Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. i also had the primer jerk, popping out issue with my 550b. i called dillon and asked about this a few yrs ago and again recently. (longer primer bearing upgrade). he adamantly told me that this upgrade does not help the problem. i have followed every trick and adjustment dillon recommended with little improvement until i installed a new plate dillon had sent me years earlier. smooth operation again. i am going to make a longer plate and give it a shot.
  2. I used to use a shell holder also until I read a thread on another forum how th shell holder set of the round in the puller. I'll find the thread an post it. No one was injured but his kids were near when it went off.
  3. I found my issue. I cast my boolits. I wasn't giving the case enough bell and the seating die would shave a tiny lead ring which would lodge in the die and build up over time. Cleaned all dies and problem gone. Thanks and good luck
  4. I also have the mysterious varying oal when reloading 9mm and 45acp with my 550. On my machine, when all 4 stations have brass in them, the oal is longer . If I just put a one in the bullet seating station, it seats to my preset oal. One of the other stations , it appears, reaches the of the press first and prevents the bullet from setting all the way. I have tried all ideas I found by searching this forum as well as others. All stations are adjusted per dillons instructions.
