Thanks guys. Yea thats the plan. First im lookin to find out the first steps. i know i want to start with single stack competitions. so obviously i need a pistol and rig. but ive got the next 6-7 months to get everything figured out. one thing ive never really heard or really been able to figure out tho, is there a prize or anything for actually placing?

I grew up around guns and have spent the last 5 1/2- 6 years in the military. Im finishing up my last deployment and plan on using the extra money to buy a decent 1911 and get into single stack shooting competitions. Never shot in a competition before, so as of now i have no clue about how the rules are or how to even get started. so i guess you can say this is the beginning of that long journey. Anyways, names brian, grew up in cali for the most part, ive done a lot of hunting there as well as colorado and utah. The majority of my shooting has been with shotguns and rifles and i didnt really get into pistols until i joined the military and found that i have a knack for it. But yea, i am looking forward to learning everything i can about the sport. cant wait to meet you guys.
