  1. What G Code holster are you using?Sorry. Didn't see this til now. This is the G Code setup I have. I mentioned a bit more about it in the other 2011 Holster thread a few posts down.http://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/XST/XST-RTI.html With this belt mount: http://www.tacticalholsters.com/product/Accessories/GCA30.html Edit: Fixed the links. Looks good. Thanks
  2. I have been shooting USPSA for a while and i've decided to get into 3 gun at the end of this month. I currently have a blade tech belt high holster as well as the drop and offset attachment. I'm just wondering what is used most, a holster that is belt high or one that is dropped and offset? I'm shooting a Glock 35 if that matters
  3. Yea I thought about that but it cants in even when there is no gun in it.
  4. I've recently switched from a bladetech owb holster with the belt high stingray loop to the drop and offset attachment. I haven't worn it in a match but I have tried it on. I noticed that the bottom of the holster is canted towards my leg. Is there a reason why it is like that?
  5. As stated in post #2, practicing it over and over again is the best way to do it. How long it takes really depends on the person I think. When I dry fire I usually draw anywhere between 50 and 100 times. It doesn't take long at all to get that many draws in either, i may spend 20-30 mins 3 times a wekk. I think you should start off slow to get the new motion down and slowly get faster over days/weeks. If you try and go as fast as you can right off the bat, you will probably end up going back to your old way.
  6. I don't reload so thats all i buy. I shot production for my first year of shooting with a Glock 35. Atlanta Arms loads a 40 minor which was perfect so I didn't have to shoot major loads while everyone else is shooting 9mm minor. I shot those minor loads and a shooting buddies 9mm and couldn't tell a difference. As far as I know they are the only company that loads 40 minor. I started shooting limited last month and I have been shooting AAA .40 major and Freedom Munitions 180 grain .40. I borrowed a buddy's chrono and got about 170 pf which is perfect for limited. I would love to get into reloading and it makes more sense cost wise and I will do it one day. But I also like to be able to call up a company and place and order when I need some reliable ammo. I wouldn't say there are really any benefits other than from what I hear its hard to find components for reloading and that can be a hassle, especially if you are loading up ammo for a match.
  7. They don't happen to be the new SOG pants that they are selling at walmart are they? I've looked at them but couldn't find any reviews. If they are one in the same i may pick up a pair based on what you say.
  8. I've bought several types of "tactical pants" to shoot in mainly because they are more comfortable than jeans to shoot in. To me they allow for more movement especially when running or having to squat down for a shot. Also as stated in the above post, they get all kind of stuff on them and tears and its better for me to have a pair of pants or two for this specific purpose. Plus they just make you look like you know what your doing!
  9. I would keep my eye out on the classifieds for some used ones. For new ones this is the best price i've found at $21.95 each. http://www.gtdist.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PartNumber=GLOCK-MAGS
  10. It really all depends on how you like to carry and draw. Many uspsa shooters like the drop and offset like a bladetech while others prefer a bladetech that rides belt high. It all comes down to personal comfort. I would say that since you have the ability to make them yourself, make a few of each and see which one you prefer.
  11. I've never shot any other way except with my finger in front of the trigger guard. I've tried putting it under but to me it is much more uncomfortable.
  12. I hadn't even thought about looking back and the world shoot. It will be nice to have them side by side.
  13. Thats nice not to have anything in your field of view.
  14. Are there any positives/negatives to full frame glasses or partial frames?
  15. I saw this on his facebook page today. I had been keeping up with it and he had enough of a lead that I figured he'd walk away with it. I wish Max would have stayed to shoot it or Grauffel would have gone and shot the Gator so we could've seen them up against each other in open.
  16. Yep exactly. I declared C for a match and then moved up in classification before the match. Told them when I got to the match but they told me whatever classification I was in the database is what i would be for the match so there was no need to tell them.
  17. For those of you that have shot a pro am, what is the dominant caliber used? I'm guessing since there is no power factor, its probably 9 but I've never been to a match or heard much about them so just wanted to see what yall say. Watching the video of Grauffel vs Vogel in the pro am finals it looks like Grauffel is shooting the same tangfo as he did at the worlds, and it looks like Vogel is shooting a 34?
  18. I agree with slapping the trigger on the 2nd shot. The first shot for a lot of us is more controlled because we are more focused. Then we probably slap the trigger on the 2nd shot because we are trying to be too fast. I agree the bill drill with live fire would allow you too see how your shots are landing and show you what you need to focus on.
  19. Sounds like, if your first shot is an A, that you're firing the 2nd shot without confirming the sight picture. Fast 2nd shots are not as important as fast movement from target to target. I agree as I tend to do this as well. I focus well on the 1st shot but then firing the 2nd shot too quickly and before i get a good shot picture. I don't noticed it with targets within say 10 yds but after that i will see a lot more C's that i want. We just have to understand that we can't let your body move faster than the speed at which we see the sights on target.
  20. I would like to see them (Eric, Ben, JJ, etc...) shoot together in a bunch of matches over the period of a year. It would be interesting to see how they would match up over 8 or 10 matches. I think by doing this we would all be able to gauge them against one another a lot better.
  21. I have to disagree. Top athletes have better vision and eye/hand co-ordination than I have - by a large margin. And reflexes & strength. I could fire 250,000 rounds/year for 3 years, and never be at the GM level - I just don't have the "natural ability thing". I'm improving, and having an absolute blast, within realistic expectations - think I might have a chance at becoming an A shooter one day - but, never a M or GM. I think its a little of both. As you stated Jack i think there is some natural ability when it comes to hand eye coordination and seeing targets faster. Pair that with 50-250k rounds a year and you would be at the top of your game.
  22. The good thing about our public ranges in south georgia is that there isn't anybody there watching us and the rules are pretty wide open. Besides shooting a .50 or tracer rounds we just have the basic safety rules. I have a really nice range on some public land and most of the time i am the only one there. Numerous times i have been able to set up a mock stage and run through it. Its nice to be able to have that for free.
  23. I've recently started using the DOT drill. It makes me concentrate on recoil and getting the gun back on target faster. I usually do it several times when I go to the range. Then i set up a standard ipsc target starting at 5 yds and see how fast my splits are shootings A's. I progressively move back. As i move back i will have more A/C than A/A but will take that depending on how fast my splits are. Its a give and take between speed and hits. Name of the game!
