  1. In competition you have to shoot, move and think all under pressure. Those fundamentals are helpful in a dangerous situation as well. If you have half a brain a lot of the gamer "will get you killed in the streets" tactics is a self correcting problem when bullets come at you. Self preservation is hard wired
  2. I took hoser's advice when wanting to only reload super comp 650 vs 1050...went with the 1050. Bolted it up adjusted the seating depth and charge no drama since.
  3. Your boom boom doesn't move whatsoever, reminds me of the intro to hot shots where it shows KC and max shooting in slow motion... First 10 seconds https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rsJoiA3fyIY
  4. I'm going to head up there rob, do you sign up ahead of time for this one?
  5. omg....nick that was epic... :roflol: :roflol:
  6. I think 160s are gods gift to production after shooting Darren's Singlestack btw...
  7. I would also get square with JAG and your PAO.
  8. FYI Arredondo now has the speed chute for a 1301 comp. Yay!
  9. Bradley Cooper spent a lot of time with Taya Kyle even reading they're email traffic in order to "get it right". Clearly Clint Eastwood went through a painstaking process to get his story correct and portray it to the best of his ability. Its patriotic, it tells a true story about some brave men and the political, moral and emotional difficulties those men faced. It also paints a accurate picture of what Military families have to endure. A little recoil over glorification...who cares.
  10. If you ever left the house (not leaving for the range) wearing an inner belt because you can't find your "normal" belt.
  11. hahaha, All kidding aside continue kickin butt dude.
  12. ...nasty nick brazzers....What it do...
  13. Damn dude that's what I thought. I took a look at the results a few days ago. I figure it HAD to have been gun trouble. Hey man I don't know if this will help but here is a my grip workout. 5x10 wrist curls (free weights, standing) 5 sets of plate pinches (till failure) 5 sets of weighted dead hangs till failure (using a pull up bar with a 45lb plate) 5 sets of Rack hangs till failure. set a squat rack low enough so you can just grab the bar and stand up straight and hang on. I switch grip as well, since you are just standing you can hang ALOT of weight...way more than what you can deadlift or squat) 3x10 finger push ups (Be careful stretch and work up to it, if you need to start on knees, using a open handed grip with tips touching the ground) 5 sets Forearm roller ( I made one with just a 2'' wooden dowel and 550 cord and hung a 25lb plate, support your forearms on a rack and roll that sucker up and down...this will cook your forearms and hands) doing a normal workout I usually pick 2 or 3 these exercises because I normally can't do anything else when I'm finished. Or I do them all as a work out. I change between heavy as I can hang on to and a lot of rest between sets to lighter weight and going right into another exercise like do a forearm roll then plate pinch immediately...that sucks! Also opposed to going to failure I will do a set with a time hack. I feel this is more dynamic and focuses on a lot of muscle groups that aid in recoil control. Obviously COC grippers are good I mix them into my workouts
  14. Nice job in New Mexico man. Glad you are starting to feel better. I'm sure it's pure agony and mentally taxing when you KNOW damn well you can perform at a certain level yet unable too. We are our own worst critic, so don't beat yourself up to bad dude.
  15. As far as the tread wearing fast for these shoes. Try the spikecross, the sole is a bit stiffer and they have little steel spikes. I only use them at the range, I change into them when I show up to the range. They do not wear nearly as fast I'm also a avid trail runner here in Colorado and I agree the speedcrosses wear fast. The spikecross was designed for running in adverse conditions namely ice/snow (that translates nicely in shooting matches in adverse conditions). they are a little warm in the summer (doesn't bother me) but they can grip like no other shoe, grips like a cleat but is light and agile.
  16. What don't you like about your Open Glock? The trigger and a top heavy slide/ light frame and I just like the feel and look of a 2011 moreThey will run, you can be competitive but it's like trying to make a reliable family car run A 10sec 1/4 mile, just really wasn't built to do that. however I would say they are cheaper to maintain and KC can run a open glock like a champ. I'm surprised you never saw it, well come to think of it I never shot it at dumont. I thought this would be a problem, but once I really did a lot of work on my Limited 34 it wasn't a huge issue for me.I have the Dawson brass magwell and a 23 round mag. It gets fairly bottom heavy. Yeah I would say if I did it again,Glock 17/34 slide with slide cuts anywhere from 12-9lb recoil spring SJC 90 degree SJC 11 port 40 cal spring loaded bearing your choice of trigger/magwell (heavy brass one) KKM barrel that's been throated long Autocomp with 115s/124. 1.160-1.145 coal And forget about it, that glock will run. Only thing I noticed after 10k of 176 PF My slide was getting a little more slop. Also the TF 170mm pads, work just fine you can Get 27-28 all day long no tuning, slap'em on and run For the comp I would use loctite 620 the green "sho-nuff" Kind or your comp will just get loose Once again just from what I have found that works For the little open glock experiences I had And I would reiterate go 2011. Hope that helps. Edit: use a OEM striker spring and use federal primers
  17. Yeah that's was the big appeal for me, but when you think of the cost of everything else it's really not that cheaperI ended up switching slides, triggers, comps then I went from an rmr to a carver mount to an SJC mount... that glock cost me money. That Brazos gun I shoot, picked it up for 2600 other than S. Pitt tweaking it a little I haven't touched And that gun runs. Damn I wish I would have known earlier I would have just given you all my zev/SJC stuff/170mm mags for free I had no use for it.

  19. I have had a home brewed SJC glock and a open 2011, save your money get a used 2011 If you want to shoot production or you have to defend yourself a glock is one of the best handguns for the job, conversely it just wasn't made to be a open gun. Just my lowly opinion.
