  1. We get our brass after everyone has shot the stage. The shooters who want their brass will stay and get all the brass they can/need as long as there isn't another squad waiting. There are not a lot of shooters who pick up brass at our local match so there is usually plenty to go around for the folks who reload. As long as you are doing your part, pasting, scoring, running the timer, nobody will say anything about your getting brass.
  2. Glock 34 Carry optics gun. 3" difference is a lot. What distance?
  3. Yea i agree with you both but I can only get a case of it. If I could buy a box I’d shoot it and see. But I Don’t want to spend the money on a whole case and have to re-zero the dot if the point of impact isn’t close.
  4. Whats the difference in the point of impact between the 9mm 115 grain vs 124 grain. Say 10-15 yards. Is there any? I've always shot 124 and that is what my dot is sighted for, but I've come across some really cheap 115's and if the POI is not any different I will pick it up for practice ammo. If there is a discernible difference I'll stick with my 124.
  5. I need a little clarification on classificaiton. Are you automatically classified one class down once you are classified in one division. If you are a B in limited, does that automatically make you a C in any other division that you choose to shoot? If you are, do you still have to shoot 4 classifiers or are you a C by default? I always thought that only worked when you made GM in one division. I am a B in Limited and production but have started to shoot carry optics. I don't have enough classifiers on record to be classified yet in CO. If I go to a Level 2 match, do I sign up as U or C? Thanks
  6. This is exactly the way I would have said it. After getting it down I still set my par time at 1 sec and shoot for that. The way I look at it is that most of the time during a stage my reloads will be done when I am moving several steps so they won't be consuming time. Classifiers are a different story as most of them are stand and shoot with a reload on some.
  7. Yea they are well worth it. You can buy 3 at this point for what one glock mag and an extension would cost. The last round hold open isn't 100% reliable but in carry optics it hasn't been an issue
  8. You can also get the magpul 21 rounders. I just picked up 2 for $15 each at primary arms. No issues at all with these

    Apex Trigger

Anyone used an apex trigger? Does it make a difference? Worth the $100
  10. I put a springer precision dovetail mount on my 34 so I could try out carry optics. I figured this was the cheapest way to test it. If you get the slide milled you are stuck with it. If you notice on the MOS version the dovetail for the rear sight is set very back of the slide. This means a lot of aftermarket rear sights will hang off the rear of the slide. I've got about 3k through mine with the dovetail mount and haven't had any loss of zero. I shot mine up against a buddy who has the same dot on an MOS and the height difference between mine and his made no difference in my ability to pick up the dot. I'm going to stick with it the way I have it until I see a reason to do otherwise. You may want to give it a shot too.
  11. I was asked why choose the 34 over the 17, I figured why choose the 17 over 19. To me the larger gun can’t be negative whether it’s iron sights or a dot gun.
  12. Yea what is the advantage of the 17 over the 19 in carry optics?
  13. I don't know how missed that. I wonder why he went with the 17 as opposed to the 34?
  14. Does anyone know what model KC Eusebio's carry optics gun is?
  15. Thanks man I think I’ll give the ff3 a shot
  16. How is the dot on the ff3? Is it more of a dot than a splatter (if that makes sense)? Is the 8 moa dot effective in uspsa? Good enough for 25 yd head shots or is it too big?
  17. I finally got to look through a 3 Moa venom today. It was much smaller than I expected. I've notice that the dot on the venom is not real sharp, kinda distorted if that makes sense. I'm guessing the more expensive dots probably have a more uniform dot
  18. Anybody have experience with a 3 moa venom that could chime in? Does it show up ok in the sun?
  19. Is the 2.5 Moa dot easy to pick up even in bright sunlight?
  20. Do you mind telling me what gun it is on? I looked through a Glock 34 with a venom and it felt like i had to tilt the barrel up quite a bit to find the dot on the first shot. The ff3 I shot this weekend was on a Beretta 92 and it was very easy to pick up on the first shot. Don’t know if it’s th difference in grip angle or just me. The ff3 seems to have a much larger window than the venom
  21. Just shoots mine left, should have added that in.
  22. What is the preferred moa on the dot for for carry optics? I shot a Burris ff3 this weekend with an 8 moa dot. It was easy to see and I didn’t feel like it was covering too much, even at 25 yds. Are the smaller dots easy to see even in bright sunlight? I know some of this is personal preference but I’m just interested in seeing what is most widely used
  23. I have. I know an M class shooter that shot glocks for years and shot them left. Switched guns, made M and still shoots glocks left. I agree that technique is probably the major issue the majority of the time, but not always.
  24. I installed the sights myself. I actually have them drifted slightly to the right side of the slide to overcome the shooting left issue. It has to be an issue with the gun. I have the same exact trigger and sight set up on my Glock 35 and it is dead on at any distance out to 35
  25. I’ll try that. I may just put an optic on it and say the heck with production and shoot carry optics!
