  1. I have the TTI kits in 4 Glock 34's, two of which are Gen 5. I don't shoot factory ammo, but if I did, I would shoot American brands of ammo and try it. My bet is that it will work with the reduced power striker spring. If not get a Wolff 4.5 pound striker spring and that should igite all primers. You will definitely benefit from changing our the striker spring A LOT. I would bet money, the TTI striker spring is very close to 4#. I went many years of competitive shooting before getting any light hits with a Wolff 4# striker spring. I have shot factory ammo in the past with a Wolff 4# striker spring and it ignited all brands of factory ammo including CCI. I am a big fan of Fiocci but I believe their primers are harder than the American brands. Perhaps others can validate that. https://www.gunsprings.com/GLOCK ®/cID1/mID5/dID116#985
  2. Blade-tech WRS. https://blade-tech.com/products/wrs-lv-2?variant=6067556220956 I don't always use the hood but I use it a lot. I can roll around on the gun while prone or jump out of a vehicle or whatever, it's not coming out. If the physicality factor is really high I previously ran two keeps on the belt also, but have switched to Arrendondo keeps to make sure that belt is going anywhere either.
  3. I paid high 3's if that's what your asking. I have a son who wants to shoot a lot and a little girl a little recoil sensitive. I think it's perfect for that.
  4. Thanks I have some - connectors laying around and will try one. I think Glock specifically engineered the locking block differently otherwise it would have been interchangeable with the compact frames. All the fire control components seem the same in the frame. Thanks again!
  5. We picked up a Glock 44 tonight. I feel like I have a fair amount of experience with 22 LR pistol, I shot Bullseye for a couple of years (which I find totally boring now). Our dealer had 3 in stock and we picked the gun that felt like it had the lightest trigger of the three. We ran 220 rounds through the gun. Two hundred rounds were CCI mini mag, and 20 were Federal standard velocity bulk target that Walmart sold years ago. The gun ran 100%. We were at a indoor range and the bulk Federals were plain lead bullets and there was more smoke, less desirable inside. The slide did not lock back every single time for my wife. It was reasonably accurate but shot about 0.5" high at 10 yards. It is basically like shooting a centerfire Glock except for the sights barely move off target with a quiet report. I thought the trigger felt a little stout when dry firing but it felt nice enough shooting it. I have at minimal 3.5 pound connectors in every other Glock I have including the carry guns but I do not plan to change the trigger. I pulled back on the striker and the striker spring feels pretty strong. The barrel cleaned up easy with some Hoppes. I was worried about cleaning out lead, but a few passes with a nylon brush and a single patch and it was pristine. I have a 12 year old that likes shooting and this will be a good skill building tool for him, lots of rounds to build good habits. My wife is a competitive 3 gunner also and so many woman have asked her for training. We feel like this would be a good tool for that as well. It was genuinely and surprisingly fun to shoot.
  6. I always drive between stages. Some folks have UTV's. Walking would likely be a no go except between a couple of stages in "the bays."
  7. We have 4 Glocks 34's in the stable. Two are Gen 3 guns and the other two are Gen 5 guns. I recorded a 25 FPS decrease in velocity with the Gen 5 gun, almost exactly shooting the same as a Gen 3 gun with .1 grains less propellant. The Gen 5 gun was new at the time and the Gen 3 gun had many thousand of rounds down the barrel. I have not checked it in a year or two. I just went up a .1 grains and shot the gun. I have said it a lot in other threads but I will add it hear as well. I can tell the Gen 5 guns are more accurate.
  8. Yes that is correct at a 1.145 COL which is longer than a lot of people load. My velocities are always lower than most posted velocities on this forum, and I live in the mountains. I got between 880-905 (12 feet behind the chrono) depending on the gun. I am igniting the propellant with Federal 100's. The load data listed on Aliants website has much shorter COL's than mine and I have considered shortening the round to 1.135. BUT, we have run about 25K of this COL and it runs super well in Glocks and STI's (well I have one STI that needs a little tuning now shocker).
  9. Yes I have already done the load development and I am going up 1/10th of a grain on the SP. N320 is a fabulous propellant but its expensive. Sport Pistol meters a little better and I think it's a little more accurate. I had a small POI shift up. I am using Sport Pistol for 40 and it shoots soft as well (I use 180's).
  10. VV N320 3.4 gr PD 147 COL 1.145, when that is gone i am switching to Sport Pistol 3.5 grains everything else the same. Basically Sport Pistol is half the price of N320, which is an outstanding propellant.
  11. Interesting, thanks for the follow up!
  12. No I have not. I googled it and it looks like a stock Glock 34 slide in all the pics. I can see weight not in the slide.
  13. I would think adding reciprocating weight in the slide would be less than desirable for a game gun, causing it to nose dive more when going into battery. Everyone is taking weight out of slides these days.
  14. Seems about a grain high for a 77, about right for a 69. The highest published load data I know of for 8208 is 23.2 grain on the Hodgdon site for a 77 grain Sierra. I load above that.
  15. With the Dillon crimp dies I had more movement than with uncrimped rounds. Also as I recollect I had no movement the first few chamberings. How many thousands movement did you get if I may inquire?
  16. Long story short try this: Load two dummy rounds, one with a crimp and one without. Chamber the rounds 10 times and check the COAL as you go. I no longer crimp.
  17. Not an exact answer to your question, but; my wife's 3 gun rifles have the Odin Works Ultra-lite barrels. They are 16" long and 1# 6 oz. It does have any thermal drift that I have noted. We have 3 of them now, 2 for wife and 1 for a child, and they are fantastic. I want to do a lightweight build with one now. I get them on sale at Primary Arms for about $200. The last two I thermofit the barrel with the undersize BCM upper (which I also trued and bedded), and those barrels are shooting below .75 MOA. The first barrel I mounted just standard shoots sub moa with 75 and 77 grain bullets and multiple propellants. Regarding the WOA barrels, I have heard great things about them. I shoot with someone who has two of them, but he has a heavy profile, something I believe is not needed based on my 3 gun experience. I called WOA about the barrel you are posting about and asked if I could get one made with a Kreiger blank, and they told me it was not needed for 3 gun. I also asked them if they would chop an inch off the the front. With the WOA proprietary gas system, it should have the same dwell time as a rifle gas system on an 18' barrel, and they said they would do it. I still want to try one, but I keep getting those Odin barrels on sale cheap, and they are working so awesome. Here in the Carolinas, we have a lot of great matches and shoot out to 500 with some regularity, and my wife crushes the long-range stuff with a lightweight barrel. We don't have small targets in 3 gun. We also often do a stage with round counts of 60 or more rounds of the rifle (we have to change a D60), and the lightweight barrels are performing well. I would not go above a 0.75 diameter barrel for 3 gun personally. Admittedly I do have a mild barrel addiction. Perhaps it is better to say it's an area of competitive interest, but I find it interesting that WOA puts more metal at the back of the barrel, and JP put more metal upfront. I have read that John Pauls's favorite barrel in the JP lightweight 18" for whatever that is worth. I ran 18" rifle gas barrels for 4 or 5 seasons, but now I am trying 16" mid-length because I can. If you buy the lightweight WOA barrel and it does not work out, you can always change barrels. I will predict you will be pleased with the lightweight WOA barrel.
  18. The BCM upper is intentionally undersized and requires heating for barrel installation. Its all I use now and I think it make a difference. It should increase the rigidity of the upper barrel interface, as would bedding the action.
  19. I think $300 is a more realistic number in general. However, I have obtained two Odin Works barrels on sale very close to the $200 price point from Primary Arms. All are sub moa and my Odin 3 gun barrel is solid sub 0.5 moa, but that was thermofit into a BCM upper that I trued the face on and bedded. If you do not understand the significance of that, it is worth exploring. I would check out Criterion barrels series on accurizing the AR. Wilde chamber cuts are more accurate in my opinion also.
  20. Make sure you pull a couple of bullets after you get everything set up with the LEE FCD. This will illustrate the strength of the crimp, and more importantly, if you see what looks like a new cannulaure on the bullet, you will know the crimp is too much. This is fairly easy to do with plated bullets owing to the thin nature of the plating, at least it was for me .
  21. I have had a problem with coated bullets being to fat at the ogive to chamber correctly without being loaded shorter than I was comfortable with. Are they coated bullets?
  22. I have Dawson non adjustable on our Glock 34's and they are pretty much perfect. I trust Dawson, plus they will make it right.
  23. I would not worry about hurting that gun. If you break it which is unlikely, send it to Glock and they will fix it cheap or free. If your running +P ammo you can use the factory RSA if you want. My wife and I have Gen 5 34's and we are running 13 pound springs with softer match ammo.
  24. There is still physicality in 3 gun matches, not all, but many. A thought.
  25. I think I am going AR Gold moving forward. We bought one used from a friend who said he can outrun the AR Gold but that is the first I heard of that.
