  1. Thanks for the info. Once the HS6 has been depleted, I was going to give Silhouette a try. Any thoughts on how HEAT impacts HS6. Does it make it run faster or slower? OS
  2. I loaded up some at 8.5 with an OAL of 1.165. I will chrono shortly and share the results. Thanks to all! OS
  3. I am running a solid barrel with a Dawson awesome comp. No pressure issues with 8.5? OS
  4. So, with 8.3 grains of HS-6 under a 124gr Montana Gold HP bullet, I am hitting 166+/- power factor. Looking to see what others are running, to see how high I need to go to get just above 170pf. Also, how does heat affect HS-6? I chrono'd the loads when it was 95 and Sunny. Thanks!! OS
  5. I recently installed CCGunwork's sideways mount on my open gun. After each trip to the range, after getting it sighted in, all is well. During the next trip out, all of my shots are now hitting right. After the third time, I have come to thinking on this and the only thing I can think of is that when I bag the pistol and zip it up, the pressure of the bag is pushing down on the c-more. Is this possible? I didn't think so but I cannot think of anything else. I have of course checked all of the screws, etc and they are all tight. Any help on this riddle would be appreciated and I want to like this setup but can't stick with it if I keep losing my zero. TIA! OS
  6. Cool. My case of Montana Gold 124gr JHP are on their way and should be here by the end of the week. Nice! OS
  7. At 1.169, how much of the bullet was in the case? Not much I am guessing. OS
  8. Thanks to all. I bought just a box of Berry's for the sake of testing. In talking with the good folks at Scheumann, because of the barrel purchased, they felt the plating would remain intact. That said, since I need to get this right, I will pick up some Montana Gold Bullets. As for length, I will drop to 1.160 and see how thing go. Still need to chrono, etc. You guys are great. See you on the range! OS
  9. Ah'ha! Thanks, brother. At 1.155, I will still be OK on pressures? OS
  10. So I took my new 9MM Open Gun out today for a test run. It ran fine, actually better than expected. We have just have a few things to tweak and then all is well. I read many of thread on BE and came away with a few loads that I tried and I am happy with. I have settled on a 124gr Berry HP bullet and HS-6 for powder. I worked up a 7.9 and 8.1 load but haven't chrono'd either as of yet. The gun cycled fine with a 9# spring. The slide has not yet been lighten (next phase) I have my OAL at 1.165 which is where my my question comes in. I think the rounds are too long. .I am using STI 9mm mags with spacers. In my Eagle I run 1.165 round nose minor loads. With the flat nose, I feel I need to shorten them up. How short can they get before they will start impacting pressures The frame is an STI 2011 frame, Scheumann barrel and STI slide. Round Nose Minor bullets fed fine, the JHP at this length were nut very smooth, hence the question. I want to thank all of those on BE that have shared their knowledge thus far. You have been a huge help to me. It is my hope that one of the 9MM Major Gurus will help me a long on this one. God Bless, OS

  13. If you are interest in some video from the WIIT, click below. "Whack A Mole" is the last stage on the video. Ralph shows the correct way to shoot that stage, I unfortunately show you the wrong way... OS http://www.pistolgear.com/assets/2007%20WIIT.wmv
  14. The airsoft will break the cardboard, that is not the problem. At $.95 each, that can be a problem. Once we decide on target, paper versus cardboard, I will send Chris an e-mail to see if he can work us a bulk price. Thanks to all for your help!
  15. In preparation for next Spring, when the Sun returns and we can again venture outdoors, a group of us are planning to hold weekly indoor matches using airsoft guns. The idea is to find cardboard targets that are 2/3 or 1/2 scale of an official USPSA target. The goal is aim small, miss small and because of the amount of space, the smaller targets will make it more challenging. I checked with a few of the target suppliers, and unless I missed them, I don't see any listed. Anyone have a source for such targets? If you setup a similar matches, please let us know what you do and what you have learned. Regards, Scott
  16. Can someone confirm if Rich started the match with the XD Subcompact or if he switched to it after starting with another gun? Looks like a helluva match!
  17. My 9mm load is Zero 147g JHP under 3.2grains of TiteGroup with an OAL of 1.150. I get a PF of 132 withth is load from my XD. I receive the recipe from Steve Anderson.
  18. Here ya go... http://www.wisconsinshooters.com/documents...06/08-05-06.htm
  19. +1. The match was fun. Although attendance was low, that made for a much better time when it came time for the prize table. Congrats to Ben Stoeger for whooping everyone's butt. Scott
  20. Dawson makes a low-profile carry sight for the XD that may meet your needs. You have the option of putting both fiber in the front and in the rear. Many of our customers have gone this route and are happy with the results. If you are looking for adjustable sights, the Dawson Adjustable Sights and the BoMars that j2fast mentioned are both good options for the XD. All of my XDs have Dawson Adjustable Sights (fiber front and rear). OS
  21. Having sold 100+ kits for Ralph, I am aware of just one kit that doubled and the fix was a new connector. Another guy claimed a double, but in the end, the issue was the shooter riding the trigger and bouncing his finger. My experience has been, if a gun doubles, it doubles often; like every magazine. Chris, what connector are you running? Did it come with your kit? I have connector here if you are wanting to give it a try. As for contacting Ralph, e-mail is the best as he can reply from wherever he is. Happy 4th, Scott
