Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Where are "penalty props" mentioned in the rulebook? Can I also make up my own rules and declare any shot hitting a prop like a wall is a -5 point penalty?
  2. Seems everyone ignored your question. I say NOT LEGAL because clays are not authorized in pistol matches and there's no such thing as a minus 5 point penalty in the rules. Land mines are just a carnival gimmick. Might be fun, but I don't see how they can be legal.
  3. If you read post #59 in this thread he only said "In the USA, our primary tester was STI (if my memory serves me correctly, a quantity was also sent to Angus Hobdell)". Maybe you can check with STI now?
  4. If it involves a C130 and a parachute, can I be the one to tell Vince?
  5. I only spent 30 minutes putzing around the State Department Directorate of Defense Trade Controls website http://pmddtc.state.gov/ and under Embargoed Countries, Indonesia is not listed. I then clicked on "Licensing" and downloaded the "Firearms Guidance" PDF under the Guidelines column, and under Licensing Exemptions it says: 123. 17c Temporary export of firearms and ammunition for personal use - U.S. persons may export temporarily not more than three non-automatic firearms and not more than 1,000 cartridges of ammunition provided this is for the person's exclusive use and not for re-export or other transfer of ownership (i.e., firearms for use on hunting trips or sporting events). So our team could've had their handloads exported. Maybe there's still time?
  6. We have a BOD and an office full of people at Sedro who are supposed to serve member's needs and you want to make this about me?? I'm not going to Bali but +50 others are including the President. Why don't you ask all of the above? I asked a legitimate question and you want to make it personal.
  7. We all know having our own ammo with us at matches is the smart thing to do. We've known about the World Shoot for at least 2-3 (??) years. We know airlines won't allow anyone to carry more than 11lbs (??) as a passenger but that's not enough allowance. Can someone explain to me why USPSA didn't organize to ship everyone's personal ammo in advance? Even if we shipped next week it would still get to Bali in plenty of time. If we need special permission from the government, there's been plenty of time to apply. Explain this to me like I'm a 2 year old.
  8. Are we gonna analyize and research every word and syllable? I'm guessing "flawlessly" means "no squibs, no split cases, no antsy primers". If the ammo was hot, it was hot, but it worked for some.
  9. I sent an email to Vince asking him to comment on Lawman's post, and here is his reply: Lawman is Chuck Anderson, who is actually a very nice guy. He was gracious enough to loan a Glock to the Russian Team in Ecuador, and I really appreciate him stepping up to the plate when I was scrambling around trying to beg, borrow or steal guns for various people who needed them. Anyway, Chuck probably doesn't realise that the Armscor ammo available in Ecuador was their standard load, most of which was given away, free of charge, to competitors who were affected by the Florida Fiasco. I have no doubt that some of it didn't work properly but, in other cases (e.g. for Brodie McIntosh, the Australian Open Division Champion), it worked flawlessly. In any case, the Official Match Ammunition available in Bali is the IPSC Load which was formulated in accordance with IPSC requirements and components. The IPSC Load ammo was also tested in numerous countries around the world, and in numerous handguns. In the USA, our primary tester was STI (if my memory serves me correctly, a quantity was also sent to Angus Hobdell). FWIW.
  10. I definitely saw Jerry's name on the competitor list on the ws website. His name is not there now but Kay Miculek is still on the list, so Jerry not going obviously has nada to do with ammo, expense or security. As to "top shooters", what about Max, Travis, KC Eusebio, Voigt, Angus, Taran etc???
  11. Yeah, right. When was the last time you did a somersault while carrying your gun in a USPSA-legal holster?
  12. Boy, you sure are stubborn/argumentative. If I think driving at 120 mph on the I95 while talking on my cell phone is safe for me, despite what some dude told me is illegal, is that OK with you? The rules are the rules. If you don't like them, try to get them changed, but don't expect people to ignore rule violations just because you don't agree with a particular rule.
  13. So what? If a guy knows his stuff and is willing to stand there all day so that I can shoot, he needs a pat on the back, not a cavity search.
  14. If it's neither here nor there, why mention it? I also thought USPSA vs IPSC is against forum rules? Can't you just stick to praising George's class without taking another boring and predictable swipe at IPSC?
  15. Didn't IPSC already reject single-stack? As far as identical rules go, its really us having a "does not play well with others" report card.
