  1. Cool, keep us updated. Also, I’d be interested in knowing the weight of your parts from the GS if you have a scale.
  2. Could they refund themselves with the 526% markup?
  3. I only have experience with the minus and TTI. I always liked the minus in Gen 3s but prefer the TTI in Gen 5’s. It has more of a wall which I like.
  4. And it’s big! Not that that is a bad thing.
  5. There is no buy once , cry once optic. The SRO is the closest I’ve heard of so far but in your case, you have a DPP mount. The DPP is a fine optic. Use that as a starting place to learn what you need in an optic.
  6. My 2 Thug Plugs weighed less than 1.5 Oz. An e-mail to the GS when unanswered and a call resulted in a “we’ll check in this”. At least they fit well in the Gen 5s. I wish the plastic Pearce plug I just bought for a 19 fit the same way.
  7. I’d go DPP just for the larger window. They all will fail at some point.
  8. I use case lube. It ends up making my elbow and shoulder hurt if I don’t for marathon loading sessions and the press runs so much smoother with lubed cases. I’d get a cheap cookie sheet and lay the cases on it to keep the spray lube on the outside of the case. A light spray on one side is all I try to accomplish.
  9. Yes, definitely don’t get another RMR for USPSA unless you are just using the matches for defense practice. The larger windows are helpful. I have DPP’s but that’s mainly because of price and the SRO wasn’t available when I started.
  10. Wow! That sounds like an adventure. Thanks for sharing. It never hurts to let others know that sometimes things go sideways and we need to be prepared.
  11. You didn’t even get a nice video for the ‘Gram?
  12. I have the same issues with my Gen 3 mags. They simply would not work over 30% of the time with my minor PF 147’s when loaded to 23+1. I started loading a factory 115 in the barrel followed with my 147’s and now it works fine at the start. Also, my TTI springs quit locking the slide back on 3 of my mags after just a few thousand rounds. I just bought ISMI 140mm springs to see how they work. I’ve installed them but haven’t shot with them yet. My followers would clearly be bellow the top of the mag with the TTI springs.
  13. The minimum is what will put the gun in battery and keep it there. You go up from there and most of it is subjective based on what you like and how your perceive the recoil cycle.

    downside to MOS?

I have not but it doesn’t seem like a structural part. I think you’ll be fine.
  15. Since that post I’ve discovered that the gun works fine if I start with a factory 115 at about 133 PF in the barrel and 23 of my 147’s in the mag. There were several 22-24 round stages at my last local and I started this way with no issues. I’m in the process of loading my last 1000 147’s then I’m switching to 125 BBI’s. I’m not sure how much of the problem is bullet weight vs PF but I needed to switch to coated bullets for cost savings so the time seemed right. A side note is that most of the mags aren’t locking the slide back now. I plan to order ISMI 170mm springs to remedy this but haven’t found anyone with 8 in stock yet.
  16. Denato broke it down how I see it also. I know you didn’t ask but Steve’s podcast have really helped me with the mental aspect of USPSA. If you aren’t listening to the podcast then I’d recommend that you start. You can’t beat the price.
  17. Anyone with the Johnny Glock trigger that is also familiar with a nice 1911 trigger care to compare them for me? I’m not sure the issue but I’m just not as happy with my polished G34.5’s trigger as I was with my G34.3. I’m thinking about ordering a trigger.
  18. Yep, I’d say they missed this call. We’re blessed at my local club to have very smart and capable people running and helping to run the show. It would take almost all of the fun out of it to have to deal with some of the situations I read about on this site.
  19. I think removing that front sight will get you below the limit.
  20. Production is too close to Limited already. Higher mag capacity would only make that worse. If Production dries up at 10 rounds then it’ll be because of the loosening of the rules and not the lo-cap.
  21. I really like the Bluetooth in the Peltor 500’s. I use when running any power equipment and listen to music. I also have the 3M gel pads on both my pairs of 500’s. You just peel them off the factory plate and stick them in the 500’s
