  1. Years back I used, Remington 148 HBWC, then Speer HBWC and sometimes Hornady 148's. All old school swaged lead 148 gr HBWC. 2.7-2.8 of Bullseye.
  2. A page or two back, you can see my ordeal with sending my gun back to S&W. Mine took a new frame and had to go back a second time to get running correctly.
  3. Got it back from S&W for the second time, and everything seems OK. I'll put the old trigger parts back in and tune it up. At least I got it back!
  4. It's on the way back to S&W.
  5. I took out my Carmony hammer and trigger and put in a new 929 hammer and trigger I had laying around. I left the fiber optic front sight and Millett rear sight on. I also put back stock rebound and hammer springs. Unfortunately, the Millett rear sight took a hard whack so time will tell if that holds up. And I sent it in with no grips. Its like they just reassembled the 929 and sent it back. The cylinder drags, no oil anywhere, nothing fitted. I went thru this with my wife's 929 after a repair and had to send it back to get fitted properly. The second time back it was perfect. The repair was no charge but I paid to re-register the 929. Tomorrow I'll put the Carmony hammer and trigger back in and see if its better, but its probably going back to S&W to get the cylinder to spin without dragging.
  6. Just for completion, I got it back from S&W today. New frame and yoke and a new serial number. I had to pay to re-register the revolver, but everything else was taken care of by S&W.
  7. The plot thickens, they e-mailed me this morning and I'm getting a new frame. Not going to ask why, but now its a new gun that has to get re-registered thru a FFL. I hope the frame replacement goes better than the pin replacement.
  8. My 929 is on its way back home. I'll post back with the happenings.
  9. Thanks for all the comments. I'll call the mother ship today and get the repair in motion.
  10. Thanks, I hate to send it back, but this repair is too much for me. Thanks for your response.
  11. Would this be something that S&W would repair as a warranty issue? Or is this a wear and tear item the the owner has to deal with.
  12. Hi, I had 2 light strikes in the last 500 rounds and decided to dismantle my 929 and give it a good cleaning. When I pulled out the trigger, the pin that's supposed to be pressed into the frame came out too. I initially thought that I'll just put it back in when I reassemble the side plate, but now I looked at everything again and can see the pin is broken inside the frame. I was planning to shoot this 929 at Nationals this October and have several questions. 1.......I think I can reassemble the 929 with the broken pin. I think enough of the pin will go back in the frame hole to secure the trigger pin. I'm waiting for an Apex firing pin and wouldn't get to try this until later in the week. 2.....What's the correct way to fix this? 3......I do have a spare 929, but would like to use this one at the Nationals. Thanks, Rob
  13. Just an update on how my Glock 41 experience went. First, I shot the 41 in Limited 10 and seemed to like the 200gr bullets better than the 230 grain round nose. Seemed like I had better hits with the 200 grain bullets. Second, my holster setup worked great. I really like the Ghost pouches. Everything in the holster setup is great. Third.....I basically shot the 41 with Talon grip tape, an 11 lb NDZ recoil spring assy and an 4 lb striker spring. Only recently I found out the previous owner of the41 had a Ghost Edge 3.5 connector in it. I liked the trigger but recently fell victim to buying a Timney trigger for the large frame Glock. The installation for this Timney trigger went well, with me only having to take it apart again and slightly increasing the pre-travel for a little more trigger safety gap. The trigger with the 4 lb striker spring still lights off my primers. Because I'm an old 6 shot Revolver shooter, I'm using up all my old Federal primers. So fully seated Federal primers are probably an advantage. The 41 last season's trigger weight was around 2.5 lbs. This year with the Timney and the Red return spring, its about 1 3/4 lb. It really feels great and I like shooting the 41 when I'm not shooting my revolvers. I bought the 41 basically to use up my large pistol primers and shoot something different. Its also nice that the 41 has been 100% in the reliability department too.
  14. I hand seat the Federal primers with my older Lee Auto Prime. Both my Dillon 550's will seat small primers for the 929 100%. My 550's never fully seated the large pistol primers reliably. I've been hand seating 45acp cases since 05.
  15. I ordered 45 GAP brass back on 11/16/21 and still waiting. I shoot a falling steel match with my 625 and just wanted to do something different. I know, no advantage gained, but I bought some 160gr 45 bullets from Badman Bullets and want to see how a 160gr bullet fires thru a 45 GAP case. Might make a fun 6 shot ICORE gun.
  16. Just a final reply to what I ended up with for my Glock 41. Comp-Tac International holster for a Glock 41. CR Speed C-BAX production holster hanger. CR Speed belt. and 5 Ghost 360 Pouch Hybrid. Everything worked out well with the holster and the Glock 41 worked great too!
  17. I went with the Ghost 360 hybrid pouch. They should work really well.
  18. I understand, the mag pouches are the last part of my equipment list.
  19. Would this be the "360 Universal Mag Pouch"?
  20. I bought a Glock 41 and would like to know if the Guba Ribas mag pouch would fit the larger 45acp mag. I saw this mag will not go into my Double Alpha mag pouch. It seems that the Guba Ribas mag pouch will open up more. I emailed them and got no response. Thanks, Rob
  21. Another case ordered on July 8th just got shipped!
  22. My Springfield 1911 had a Clark front sight cut into it years back. After trying to find a fiber optic sight for it, I gave up. My gunsmith took out the old Clark sight, welded it up, and recut it for the Dawson style that goes in sideways. And then reblued the slide.
  23. March 31.....got my notice that it was entered into UPS yesterday. Mine are 160's for my 929.
  24. I shot my 625 this weekend in a match. A lot of fun shooting 6 shot, and switching over to large pistol primers helps my small pistol primer inventory. 100% for the function of the 625 and great accuracy. Got it from Carmoney years back. Thanks Mike!
