  1. Wow! Haters have spoken! Isn't it US Practical Shooting Association? Cannot rifles be practical? I have always felt that competition, besides being great just because it's competition, is a way for people to become better, safer, shooters. And I do not think rifles and pistols should be forced to compete against each other, and I don't see a problem adding one more classification to the match. Sure it's a little more for the scorers to take into consideration, but not if using Practiscore etc Just don't understand why we're not feeling the love guys! We all just want to shoot! (Yes, im a 3gun competitor. Start throwing down the hate now if you want to! Lol). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So what is it called? Does it have a name? Or when someone asks, you just call it an Atlas Custom? Did it start as something else and they customized it? Or what? Hope these aren't stupid questions. I'm just not familiar with this company and I'm guessing I'm not the only one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Everyone seems to run 4.8-5.0 gr. N320 for the 180 gr bullets. Loading up some right now in fact. For STI most people are running a coal of 1.170 to 1.180. That's what I run, and that's what I have found dead from searching the posts here on the Enos forums.
  4. I really like the colored (khaki, grey, black) pants from Cabelas. There are two different brands that I buy. They have big pockets on the front for chamber flags or empty mags, spare mags etc. super comfortable. I HATE jeans when being active, and these are stretchy and super comfortable.
  5. I just started using Midways drag bag and I really like it. But I have a pistol range bag (Also Midway) to carry everything else for 3gun. Just used it all Thursday and left my cart a home for the first time. It worked out awesome for me. I prefer my Carr, but can't take it with me to fly away matches In its current config.
  6. I bought an inexpensive spotting scope on Amazon for $125 I think. I think it was a Simmons. Worked great for 200 yards, but no more. Once I started shooting out past 200 yds I had to step up the quality of my spotting scope. Then I go shooting with my buddy who has a Sworovski spotting scope and now anything else is just garbage. That thing is AMAZING!
  7. Oh? Good to know. Thanks for setting me straight! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. For fastest follow up shots, make sure you start with a rifle length gas system. Anything else and you will be chasing your tail trying to reduce felt recoil. I just watched something that said the new trend in 3gun is to go from 20" which has been the standard, to 18" which is the new standard for the top shooters in the sport.
  9. Aren't those ACOGS pretty heavy too? I mean relative to the sport. One of my shooting buddies just built a (less than) 6 lb AR, and it shoots like a dream. He did a lot of homework and testing to get the weight down and still have it shoot extremely quick second shots. I didn't think it would work. But it is as soft shooting as any of our match rifles, and some of us have spent thousands getting our race guns to shoot like Jerry's. I thought I heard the ACOGS are like 3.5 lbs? That's a lot, especially if you have a 6lb rifle!
  10. Great ingenuity! I love it when someone comes up with a great solution to a singular particular problem. Real nice!
  11. I was at a 3gun match Thursday and one of my buddies who is sponsored by Blade-tech had a couple that he was showing us. I think they might be a new product so you might have to email them and ask for it. I know Tom said the website is due for some updating so it might not be shown. Give them a try!
  12. When you say RUN IT, I hope you mean compete with it. Not carry it or anything like that. Last week I was shooting with a very experienced shooter and his factory Kimberly went full auto. I'm glad it was him and not several of the other guys at the match. He did a GREAT job of keeping the barrel down into the berm until it ran out of ammo. Thankfully it was a 1911 and not a 2011. Anyway,he said it was all factory parts, he'd been shooting it for years. It had a 2.5 # trigger before this happened. He said. I don't know enough to know if that is all true. But I do know what can happen when a very light trigger wears out. I would be very conscious of wear and stay on top of your maintenance. Also make sure that the light trigger is worth the risk (if any). Is it improving your splits? Better follow up times? Then run with it. If not, maybe a safer, 3 or 3.5# is a better solution. Just my 2 cents.
  13. My buddy got the thumb rest for his edge and we both love it! Yep, ordering a Blade-Tec holster for mine when it comes in for my edge now.
  14. I can't believe nobody has answered this and said to use Enos Slide Glide! I mean, this is his website! Frog lube is great for keeping things that build carbon from building carbon. That's about it. I love it on the piston areas of my AR's. Slide Glide light for Lowe temps, regular for anything above 60 degrees. A tube will last a long time, and I clean my guns after every match or practice session. I've heard you can run 5000 rounds without cleaning your pistol and Slid Glide will still work fine. Don't know about that, but it is good stuff.. It's available here somewhere or through Dillon Reloading. Other places as well, but those for sure. I put CLP on the wearing area of my barrel but all contact areas of slide and hammer etc. get Slid Glide. Good luck, happy shooting.
