Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks, wanted to make sure I wasn't blowing smoke. Indeed it is in Trinidad. The walmart was in Pueblo. I never understood why they didn't work with the local shop for stuff like this, but now that local shop has gone out of business. The school works at the typical pace of a state organization, which is sadly 2 or 3 years behind when we actually need something to happen. I've been keeping an eye on gunbroker as well, and will continue to do so. Appreciate the responses everyone.
  2. Do you have a citation for that law? Because I can't find any information to corroborate that. The local shops also mentioned nothing about that in regards to long guns. Sounds like you're right about getting an in-state ID.
  3. If this is the wrong area to post, please move or let me know for the next time. Anyways, was looking to get a 700 action to build off of and came across the wal mart special of an ADL for $377. Seems like a great deal other than the imbeciles behind the counter. In spite of state law saying that out of state residents can buy long guns, this wal mart was told me that they aren't allowed to sell to out of state residents. Has anyone else run into this before? I'm in a gunsmithing program out of my home state right now and the next project is on a 700. Dropped by a few of the local shops who unfortunately didn't have anything on hand. In addition to this, what,if any, is the difference between the action on a cheap ADL and say the standard long action that Brownells sells? What I'm wondering is if there is anywhere else to get a rifle for that kind of price. I really only need the action, and if I had a choice I'd rather shop somewhere else. I'm wondering if anyone has a solid source on something similar that is relatively inexpensive. Thanks for any info and for the quick vent. Yet another frustrating firearms experience at walmart. I'd rather them not sell guns than act like idiots behind the counter.
