Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. +1 for the Specwar 762. I love mine and it fits the multi purpose description you gave perfectly. If you are going to use the can on an SBR or at very high rates of fire I would stay away from titanium. I love Thunder Beast suppressors for precision work but they really aren't designed to handle the abuse an SBR or many consecutive rapid fire strings put them through.
  2. Thanks for the post. I'm fairly new to pistols and wanting to get started training and doing USPSA competitions.
  3. In the good parts of our country you really don't have to go through much effort at all to prove a home defense shooting was justified. I see where plenty of lethal home defense shootings in my area are closed cases with little to no hassle to the homeowner. Wouldn't make any difference what kind of ammo or weapon they shot the person with... On the other side of things if you live in an area where you will be hassled over it then be prepared to have anything possible used against you in court.
  4. What is the reason for doing the build in this way? The advantage of the 338 Spectre is to cycle and run subsonic loads in a semi automatic platform. If you just want a bolt rifle with AR ergonomics look into a build with a chassis such as the XLR.
  5. Thanks. Just got a new M&P and need more magazines to do my first USPSA Production match.
  6. Well I have an issue with seeing things and just having to have it and bought a 4.25" today. I got the Range and Carry package with the 3 magazines and Blade-Tech holster and magazine pouch for the same price as the Pro series and my dealer installed Trijicon HDs for me for less money than I could find them anywhere online . I'm a little second guessing not holding out for the Pro but I went I'm going to use this to get my feet wet in USPSA and decide how much time and money I want to invest in the sport. Thanks for your help everyone, even though I sort of impulse bought a different direction than planned.
  7. I just bought a new M&P and sights from my local dealer and he replaced the sights for me in five or ten minutes right in his shop. Maybe there is something to the direction it has to be removed.
  8. There are different reticles. Get the G2DMR if you get one. The Horus reticles are way too busy. I always hold for wind and am usually somewhere in the middle magnification ranges so like FFP. Very nice when shooting small targets to spot your miss and dial the elevation correction before next shot also. For hunting use only I guess FFP wouldn't be as big of a deal though. Is the scope going to be hunting only or target shooting also?
  9. If you aren't sold on SFP Bushnell HDMR / ERS. So many good options out there but I have always been super impressed with the Bushnell for the money. SWFA SS HD has really good glass for in that price range also. Actually HDMR and SS HD are a bit less money that the NXS.
  10. So how much is this limited by the pistol with entry level Production pistols like M&P, Glock, CZ...? I'm about to get an M&P Pro and curious just what it's capable of for when I start reloading for it.
  11. Just wanted to say thanks to those that posted the tips about transitioning with legs rather than arms and waist. I'm new to USPSA and trying to learn things correctly the first time to keep from developing bad habits.
  12. I have the used to be in really good shape and sometimes for some reason think I still am problem as well. Lol
  13. I got curious and did a little digging for you and it looks like you're good to go as long as you abide by the following... From https://www.atf.gov/content/firearms-frequently-asked-questions-unlicensed-persons#shipping-firearms-additional Q: May a nonlicensee ship firearms interstate for his or her use in hunting or other lawful activity? Yes. A person may ship a firearm to himself or herself in care of another person in the State where he or she intends to hunt or engage in any other lawful activity. The package should be addressed to the owner. Persons other than the owner should not open the package and take possession of the firearm.
  14. Will you be the person taking delivery of the firearm or would your friend? I believe that would be the yes or no to the legal question.
