Would it be possible to get more pics and details? Maybe some build notes? Does it still fold? I'm using this, for Sporting Clays, three flats of shells on top, hulls underneath, but I really like your structure better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

so no problems when you shot these? all went bang without issues? No problems so far Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For rifle I only use standard small in 556 but they work fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MEC 9000 and done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've loaded 5K or so no problems yet and the price is great. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Think of different hulls as almost different calibers. Shotshell loading is more technical than metallic, you have hull differences, powder difference, wad difference, primer differences, shot volume and weight, stack height to consider as it changes your crimps. You can save a lot of money if you shoot premium factory loads now but compared to promo loads you can't. The advantage comes from tailoring loads to your needs. All the info you need is available from components manufacturers online. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You're right but it was $200 I never thought I'd see again anyway Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I understand there's little to no cost saving due to component cost but I have a huge amount of components and enjoy the process and if the press is free my first 6500 or so rounds are a time only expense Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry for the beat to death questions but a friend of mine owes me money and has offered a Hornady 366 or a MEC 9000 as compensation. The MEC is new in box and the 366 is real clean but it's just the press in 12ga, no accessories. I reload metallic on Dillon's so new to shotshell but not reloading. I'm shooting about 5 to 6 hundred rds a month. Any opinions which way to go? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hey all! New guy, but have reloaded .45s with my 650 for years
dolton916 replied to hobo's topic in Introduce Yourself
Yep load the 223/556 with a 650, UNLESS, You buy primed brass. Then the 550 will be fine. I have loaded 2k at a time on the 550, takes 3 to 4 hrs, primed brass of course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
For me it was buying my first pistol, came with a 1 year range pass and the day I bought it I put 650 rds of WWB thru it. Realized the pistol purchase was the easy part. Saved for a few months and bought a RL450, and started loading, that press purchase hurt but I was single and could get through it. That press has loaded well into the 6 figures and stills sees use. It's been joined by a few 550's and a 650. I'm fortunate to no longer have to reload but it's become something we all do as a family. It's part of a range day. I reloaded then to be able to shoot at all, now to shoot what and how much the family and I want to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Dillon XL650 time saver?
dolton916 replied to Hoosiershooter's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The cost is putting me off a little. But I figure it could be worth the time savings./quote] Your children will be glad you bought a Dillon when they leave it to their children. The Dillon is a once a lifetime purchase, it's nothing when you consider how long you and your's will have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
I'll try those, the AA light recoil shells didn't want to cycle the gun 100% at 980? I think, so the 1145 should be good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks gentlemen I was using AA Super Sporting Clays 2 3/4" 1oz 7.5 shot, my usual trap load. Just about three times my usual daily shot count. I'm using a second gen Verona SX405 auto. I was told I'll need a mag tube extension and that a Rem 1100 may fit it but I haven't investigated it yet. The recommendation to hit the gym is right on. This is tougher than it looks! Thanks again! I had a offer to play on a 3 gun course locally in a practice setting, and I think I may be hooked. I used my FNX45, a 20" .223 wylde AR, and my 28" 12ga semi. They're what I had at the range with me. Question is after a case of 12 ga. my shoulder wants a divorce. What is the preferred method of recoil management? Lighter loads? Mechanical? Simply heavier gun? Learn to hit the target so you don't shot as much? I currently don't load shotgun but with my son and I doing this would it be worth the time to try and develop a load? I understand that the guns used are not ideal but I'm hoping to not start buying dedicated guns if I can use or lightly modify what I have. what I have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

RL 550 B Roller Handle Poll
dolton916 replied to benos's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
The bend is the secret, I'm 6'3 and the stock lever required me to bend over to cycle the handle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
1050 and newer style Bullet Tray / mounting ?
dolton916 replied to benos's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Line it with adhesive backed 1/16 closed cell foam from the craft store. Comes in lots of colors and takes the noise away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Another question for dillon?
dolton916 replied to rustybayonet's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
I just buy the powder measure and tool head from Dillon its $103 delivered or from the local shop $98 not worth the hassle of having to change pieces, just swap the heads. I leave the presses set up fully stocked so changing the powder hopper is too much work for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
How do you decide which brand to go with for presses?
dolton916 replied to johnson184's topic in General Reloading
There are presses other than Dillon?[emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Dillon machines, Lee decapping/sizing, Dillon powder dies. Redding mic seaters and Lee roll crimp for 45ACP. I don't crimp 9 or 223. My .338 lapua, 6.5 Grendal and 7mm use all Redding sets. For gauges I use the tightest chamber barrel I have for each caliber, except for the 223 Wyldes, Those get built for each gun separately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Is reloading therapeutic ?
dolton916 replied to Hammer1's topic in Dillon Precision Reloading Equipment
Totally therapeutic for me I can turn my head off from my business my employees and customers etc. Compared to my day job I could load in my sleep, so to speak. It's like digging a hole vs designing the structure to be built in it. No contracts no technical issues no babysitting a winey customer or tech. Presses are always set, just walk up and go. In my mind I hear the beginning of Pink Floyd " Money " as the machine starts going. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
