  1. So I love the Primer Pro, I’ve only cleaned the thing once after probably 12k rounds. the one catch is that Winchester primers don’t work very well, something I wish I knew before I bought 6k of them haha. I’d also assume the Winchester issue transfers to other primers too. The issue is that the primers have a very slight amount of factory lube on them, which slows them down on the feed ramp and causes very slow filling of the primer tube. CCIs have been my go-to. they work great, and to be fair I’m sure MOST primers will work great, I just haven’t tried a ton of different brands to test it out. you truly only need one primer tube. While you’re loading 100rds, the primer tube is filling itself up, and it will fill way faster than you could ever load 100rds on the press, so it’s ready and waiting for me every time I need to refill the press. I don’t have experience w the Dillon RF100, or the new DAA equivalent, so I don’t have any info to offer there. I was previously using a Vibra Prime which wasn’t bad, but a hell of a lot slower compared to the Primer Pro. all you need to do w the primer pro is load the hopper up, turn it on and start loading. I hope that info helps
  2. Great feedback, thanks a ton for the info. I will be running an S2 w/ 11.5# spring as well so this is good news.
  3. Anyone here have experience w Fiocchi primers and the DAA Primer Pro? If you own one, you know that primers such as Winchesters have a very tiny amount of factory lube left on them, which gums up the mechanism and it becomes a pain in the ass to use. Hopefully fiocchis don’t have this problem, but wanted to throw it out to you all to hear experiences. as for Fiocchi SPP in general, they do seem to be decent primers from other threads I’ve read here. It’s the DAA issue I’m mostly concerned about.
  4. Don't listen to this guy, he doesn't know anything...
  5. This will be my second year going into the shooting season running a Shadow 2 Orange, I obtained the gun from another forum member last year, and did not really do anything to it, I simply just started running it and it ran great all season. This year I'm wondering if I should do some preventative maintenance or spring replacement, and want your all's input on what you all do in order to make sure your S2 keeps running. Note: I did replace the slide stop with a low profile one, so that is still pretty new. My understanding is that part is destined to fail at some point, but I don't think I'll need to worry about it this year.
  6. This is exactly the info I needed, thanks everyone. Will be ordering a set of Golds in the near future
  7. My understanding is that Ruby lenses are the best for red dot shooters, but they are not ideal at all if conditions aren't sunny. Gold lenses seem to be the more versatile of the two options, but they are not "as good" as Rubys are in sunny conditions w/ a red dot am I getting this info relatively correct? If I were to buy one pair of Hunters HD, does it make sense to just get the Golds since they are the most versatile? These will be prescription lenses, so given the price of them I didn't really want to buy multiple pairs if I could avoid it, at least for now.
  8. My problem mainly is I run the DAA auto primer tube filler, and that thing hates Winchesters due to their having some factory lube still left on the finished product. It gums up the primer filler and just kinda jacks stuff up in general. I wish it wasn't the case, but CCIs have always run just fine in it
  9. where’d you snag your primers from? I’m picky in that I only shoot CCIs for the most part, but rarely am I seeing any good buying opportunities
  10. Nick you’re sitting on 50k primers??? Im working with rookie numbers here at 8k
  11. Never thought about this possibility, but wow... good to know this can happen. I typically just dump brass into the hopper, spray it a little and start loading away (9mm and .40)

    CZ TS2 OR?

I was told it would be unlikely to be factory produced given that there is no IPSC division for it, I believe I was told that by a CZ team member if memory serves that said, maybe CZ Custom would sell optic ready models... whenever the TS2 Oranges actually come back on the market again.
  13. Personally I'd be for it, and I feel it would draw more of a distinction between CO and LO Also, it's a great excuse for me to throw a magwell on my Shadow 2, and let my wife know I'll be buying a TS2 Orange in the future
  14. The above advice... Burn the entire stage plan into your head, close your eyes and run through it. Oh, and then do it again and again. Do it at realistic speed, don't just fast forward through the stage in your head.
  15. Yeah, fair enough. Sadly I think you're gonna have a long-ish drive regardless of where you shoot a match in CO. But if you do make it out over to the COS area we'll be here
  16. Yeah, you're in a bit of a USPSA Dead Zone.... Why avoid Denver? Between Aurora, Boulder, Centennial there are many matches held per month.
  17. Lol make sure that bad larry stays full all the time I suppose. Would definitely require you to be eyes on at all times That is a legit setup, I love the protective case around it too. I've been using the DAA Auto Primer or whatever it's called... took some tweaking to get it right, and it HATES primers like Winchester which have a little factory grease left on them, but it's working great.
  18. He does not. He has the orthodox grip, I just got done with a two day class of his about three weeks ago. Watch his videos and you will see all support fingers are under the trigger guard, typical support hand grip. I started with my finger on the trigger guard. It was because of feedback I got on this very forum that I switched to the normal grip, and it did better my results. The second you begin to build tension on that one finger, you're gonna pull left/low. Granted this was almost a decade ago, I could try to switch back, but I don't think it's going to be a game changer for me performance-wise. Since Grauffel does it, it works, but this is assuming you have the insane level of tension awareness he does. I'm going to wager anyone reading this likely does not, otherwise we'd be talking about you instead of Eric G. This is really only a test that could be properly executed if you feel you are very maxed out on your shooting fundamentals, and put many thousands of rounds downrange using both techniques.
  19. God I love that we just hit page 4 on this subject From now on, the second I signup on Practiscore for a match, I won't even dryfire at my house anymore.
  20. Thanks for the clarification on that, I figured it must've been buried in a rule somewhere.
  21. Nationals and Area matches with Vendor tents where you can try out guns, or with practice bays (without RO present) clearly violate this rule for USPSA then.
  22. A match doesn't begin or end? Well hot damn... I can't shoot a USPSA match and then go have fun on the rifle range afterwards? I guess I should be DQ'd for putting my carry gun back on as I pull out of the range? The clock needs to strike midnight for me to hit the firing-line pistol bays?
  23. I've literally taken up the habit of doing short sprints to warm my legs up while awaiting my turn to shoot the stage, it looks dumb, but if you want those fast twitch muscles to be ready to fire you gotta do it, especially focusing on lateral sprints out of the "shooting athletic stance". This is obviously with my gun still in the holster, or bagged. now back to the topic, where the Match Directors at?!?!
  24. I truly think this comes down to whether you are a member of the range, and therefore allowed to be handling firearms on their property in general. I'll stick with my thesis: if you're a member, and not yet signed in, you are not subject to the match rules. Once you sign in, no touchy the gats. If not a member, you have no right to be shooting or handling guns on the range UNTIL you're signed in for the match, in which case the point is moot bc you obviously can't start ripping rounds or handling your gun or you'll be DQ'd. Curious to hear from Match Directors and get their take
  25. While I can see your moral point of view about helping set up, it doesn't really address the "legality" question of the post.
