  1. Like Paul said make sure the interceptor latch isn't flopping around. Brownells does offer a 3 set pack of the clips that retain it. They come as a thin, med and thick. Pick the one that holds the latch in place without wobble but make sure that it will work the entire range of motion it is supposed. If it is getting stuck before it full returns to its resting position it will cause a double feed in the gun. There is a torsion spring that is staked inside your receiver that returns the latch to the home position after it is lifted to allow a shell to load onto the lifter. If the spring is broken or compressed to far it could also cause a double feed. Hope this help correct your problem.
  2. You can also use 700x on 12ga. loads 1oz and lower. It makes for some very soft shooting loads.
  3. I run a MEC 9000G and I can interchange WinAA, STS, Nitro, Gun Club and even Federal Top Gun. I don't change my press back and forth between 8 point and 6 point crimp. I stay with 8 point crimped hulls and have no issues with the press making nice shells with good crimps on most hulls. I would probably stay away from the Win bulk Rio and Estate hulls, thie side walls are pretty thin and will buckle on you. If wanted to pick up all the hulls I shoot and get several turns on them I would concentrate on WinAA's, Nitros and STS hulls. This is just my experience I sure others may have different results.
  4. I'm 6'5" and I have the same problem. If you go online you can buy the 5.11 pants unhemed and have them fit to whatever length you need.
  5. Y'all are still beating this horse? Newsflash he died about 20 posts ago. :-)
  6. The QD top plate from inline fab will let you make any of their mounts a QD set up. Attach the QD top plate and then mount the press to the QD receiver. It takes less than an min. to change out presses and he can custom make a plate to about anything you want to use if he doesn't already have it.
  7. Sure I can later today. You want pics in or out of the receiver?
  8. Ran my first match with the A5 yesterday. It ate federal bulk the whole time with no issues. The recoil impulse is defiantly different than a gas gun with quick splits. Although the recoil is more intense than a gas gun it is a much shorter impulse and I felt it allowed me to get back on target quicker. I measured the trigger pull and it is a little less than 5 lbs.
  9. Wow I may need to delete this thread with all the butthurt that is flowing here. Sorry I didn't mean for this to turn into a shotgun debate.
  10. When browning released the inertia driven A5 it was released in a 3" version and even the long recoil system had a 3" stalker option so for several years now it has not been a 2 3/4 only option.
  11. Practice, good planning and execution are game changers for me the speed load is just a nice feature. Speed load had nothing to do with my decision to go with the A5 it had everything to do with fit for me.
  12. For those that don't know the speed load feature has been around a very long time on humpbacks it's not a new thing.
  13. Crucible Armament did the one I have pics posted of above. They milled the loading port, lightened the bolt, worked the trigger and extended my factory lifter. I am curious to see how the Nordic follower works for you. I could use a little extra room to make sure my 12th round goes in easy.
  14. No barrel warping issues with mine and it shoots slugs very accurate.
  15. I also use a ELS receiver and fork for my pistol holster. If the stage I am shooting has no pistol it comes off my belt. I have found that the forks are easier to unlock and slide out of the plates if you attach them with the forks pointing up. They will lock in the plate pointing up or down.
  16. When you get your inner and outer belt you will need the els kits. It comes with 2 plates (you attach these to your belt) and 2 forks along with all the hardware needed to attach everything. You will figure out that you only need one fork for each piece of gear you want to attach but you may want to be able to put it in multiple locations which means you will eventually needs extra plates. Hope this helped clear things up for ya. Here is a link to the kit https://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item/00080ELSKIT12/Safariland_ELS_Equipment_Locking_Kit_-_Black_Contains_2_Forks_and_Plates
  17. Yep Moltke nailed it. When it goes to bolt lock it throws the first shell loaded into the mag (or the second in the case of load 2) onto the lifter and into the chamber. I'll check the trigger pull weight on a gage to see what it is pulling now. I know it started out about 6.5 lbs. It is lighter now I just don't know how much at the moment.
  18. All the credit for this one goes to Hadley Owens aka Crucible Armament. The trigger was worked to remove take up and smoothed out. I am quad loading strong hand so when the bolt locks back the second shell on the first set I load auto loads into the chamber.
  19. So I decided to go the road less traveled on my next shotgun. I have shot humpbacks all my life and they point very naturally for me. I also think the auto load feature will prove itself valuable in a match situation. I have not shot it in a match yet but have run plenty of federal 1 1/8 oz bulk through it and it has been flawless. It also eats Fiocchi 7/8 oz. LR slugs well. I am still tweaking it to see if I can get my 1050 fps 1 oz. reloads to run 100% but I am not there yet. It shoulders well, feels really light and balanced in your hands. Also Hadley was able to extend the lifter without causing any problems with the auto load function. As far as I know that is a first, I think he did an excellent job! The flat forearm makes it really easy to quad load as long as I do my part correctly. I will update this thread as I get more trigger time with it. I'll be shooting it in a match this weekend.
  20. I am running a syrac gen2 clamp on style. So far it has worked well and not locked up but I do click it both ways after every shooting session of 100+ rounds.
  21. I agree with Pat although I have not run my belt for 4 years yet I have not had a single thing come loose or pop off. Two things I have noticed though are; the fork and plate separate easier if I lock the fork in pointing up and can push it down to release it and by melting the Velcro inside the keeper buckle it sure slides in place over the end of the belt easier.
  22. +1 for the ELS system I use it in 3 gun. Everything on my belt can be taken off. When I start a stage I only have on my belt what I need to shoot that stage all other gear gets left in my range bag. My two boys have started shooting matches now and they have their own inner and outer belt but we share belt gear between all of us.
  23. I bought one of these the last time they went on sale for half price. After a little deburring of the plastic tray where the primer enters the tube it has worked perfectly with CCI primers.
