  1. Thanks Thomas. I was being lazy and didn't make it clear that I took exception to the words that I put in bold.
  2. Nothing in the rules for SCSA about this.
  3. Easy to do but use a "T" handle to turn the reamer evenly. Remove the barrel from the receiver. Go slow and clean out the cutter and chamber often while using a good cutting oil. Do not turn the reamer backwards. I find it works best while clamping the the barrel vertical.
  4. Really nothing seriously wrong with a good 15-22. I changed out the extractor and firing pin on mine and installed a Geissele SD3G trigger. I didn't worry about the weight. I was able to make GM with the 15-22 and never was there an issue with the gun holding me back, any issues were my fault. There is a plus to be able to just go to the line and shoot without having to think about reloading every time and getting back in your stance to shoot the next string. If you have a good deal lined up on a 15-22 I would consider it.
  5. He was pointing out that combining the divisions under "centerfire pistol" was a feature of Practiscore, not a problem. The divisions are also listed separately for those that want to view the results that way.
  6. Thanks for coming to visit us and shoot a match. Good luck in Mississippi!
  7. Do you know what the difference was between the 2 Kidd bolts? Did Kidd indicate that they had made any change?
  8. I'll be there, since I'm the MD.
  9. If you don't find anything with the hammer strut hitting the chassis you can try backing out the screw for the disconnector adjustment 1/4 to 1/2 turn to see if it changes anything. I had one that was too tight and not resetting once. You can access the screw through the hole in the trigger if it is all assembled.
  10. What competition are you trying to use it in? Unless you paper it as an SBR it can't be used in USPSA or IDPA.
  11. Does that mean Sig won't cover it if you do send it in? Many times they want the gun back but do cover the part.
  12. I have had and used a lot of different timers over the years. One week after I got my first AMG, I gathered up all of my old timers and sold every one of them. I own 6 AMG timers now and use them to run matches. They work perfectly and the batteries last forever. I have even tested it with a .22 suppressed rifle running Standard Velocity ammo and it worked perfectly. Alex builds a great timer!
  13. At least your fingers aren't getting pinched when you have some kind of handle.
  14. Then people will say, "why does that ICORE and Rimfire Challenge Challenge club hate PCC and centerfire pistol shooters". Just saying.. I actually did think about the Rimfire Challenge but didn't want to limit myself to rimfre only.
  15. Yep, that's the only thing that counts. I would practice shot to shot at 7-10 yards with both Alphas or it didn't count. I considered a flat 2 good under this condition. This was with everything setup perfect, you're not perfect at the match.
  16. You might give Bowman a call, their sights are some of the best built I have ever used. Not cheap though. https://parts.bowenclassicarms.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=43
  17. When peak times dropped before I had a couple of ratings that my percentage dropped below what it would take to earn them with the new times. I just decided in my head that I was going to just have to work a little harder and re-earn them, I didn't need a rule change to challenge myself to earn them back. Luckily I was still able to improve and earn them back but I can see where it would help some that due to age or other physical limitations just can't get back to the place they once were. If I was in that position I would first try to re-earn the rating and then if unable consider the option to drop down. Each individual would just have to be honest with themselves what they are currently capable of doing and choose the appropriate action.
  18. I have looked at several Briley Raptor barrels and what they all had in common was terrible machine work for the chamber. When I questioned them about it they said it is very hard to get a good cut on the liner that they use for the bore. The chamber is supposed to be a special one that is Sporting diameter but Bentz length but when I was going to try and clean up the terrible cut with my sporting reamer it just dropped all the way in so it was already bigger than sporting. The barrel still runs and is good enough for Steel Challenge but just disappointed with the quality of the chamber.
  19. Hi Zack I forwarded an email that had a couple of rule discussions. Gregg
  20. I have asked for a change to 8.1.5 because it says that when leaving the line the rifle must be flagged and if not carried in a case the muzzle must be up. 8,1,7 says that when coming to the line that the rifle must be reasonably vertical up or down. So by the rules the muzzle must be up or down coming to the line but must be up to leave the line, not very consistent.
  21. Unfortunately that is probably an accurate statement.
  22. The annual RO recertification test for USPSA is 20 questions, if you have a Steel Challenge endorsement on your RO certification they tack on 5 more questions specific to Steel Challenge. It's too big of a pain to get back if you let it expire so I always make certain to keep it current, just have to put up with answering the 20 USPSA questions to keep my Steel Challenge endorsement.
  23. I have seen many shooters stand outside the box and when I encourage them to get in and get settled but don't touch or un-bag their firearm while the painters are working they tell me that they were told that it's against the rules and they would be DQ'ed. I have herd this many times from all sorts of people so somewhere some knucklehead is telling people this nonsense. In fairness you really have to stay on top of a first time shooter to wait until the "Make Ready" to handle his firearm so it is probably a range rule at some club venues. RO just needs to be paying attention.
