  1. Been using a #15 for 5 years now and cci srp solely for no less than 48 thousand rounds without a single misfire. Take that for what its worth.
  2. Slideride, started with a 6, went to a 2 then finally settled on a 12. Ipsc matches.
  3. https://ishooter.ru/en/ruzheinie-podsumki-i-patrontashi/dlya-gladkostvolnogo-oruzhiya?per_page=all I get all my vepr-12 stuff from here. They are very good to deal with and cheap for russian made stuff. Or theres 4range https://4range.com/products/search?category=572&per_page=24&page=1&q=Vepr 12 ishooter supplies 4range with gear as far as i can tell.
  4. That will be from the slot thats cut out for the extractor to ride up into as the bolt closes. Its basicaly a knife edge and if the mouth of the shell catches it it can grab and hang the shell up, leaves a nice little gouge in the front of the shell. My 1301 and my vepr 12 both do this occasionaly, my mates versmax did it in a competition a number of times on the first day until he sorted it and another mates 1301 has done it to him. I run a file over that piece now to try and lift the edge up and also blunten it. Its also realy hard to mimic the jam by hand, try running a shell into the chamber and purposely try to catch the mouth of the shell on that edge and you realise that your stars have to line up for it to happen! But come match day....
  5. As far im concerned the only time you need to be aware of where a shotguns sights are in relation to a target is when you are shooting slugs. Or shooting on the move at a brisk pace and even then you are only aware of where the sights are, you arnt aiming it like a rifle. With birdshot, if the gun fits you and you mount it consistantly then you should be taking a target focus. The gun will follow the eyes, theres no need to confirm "sights to target," if you are aiming using the sights then you are stopping the gun between plates, thats slow, keep the gun moving. As you get more experienced you will learn when to pull the trigger in relation to the target and you should never see the bead, this all hinges on a gun that fits you well and has been mounted correctly.

    Whose CZ open gun?

https://www.gunsupplies.co.nz/products/firearms/pistols/new-pistols/cz75b-gbc-darkside-open-class-pistol-9mm-major That link probably wont be of much help to you but it contains pics and info. I have to click on it a couple of times before it takes me to the correct page but it maybbe my browser playing up.
  7. This must be a uspsa thing. Ipsc has got this covered havnt they? At an official match theres a reccomended number of short, medium and long courses for the event to mix it up. Round count can only go as high as 32 and if its not an approved target then it doesnt get used, so no carnival whirlygig stuff. Besides, resetting and reshoots can kill alot of the enthusiasim when youre waiting for your turn.
  8. The AP shotshell holders are about the worst holders i have come across. You would be doing yourself a favour if you found another caddie that suited your needs. Just saying..
  9. I was given some to try a couple of years ago when i started out in 3gun and I havnt tried any other brand of slug since because i thought that all slugs probably shot as well as these b and p things but i figured it was just easier to stick to what was working. Maybe i was onto a winner without even knowing.
  10. If you prep the grip correctly it wont peel off. It needs to be cleaned with alcohol thoroughly and heated up, i use a fan heater to heat the grip and the grip tape cut out and then apply it, work the air out of it and massage it on, while heating it of course. Then roll the edges with the shaft of a screw driver or similer, that seals it. You can do it with the frame on but its easier if its completely stripped down. Try and find the coursest tape you can get. Getting solvents and oils on the grip will reduce it to mush and it will lift so you have to be careful when cleaning. I change mine every 3 months and its a pain but it gives you a fresh new grip at the end of it. The permanant silicon carbide jobs wear down just like the tape jobs, but theres not alot you can do about it once it does. I imagine you can get it off buts its more work than just changing a tape grip out.
  11. I ground a beveled edge on the tip of the guide rod that was closest to the comp so it wouldn't rub but that wasn't what was causing the rod to rotate. The first time I ever pulled the spring off the rod, when I removed the paper clip and eased off the plug, the rod torqued in my hand like it was under load from the spring. Thats the only time its ever done that and my problem never occurred again. So I can't give a difinitive answer other than pull the spring off the rod and see what happens. I have a theory but I can't really put it into words well enough to explain why. Its not a common problem as you may have found out but I think my problem was caused by the spring putting load on the guide rod as it compressed and the rod just twisted with the direction of that spring pressure.
  12. The mount on my trubor came loose the second time I shot it, like push on the cmore and the whole mount was rocking backwards and foward. New gun from the shop. I just assumed that sti hadnt done it up. Blue loctite lives on it now with witnessing marks on the screws for a quick visual. Broke a link at about 2000 rounds as well.

  14. No. If youre shooting low with a centre hold you need a lower front sight, or a higher rear sight.
  15. Pivotheads work realy well for pistol shooting, not so much for rifle and shotgun though and theres no mounting involved. But as someone has said already, having a person stand back and film you is more beneficial for finding areas to improve your shooting. www.vimeo.com/user44488928/videos
  16. Sounds like hes threatened by your shooting abilities. If thats the case then youve already won the mental game! Enjoy the snide comments, feed off of them and take pleasure in the fact that the better you shoot the more pissed off he will become.
  17. Yes its an australian powder, sorry should have mentioned that. I figure that it may help someone out if they search for ap100 loads in this forum, as i have tried to do in the past. You guys dont see many adi powders in the states?
  18. 8.8gr of adi ap100 using 124gr frontier flat points at 1.253" and cci small pistol primers, no flare no crimp no set back. Powerfactor is sitting at 168. Does the job. Got some 3n38 to try as well as it seems to be popular. I use super cases, not comp. Welcome to the wonderful world of open guns.
  19. The quality seems to have downgraded itself. Oh well.
  20. My pivotheads turned up a few days ago. Realy like them, they dont seal over my muffs, probably due to my narrow face so i have to wear plugs as well. The airsync works and does as described. Very happy with them! They dont have a good view for shooting with a rifle if it has optics, theyre ok for shotguns. The view is great for pistol though. Heres a tester from a stage i did yesterday.
  21. Nice! Can anybody tell me what your tube length is? Is it a +8?
  22. Get someone to load an unknown number of rounds in your mag, maybe between 4 and 9 rounds then shoot a close target bill drill styles. What happens to your sights when you finaly get to the click?
  23. I have an sps 170 for my trubor in 38. Its completely stock standard, holds 27 and locks in on a closed slide. Advertised as holding 29? Happy with it and will grab some more of them in the future, no issues so far.
  24. DAA racer for my trubor. Locks up hard and is comfortable to move in. Glad i got it because i can haul around a stage like a cut cat knowing its going to stay put. Was using a bladetech doh for my shadow when 3 gunning but they flop around too much and i was forever conscious about the gun falling out even though its not going to. It made me adopt this kind of bizzare running style, kind of like a cross between a duck waddling and a shuffle. Wasnt pretty! Another bloke with the same setup was doing the same thing! Its fine for ipsc but i didnt like having to do much moving around with it. Yet another member found the same thing happened to him with his sti and hes gone to some safariland race type holster. Not sure of model.
