I'm assuming you're asking about Production or Production Optic? No, tungsten guide rods have never been allowed nor probably will be allowed in those 2 divisions. If you're asking about Standard yes go for it.
Yes, I am asking about production optics

Getting ready for the IPSC Nationals. Normally I run a tungsten guide rod in my X5 Legion. Is it still legal for IPSC?

Iron sights are obsolete. In 10 years they will join land phones, tape recorders, and newspapers. I still shoot them once in a while for some sentimental reasons. And it’s all good.
Having said that, LO should be major/minor in my opinion
-
Finally I was able to order one from PT. It’s not on the website, you have to call to order

Well, AXG grips plus lock brass are not that cheap either
It looks good

Who makes magwells that fit PT EVO grip and fit the IPSC box. (Standard Division)

And you lose depth perception. On top of that, you get an eyeache.
It does work; however, it takes some time to get used to. It took several months in my case. I was extremely skeptical about this idea for a long time. I revisited it for real after shooting a dot for a while. I think the dot helped me to improve my target focused shooting and that helped me with my iron sights while using the glasses with different prescription on each lens.

USPSA is not three guys sitting around a table at a gunshow. It's a multimillion dollar organization with highly paid staff. It's reasonable to expect the staff to be doing their job and doing it in a reasonably civilized manner.
Not exactly…. USPSA is a very small organization. Here’s the financials:

From the money perspective it’s a mom and pop shop.

Does anybody know if JJ is having any issues with his gun?

Once again the Board has demonstrated malfeasance in office.
Add to the latest DROI encounter at Nationals.
Thanks Rob for the clarifications and to ltdmstr for their insight and righteous conclusions.
What is the latest DROI “encounter”?

There is one small problem with that. Out of court settlements generally have two requirements imposed by the paying party:
- - Terms are confidential
- - No admission of wrongdoing on the part of the paying party
I do not expect Joe Rutowski to acquiesce to either of these terms.
Yes, it does not look like Joe Rutowski is doing it for money

It looks to me that LO is cannibalizing CO. Locally I see most of the LO shooters used to be CO shooters. Essentially we are splitting CO in two divisions - CO and LO.

everyone who starts on this road eventually gets a custom 2011. you can tinker and spend a lot of hours and a lot of dollars putting lipstick on a pig or you can just spend four or $5000 on a proper gun that runs. Or you can do both like most noobs do.
This. Been there.

If LO remains unchanged as a minor only division the CO is dead too, it just doesn't know it yet. Making it major minor might be a good way to save CO in the long run.
I think I agree with that

I shoot Carry Optics now and I'd shoot LO major either as my main, or at least in equal share. In their current forms, LO and CO do not have enough discriminating differences or added values. Sure, metal 2011s with big ass magwells are easier to perform with but ultimately they are both slide mounted optics, practically unlimited weight, light triggers and equal mag capacity divisions. To add value and growth potential, they have to be different enough to matter. Either make LO major/minor, or take CO down to where "carry" in its name is not a joke (G19-ish size/weight/capacity, maybe even trigger weight). I am fine with either option.
And no, I never owned a Limited gun.
This is 100% correct. Can’t agree more.

Interesting seeing how major is dying all the way across the board.
If something is popular, it doesn’t automatically mean it’s good or right.

Thinking of getting some. Has anybody had any experience with this ammo? Accuracy? PF out of Shadow 2 or X5? How hard are the primers? Any light strikes?

Nothing new in this world I guess. Quick search:

hmm good to know thanks. If both trigger were reliable did you prefer one over the other?
I do not think there is much difference.

I had to replace Atlas X-line flat triggers on my 2 limited guns with SVI. X-lines (Medium short) got bended after a few thousand rounds. My old Atlas guns were fine. Looks like the triggers that Atlas sells these days are not the same. I know several people who had the same issue.
