  1. That's one nice looking blaster Tim. I see you're serious about that upcoming SS / Production match at NTPS. Well I had to do something since I sold you my production gun.
  2. Here is my new SS. What do you think?

    over & under Shotgun

IMHO, go somewhere that has a bunch of the brands mentioned and see what fits you the best. That is the most important thing when it comes to a shotgun. How does it come up when you shoulder it? Does it line up with your line of sight when you shoulder it with your eyes closed and then open them after it is shouldered? That being said you can fit a shotgun somewhat to the shooter but you need a smith that is a true shotgunner and understands what you need and how to give it to you.
  4. We have the matched scored 5 minutes after last shot fired (NTPS.org). Palm scoring system baby!!! It totally rocks!
  5. Longest joke ever. And I couldn't find the punch line. Not appropriate for the humor section. Where is a moderator when you need one?
  6. It's not just goods either. My gunsmith had a ton of problems with paypal for services he rendered. It really screwed him up for a long time trying to get money that they owed him.
  7. Well, if you read what I wrote again you will see that I wrote "people who demonize us and those that keep the ignorance alive". I put them in the keeping the ignorance alive category. And although I am a capitalist through and through and understand to some extent why they might have a policy like that, I could never put fear of litigation or profits above our essential liberties. If they do nothing illegal what do the have to fear??? Yep, you can be sued for anything but I'm sure they have the resources to handle a frivolous law suit.
  8. It was tough for me too. I have bought and sold a ton on ebay. I have used papal in countless transactions and it will not be easy for me. But I'm tired of people who demonize us and those who keep the ignorance alive. I just thought if not a guy like me then who will take a stance?
  9. I just closed both my ebay and paypal accounts!!! I have decided to put my money where my mouth is and not deal with these anti gun idiots!!! They will never get another dime from me I hope everyone does the same. Tim

    OPSEC

I didn't know JJ was a FAM. Man he is really really busy.
  11. It would gut the sport!!!! No swingers!!! No Clam shells!! No Texas Stars!!!!! No plate racks!! It would have to be an ALL PAPER SPORT. Yea, I know you can activate swingers with doors but that would drastically limit how you can design a stage. You just limit way too many options. And how many doors do you want to set up for a local match?????? Can you say labor intensive???
  12. +1 Recoil does not matter much at all (until you get to open...total different game). You will learn to time a gun just as fast shooting major. So you are gaining nothing. Just giving up a bunch of points. And even The Big Dogs can't afford to loose the points when shooting 6 or 7 Cs on a 32 round course. And yes they all shoot D's too (go look at the match summaries at the area matches this year). The extra rounds can help but it will not out way the disadvantages.
  13. I have a youngster about ready to shoot his first match and I'm really looking forward to it. But it will be with an airsoft or his ruger 22-45 but it will be scored seperate from the match so if he wants to see how he did he can. A 22 can not knock down even a plate let alone a popper activator. And like others have said there is no practical application for a 22. My son will shoot either 22 or airsoft for a fun run until he can handle recoil and then we will shoot for score. And the way he has been shooting his airsoft, Dad could be in real trouble. So a big no on 22's from me.
  14. I always load at least 18 on every stage. Don't sweat the small stuff!!!!
  15. That's actually one of the worst tests you can do. There is a difference between flinching (before the shot) and compensating for recoil (after the shot) that this drill doesn't take into consideration. The problem is you are moving the gun before the bullet is out of the barrel. Your only choice of action is to see more. If your sights are on target at the instant the bullet leaves the barrel, it's impossible to miss. There is no quick fix. This is something you need to sort out through practice. Step one is to make sure you don't have a flinch. There are several threads on here that go into good detail of fixing that. +1 Yep, I totally agree. You have to see your sights lift on every shot. This takes discipline but it is the only way to get better and fix the problem you are having. Also, when you don't see your sights lift you can't call your shots and you can't drive the gun to the next target nearly as fast. And although it may seem slow it is by far faster. You probably hear folks say going fast seems slow. This is one of the reasons. You are in total control of your gun and your mind and that feels a little slow sometimes. But your accuracy and speed will both increase.
  16. I had a 357 sig go thru my press and took it to area 6 (shooting 40 of course). The jam cost me 7+ seconds. Funny thing is I case gauged and somehow it made the cut. I still have the round and the case is just a smidgen too long to function. I will check the case length from now on!!!!!!!
  17. I have to go with Glen as well. Funny thing is I like the 12yo better than the 18. Does that mean I'm pedestrian?
  18. Great shooting on that stage Chuck! After I shot the stage I was thinking if I shot this again I might try putting two on the activator... shoot the rest of the steel and then run to the sweet spot and take the 4 static targets and then the first DT (if it's there) and blow off the second DT. I would love to know how that would turn out. Did anyone try that??
  19. Even with a make up shot on the steel the drop turners were not ready. My plan was to not take them but because I missed one of the steel I thought they might be ready for me but they were not. The hesitation probably cost me a second. The stage needed two pieces of paper with the steel to make the DTs relevant. It was still a great stage though and I love the activator!!
  20. There was a backing up stage????? I guess I shot that one during my heat stroke and just don't remember.
  21. +1 for the citizen. I loved my first one so much I bought another one. The eco-drive perpetual calender totally rocks! It changes time zones and I use the stop watch on activators all the time.
  22. Glad that you where in my group on Friday. You shot well. Congrats on 1st Master. Chris C. Thanks Chris. And thanks again for that gator aid at the end of the day. I was fading fast after running out of both water and gator aid and you got me through the last two stages with that wonderful blue liquid. Hope to see you up in Owensboro sometime soon. Tim
  23. I have to say that this was the best match I have been to this year. The stages were well thought out and offered all the challenges one would hope for at a level 2 or 3 match. A ton of variety from stage to stage as well. My hats off to Dave and all who helped put on this match. You all should be proud. TOP NOTCH!! I really enjoyed shooting with the RO's on Friday and meeting so many great folks. Hope to be at this match next year for sure.
