but on the whole a pretty nice pistol for a beretta, No was never really sold on the other models, requaredless on what the military said.
  13. Yep, just recieved a e-mail from debbie else in springfield custom shop she states: Per managment this pistol will NOT be produced. So there you have it, if you don't have one custom made in their shop, it would'nt happen. And that's a little pricey for most of us.
  14. Have ya'll checked the new 45 acp from springfield , SFG86684 Hi-Cap XD model 5 in. 13 rd, with purchase this year comes free cse, two magazines, kydex belt holster , double mag holder and magazine loader, saw one at the last 1500 gun and knive show at indy for 460.00. But I was already commited to another gun pruchase, but at that price I'll have one in a month
  15. The Caspian can be located at the USPSA website, under classified, ad#7659- Caspian 40 S&W with 5 Hi-cap magazines, and night sites, pistol located at Altus, Ok. he also has a open caspian listed. If you want a Caspian this would probably be a nice one, call the man a talk to him.
  16. Brazo's or dawson are excellent dealers, plus either one can tune it,and add a basepad for you
  17. , thank ya'll for your imput, I was kind'a leaning in the direction of the briley. The only real question was magazines, then I found the caspain and was kind'a torn, but I think it will be the Briley limited master, I know brazo's has a sale going on right now on a set of 4 tuned magazines with either dawson or grams basepads, sound like the set-up. Again, thank-you all very much

    Winchester

If this is wrong forum please move: This just release on AP; New Haven Conn. The traditional Winchester rifles carried by pioneers, movie starts and wild west lawman will be discontinued in March, a Belgian manufacture said, confirming the end of an american icon the became know as the "Gun that won the West". Once the U.S. Repeating Arms plant closes on March 31, the only rifles carrying the famous winchester name will be modern High-End models produced the Belgium, Japan and Portugal. The older models including the famous Winchester Model 94 will be scrapped! "The name will continue, but not with those traditional products," said Robert Sauvage, a spokesman for the Hestal Group, the Belgian company that owns U.S. Repeating Arms and the right to the Winchester name. WELL their it go's again, a american company bought by a foriegn competor, even a well loved as browning is, will close american plants, displace american workers and upset the gun lovers of American. Can any of you that are more in the know confirm this? Remember what happen when smith&wes belong to a britian company? they sold out to bill clintion's gun rules remember? and the gun shops could bearly give them alway, then Cylinder and Slide (I Think) bought the back to the U.S. then everything return to normal, will this be the case with winchester?
  19. I'll leave that too the professionals, the ones that really know what they are doing unlike me. I was merely taught how to do it. The real talent is the guys who busted knuckles, sweat and blood to learn how to build them right. I just followed. Though after the expeirence I'm quite confident in my ablitly to work on my gun. No more shipping the gun to the smith for minor work. I think I will build another gun. I'm thinking of a high cap Springfield for my wife. Not sure though. I'll have to think about it abit. Flyin40 I had a S.A. high-cap build last year, most the par-ord stuff will fit, along with other manufactures, went with dawson tip and bomar adj. rear, brown rod and mag.release, dawson ice funnel (BIG) after some magazine issues, par, meggar both work, after tuning the mag, dawson and grams pads work great, had to polish (trim) the slide release a little to get it to work, But it doe's shoot great (it out shoot's me) but unlike yourself I had to have all this work done by a smithy, when I retire I'd like to take a course on gun-smithing and maybe be a better shooter, But till then I'm stuck. Build her the s.a. if it turns out anything like this one it'll be great. (footnote) yea I'm still want a s.a. tgo 40S&W, but I don't think they are going to build it. GOOD LUCK!!!
  20. sounds good, looks excellent, shoots great, How about building me one? I which I had that much talent
  21. Looking more and more like S.A. TGO 40 S&W will be a no go this year Have found two Hi-Caps that I want but can only afford one: Briley limited master in 40 on Strayer-Voigt frame with no mags, #2 Caspian 40 with 5 magazine, both with low counts, both in excellent condition , question the sv mags and the sti mags will interchange correct? any one with knowledge on these? what do you think?
