I'll back up what everyone else is saying here.......the beta is legal BUT can throw you in a different division. Best bet is to check the rule set at the particular event you are attending. Having said that, you should definitely consider adding a D60 to your kit if you haven't already!!

You may want to look into the JP SCS. You can use it with either length buffer tube, springs can be changed and weight can be added/reduced. Super quiet and offers lots of flexibility. Definitely give the AR Gold a look before you settle on a trigger.

I've always ran Briley or Carlson. Gotta have a Diffusion for the close stuff, a full for the crazy heavy, small or long stuff and an IC for everything else. That would get you through 90% of the stuff you'll ever encounter.

I always zeroed at 25 with slugs but of course checked them at 50, 75, 100 and 125 yards to at least have some idea of how much drop you will see at those distances. another thing to consider is what slugs you are using. Some of the heavier and slower ones will of course have a little more drop. The 7/8 aero slug always worked well for me......worth a look if you haven't tried them.

Try this next time (3 gun): Break the stage down as different parts. Look at it as a stage for each gun instead of one big stage. Its easier to keep track of the number of rounds and targets to be engaged this way, or at least it was for me.

All of my open division rifles have 3.5 moa c more sts on the old burkett mounts. I've tried a couple different things over the years but this seems to work best for me. Mounting on the rear of the the receiver (closer to your eye) is the way to go.

It's a matter of preference. I think if you look at the lengths of the barrels you would see at almost any match you would find that there is no "right" length. Some guys don't mind the added weight of say a mid weight 18 inch barrel whereas others may think its too heavy. On the other hand, some guys don't mind the recoil of say a shorter, lighter setup with say a mid length gas. Just depends on what you shoot best and what "feel" you prefer. That said, I always felt that I shot an 18 inch gun that was a tad on the heavy side better than a shorter/lighter gun.

I have to agree with the majority here.......go with the 1050!! I started on a 650 and bought a second one a year or so later. I always thought that was "good enough" but I finally broke down and got a 1050. Needless to say, I regret not purchasing the 1050 when I started. Until you have experience with both you don't realize how much better the 1050 is. That being said, ignore the price difference and just go with the 1050.........you wont regret it.

I have been wet tumbling for the past couple years and what I found that worked best was a food dehydrator. I bought a couple that has 4 stackable trays that allow you to load up a decent amount of brass. I tried drying in the sun, using a heat gun and even putting them in the oven. The dehydrator is just simply easier and more effective. Wet tumbling is definitely more labor intensive than dry tumbling but man it produces a nice looking piece of brass!!

+1 on the double sided infinity mount. I have been running them since they became available and haven't had a single issue. Definitely sits back farther than all the others I have seen.

6 or 8 MOA is best for USPSA. Probably a safe bet that 95% of whats out there are one of those two sizes.

I've tried most of the rests mentioned in this thread and I have to say that for me the Nitro Fin suits me best. Its all a matter of preference. Even though the Nitro Fin is small, it feels good in the hand and mimics the "natural" placement of the thumb better than anything I have tried.

What is the twist rate of your barrel?

Its actually a pretty common practice......I have known a bunch of guys to use two different bullets. With my rifles and a 200 yard zero with the 77s, the 55s are pretty much dead on at 50 and 100. At 200 they are an inch low. Take into consideration that the 55s I am shooting are relatively slow compared to most other factory 55s. You may find those numbers to be totally different depending on the velocity difference in your heavy/light bullet.

I've used the 308 trigger in both a JP GMR and an MPX. Knock on wood.......no issues. None. Works great.

AR Gold. Been shooting them for years and they have proven to be the most reliable trigger I've ever used.

JP 18" Medium Contour with Black Hills 77gr. TMKs is a great combo for once you hit 300 and out. I use 55 gr. bronze for everything 200 and in but switch to the TMK when you need to hit something AND move it or knock it over at distance.

Who here has used 165s for Limited Major? Looking for some thoughts as to how it compares to 180s.

I have two 5.4 Infinity sight trackers and have probably went through 20 lbs of N310 with 180s since I've had them. Shoots great and yes, Brandon recommends it.

RTS2 gets my vote. It is a trade off though (from a slide ride) so I think its more a matter of what you get used to.

Depends on what you are doing with it. If you want it heavy, Magpul PRS is a good one. If you wanna stay light then a CTR with a riser works well.

I threw a rifle together last week and took it out to do a little testing. Shoots great.....Runs reliably.....Accuracy at 100 yards is laughable. At 50 yards it isn't terrible but at 100 about a 5 inch group was the best I could come up with. I've tried a few things to narrow down the problem but I am curious what some of you guys are seeing accuracy wise at 100 yards and what barrel/bullet wight/velocity combo seems to work.

Am I reading this right? You can use a "standard legal" box fed shotgun and after the start there is no restriction on capacity.
