  1. Limited minor is not competitive! If it was you would see people shooting it at Nationals. People have shot minor at Nationals but by accident only!

Perhaps what you mean is it's not competitive for *national class shooters*. As evidenced by the posts above yours, it is clearly competitive for some shooters that are not national class.

One would assume that his skills increased over a year of competition and practice. This is not a very good comparison!

  2. Does anyone think it is ironic that Limcat uses Infinity grips, barrels, triggers and other parts in there guns?

The only SV part in my Limcat is the trigger bow/shoe, and that was put in at my request. Check it out on Sat.

I've seen and fondled your Han Solo blaster. That SV trigger sure is nice.

  3. Now,if it wasn't partially the gun everyone would be shooting these! You can get these for $170. There are magazines that cost that much for pistols we shoot. You can't get a trigger like 2011 out of a striker fired pistol. Buy a used 2011.

  4. SVI mag releases are interchangeable from left to right side on their grips(provided yout don't order the IDPA release). You would need to get another mag button for $30 bucks or so to go from oNE sidea to the other.

  5. Dirt,

If you are use to shooting a standard 2011 grip and have normal size hands you might want to look at the SVI small competition grip. I tried that back to back against the signature grip. The front sight was not where I wanted it on the draw with the Signature grip. It has just enough cut out that your wrist angle needs to change. If your back-up gun has a different grip it will take some time to transition from one grip to the other.

On the mobius cut-out, I have never noticed it or bothered me. I belive it takes about 1 1/2 oz out of the grip on a steel grip.

The aggressive texture makes grip adjustments a little difficult so if you have to shift your grip for mag changes the tactical or standard texture might be something to think about.

  6. Dirt,

If you order a SVI the mag release button is interchangeable from left to right(as long as you don't order the IDPA legal mag release). All you would need to do as get another checkered button to add. One other item is for the SVI right side mag release needs to use New Style SVI mags or modify STI mags so they have a mag catch window on both sides.

  7. The real question is why does it even matter if a stage is biased one way or another? All you can do is perform to your current skill level after the buzzer goes off. If you try to "Shot Faster" because its a high hit factor stage all that will do is create worse hits because you are trying to perform beyond your current skill level.

This game is about shooting A's as soon as possible. The hit factor bias of the stage does not change that basic requirement.

The only time I will try to figure out the possible hit factor of a stage is if there is a disappearing target that I am thinking about skipping. But even then, for most major matches, its a rare case where skipping it is worth it from a stage HF perspective.

Worry about the total percentage of points shot instead. If you are not shooting 90% - 95% of the possible points in the match then you have other major issues that you need to fix first before even worrying about the possible Hit Factor of a stage.

Is the 90-95 before or after penalties? The FL Open was rough on me! I think using the thing on the front of the pistol would have helped me.

  8. I've never understood the mind set that thinks too many classes hurts the sport. Yes, some classes will not have the participation of the more popular classes, but it certainly doesn't seem to hurt the NHRA. They have over 200 classes within 15 different categories.

You are right but it is nothing more than a bracket race until you race someone in the same class. I don't think we are going to start putting dial in times on our shirts.

  9. Production shooters shooting minor with pistols that weigh more than a 2011 are not the people to ask this question. (It's funny that on that PPS they were talking about adding different people to the line up like a limited shooter then they answer a question like that) Can anyone tell me a top limited shooter that shoots a polymer gun besides Vogel who puts a flashlight with lead in it. Weight helps but the trigger is the real benefit between a polymer frame gun and a 2011.
