  1. I'd rather save for a couple months and buy the real thing than support a Chinese company's blatant theft of IP. That being said, you will most likely find out why they are a fraction of the price if and when you buy them. They might look the same, but the quality will not be. Buy once/cry once.
  2. you'll run out of numbers that you've heard of counting that up. If that Dan Wesson works, you are going to see a lot of 2011 builders "discontinuing models."
  3. I do not believe they are the same. I believe the "button" on the rear is different size and I know the diameters are different at least on the commander length guns. Edit to add: It might be an age of the gun type thing too... the more time that has passed since the split, the more SVI seems to change their proprietary specs.
  4. Roger that. I figured it was a "hey we need 24 rounds in a mag for this carry optics thing" sitch.
  5. It really is astounding that the engineer that designed the 24 rounder wouldn't walk over to Coley's office and ask whether a 150mm 24 rounder served any purpose at all.
  6. I wasn't sure of the particulars, but do remember being an out of towner who showed up a bit too early and being charged with designing a stage!
  7. We've had a match near me go away for a while due to those in charge burning out. It's coming back next month. My local club discounts entry fee fairly significantly for setup crew. Get there by 7, check in with the head guy, set up a stage or two, get the discount. Everybody tears down their last stage. The match I've shot in Memphis has an interesting approach. Maybe @MemphisMechanic can add more color to it, but it seems the MD only specifies a number of targets on a bay. I. E. Stage 1 must have 13 paper, 3 steel, and 4 no shoots. The rest is left up to the crew on that bay to figure out. Average in the general area is $20-25. I'd pay $40 to shoot and scoot.
  8. I've used 0000 steel on blued finishes with no ill effect.
  9. I like the safariland hanger a lot... wish I liked their holsters as much.
  10. If you've been shooting for 20 years, it's just another gun. Same fundamentals apply.
  11. I'd find a NOS or preloved Trojan. There's a 9mm for a steal of a deal on the classifieds right now.
  12. shipping has gotten ridiculous on everything.
  13. I do not think they made weight without some help, but that is neither here nor there..
  14. More opinions from page 1 of the glock sub forum...
  15. I use the glockstore variant on my gen 5 17's.
  16. You will probably still want the dawson base pads. 47d's and ETM's both set fairly flush to an ICE magwell. They will be much easier to seat with a dawson pad, but technically, they will work without the pad. The Dawson IPSC magwell is shorter than the ICE, cheaper, and fancy base plates are optional.
  17. Make sure you are going to a good box with good coaches, first and foremost. Like shooting, golf, tennis, BJJ, whatever... all coaches are not the same. I wouldn't plan on doing 3 days a week plus additional workouts at your local globo gym. Go slow, go lighter than you think you need to, check your ego, and get after it.
  18. I hope Talledega earns the opportunity for more national level matches after IDPA worlds and Single Stack nats next year...
  19. That was the point that he's trying to make. That doesnt accomplish what he is looking to accomplish.
  20. I have a few cases of the Syntech 115 from the huge rebate thing that Federal did a couple years back.. That stuff is fairly spicy.
  21. I've pretty much got to the point where outside of specific trigger control dry fire drills , i am only prepping the trigger to the wall in my dry fire. I am not doing multi shot drills.
  22. That's like $14 worth of brass... don't get in too much trouble.
  23. The Racer X I have is the smoothest drawing holster I have ever had. I never liked a race holster until that one.
