  1. Did anyone experience the point of impact shift with occluded dot? Mine shifts to the left about 6 inches at 25yrds. When I remove the cover, it gets back to normal. I confirmed that numerous times. Can’t really explain it. For that reason I dry fire with my dot occluded but I remove the cover in life fire.
  2. He said there were witnesses. Nobody saw or heard them backing up anything yet. This incident happened in 2019. He had to clarify that on Reddit yesterday.
  3. I tried the AXG grip and sold it. It does feel and looks great but I didn’t like the recoil impulse with that grip. The legion grip could be trimmed to adjust for individual preferences but I I actually like the “brick” feel of the legion.
  4. Before any match I care about. Also you should replace them at 10k at minimum.
  5. Production - Yes. CO - Not really. The need to remove the dot to clean the extractor is my reason to switch to a different platform for CO
  6. So do your guns run with minor ammo loaded to 131 PF?
  7. My minor ammo is 165 blue bullets. 1.180 OAL. Major is 180gr blue bullets. The charge is not the same. My major ammo is around 175pf. Minor- 130pf. If you load 155 gr bullets with the same powder charge as major, I am pretty sure your PF is around 145pf. Perhaps higher. At this point I am pretty sure that the way to run minor with 10rd mags is to load it to at least 145PF. I have not tried that yet. Clipping a coil from the mag springs could be also something worth trying but I am reluctant to do that.
  8. Those mags are the ones I got. What recoil springs do you have for major and minor?
  9. To my surprise, it looks like I need to clarify what we are talking about here. 1. The goal is not to avoid shooting major PF ammo. Limited is my main division. That is why I got a SS in 40SW - so I could shoot the same ammo 2. Similarly, the goal is not to get it running with 40SW minor. It runs just fine if I load less than 10rd in the mags. The issue is how to get it running with 10rd mags while fitting the USPSA box and loaded to capacity. 3. The goal is to be able to switch between major and minor depending on the match design and take advantage between 10rd minor vs 8rd major. Sorry I assumed this was obvious.
  10. That’s my experience as well. If the gun doesn’t run with mags loaded to 10, there is no use for it in USPSA though.
  11. I have no issue with shooting SS major. There are some matches, however, where having 10rds is beneficial. So I just wanted to have an opinion. No big deal if I don’t.
  12. I am trying to get my DW 1911 running with 40sw minor loads. So far it doesn’t when the Tripp mags fully loaded to 10+1. It just too tight. The gun runs without any issues with 40 major (my Limited ammo) with the same mags. I tried different recoil springs. It helped a little but didn’t make it 100% reliable. Perhaps I have to load my minor ammo a little hotter ( 145?) Many people who experimented with this issue told me that it’s not worth it and I just should get a 9mm 1911 if I want to shoot SS minor. SS is a not my main ( or even second) division so I don’t want to invest heavily. If It doesn’t work I will just shoot SS major. What is the consensus?

    AXG Grip?

I recently got one with the brass grips to try. Not sure if I prefer it though. While It looks awesome and feels great in my hands I don’t like shooting it. The grip angle is slightly different as well as recoil. I feel I can track the TXG grip substantially better. I only had two practice sessions with that grip so far. Perhaps it’s too early to draw any conclusions but I am not impressed at this time
  14. That is not a bad idea. At least just to try and see what thickness works the best
  15. Who makes 1911 grips that are as close as possible to PT Evo grips by size? I am trying to set up my SS gun as close as possible to my Limited gun
  16. So it is over 4%. A load at 170PF during winter would not make a major PF with this temperature range
  17. 1911 40SW. What are the best options for the mags? I am still hoping to be able to shoot both major and minor assuming I get the right mags for both.
  18. Thanks Charlie. That’s exactly what I was looking for
  19. So let’s say my ammo is 950 f/s at 50degree. How much would it slow down at 90?
  20. I heard that WST powder is somewhat temperature sensitive. Does anyone have any data supporting that? I am about to start using this powder for my 40SW major loads and wonder how much I will need to adjust in July
  21. Okay, I was wrong about the aluminum.
  22. I used to shoot a TSO in limited. Just because I was a production shooter moving to limited. I also thought that 2011s weren’t reliable. I was doing pretty good. I moved to 2011 after 1 year. I wish I have done that from the beginning. TSO is alright but 2011 tracks better, easier to customize, and just better overall. The price was also misleading. After you set up a magazine with proper springs and extensions it’s going to cost you the same as MBX. Moreover, the aluminum CZ tubes do not last. I was breaking everything on my TSOs shooting 40sw. That includes rear sights and barrels. I am not even mentioning small parts. After my barrel broke in half after 20k, I said enough. I like the CZ platform. I know the gun inside out. I went through over 10 guns in various models including their open gun in 6 years. I don’t think CZ is designed for 40sw or any major PF to be as durable as a property built 2011. In short, don’t waste time and money. If you want to shoot limited or open seriously, get the right gun from the beginning.
  23. this is exactly why I went X5 for CO instead of CZ even though I have shot CZ pretty much all my life for everything else
