I recently shot with someone that had what I thought was a laser on the bottom of his M&P carry optic. This was a level 2 match. After the match, I told his buddy that I didn’t think he could have a laser. He said it’s not a laser, it’s a weight. He had a weight attached to the bottom of his picatinny rail. He gun was setup by a very well know shooter. I wasn’t shooting C. O., so it didn’t matter to me.

I am also having problems. I had a 5.56 VLTOR upper that worked great. Didn't like the gas in the face. Changed the upper to a matrix arms 9mm side charger. VLTOR ran flawless, I only get 4 to 5 rounds before a jam. Of course you contact the various manufactures and they point at other manufacturers. What I did notice was a lot of slop in the ejector. I actually think the ejector is missing the brass some times. I shimmed the ejector with a 0.022" feeler gauge. I've also filed the ejector to contact the brass and push it out directly out the ejection port. I think in my case it the overall tolerance of the setup and the small ejection port. I'm thinking of opening the port. I decided that a unreliable rifle won't work for competition. So I bought a SIG MPX. Locking bolt will minimize the unburnt powder and fouling. I've heard X Products and Matrix Arms are the same. I have a quarter circle 10 lower, worked great with a 556 VLTOR upper, now I'm getting spent brass wedged about a live round feeding in the chamber. Emailed Matrix Arms, was pointed everywhere but their upper. I will take a look at everything, but I know I have a gouge in my upper where the bolt slammed on an empty case. Love the side charger layout, hate the gas in the face with a standard upper.

Here is my issue I have a quarter circle 10 lower. I had a blotter upper with raptor charging handle. Functioned fine. I changed to the matrix side charging and jamming about every 4th or 5th round. Running 147gr @139pf. Ran a few 115gr @ 160pf it ran great. Not sure if it's the upper or the load, will adjust the load and try it again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Check the feed lips on the mag. It looks like the front of thefeed lips are narrower than the rear.

I've got a 90 degree offset mount, and I'm right handed. I had no problem putting the slide racker on the left side. It works like a charm. I would try left side first, if you have problems swap it. They make extended slide rackers for 90 degree mounts.

Gary is good. He did my Open gun in a week and a half. I wasn't sure what to expect, but what I got back was much more than I expected. I haven't had a problem with the gun. Plenty of shooter problems and some mag problems. My scores have improved.

Mine came with a Smith and Alexander mag guide, it worked fine.

As far as Magazines, MBX or SPS will work. I've got both, MBX is more expensive but probably better. SPS is about 2/3rds the price from Spain. I'm not sure about the Deltapoint, I've got one on a XDM that worked fine shooting minor.

I may have to shoot over a call and have him go through it. The previous owner did a trigger job on it that I like a lot. I have decided on VZ grips and a Dawson magwell. I mentioned before that I have a Caspian 9mm slide now with no sight cuts and is so tight I can't get it on all the way. All that is left is the CMORE and the barrel / comp and getting someone to fit it all together. I did email Don, he told me he charges more for Para builds. I think it has to do with the grip and extra work. It wasn't much, a couple hundred. Would you happen to know if he does slide milling? I would like to reduce the weight of the slide and add a slide racker. I'm sure Don does, if not you might want to checkout Gary Natale at gansguns.com, I had a full custom build from him, took him a week and a half to turn a box of parts into a one off custom gun. But why did they specify, "since you are in Louisiana?" Did they mean since you are in the U.S.? I'm not sure, I doubt there are any exceptions for Louisiana. I would think the laws that apply would be Federal, and would be the same for every state. Maybe certain anti-gun state laws forbid the mailing of firearms by an individual.

I'm the guy that has Troupe's old Para. Still shoots good, I'm thinking about sending back to Don Fraley to have him go through it. The only problem I have is the dust cover is thin, not much for the mount screws to bite into. As far as magazines, I bout 170's and 140's from SPS for a decent price. They ran good out of the box.

Below is part of the email. Is this correct, don't want to cross King O. Because we are the manufacturer and have an FFL license you can ship the firearm directly to us. If all we do is repair the firearm then we can ship it directly back to you. If we do need to replace this firearm, because you are in Louisiana we can send the replacement directly to you as long as the replacement is the same make and model. Attached to this email is an RMA form letter that needs to be printed, filled out and included with your firearm when you ship it back to us. If you are an FFL dealer I have also attached a copy of our FFL license. Also attached to this email is your FedEx shipping tag and shipping receipt. When preparing your firearm for shipping please take note of the following. MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THE FIREARM IS NOT LOADED AND THE HAMMER IS NOT COCKED. DO NOT INCLUDE ANY LIVE AMMO IN THE BOX WITH THE FIREARM. If you are an FFL dealer YOU MUST include a copy of your FFL license, with every firearm to be added to queue for repair. (Listed in queue by date of receival must have FFL with firearm to be received.) Place the firearm back in its case, and put the case in a shipping box along with the completed return form. Then print the FedEx label and tape it to your shipping box. You can then take the box to a FedEx Express location. Keep the shipping receipt for your records, it has the tracking number on it. You can check the FedEx web site using that tracking number to make sure your firearm has arrived here. When your firearm is finished we will send you an email with a Fed Ex tracking number. That will let you know the firearm is on the way back to you, and you will be able to track it on the Fed Ex website. When it does arrive it will require an adult signature. Looking for a grip screw for a Para double stack. Called Para and their production is down until they move into their new facilities. Brownells is out of stock on them, any Idea where I could find one? They are 10-40 threads.

I just had one built by Gary. First build for me, he was very helpful. He answered my questions quickly, and asked some questions I didn't think about. I mailed him a box of parts, told him what I was wanting. It took him less than 2 weeks, good luck finding another gunsmith that will turn your gun around that fast. What I got back was more than I expected. It's still new, less than 800 rounds thru it. Have not had the first hiccup.
