  1. That would mean the Cesar-shop part being sold for the Shadow 2 is not in fact made for the Shadow 2, false advertising. So they must be selling the normal Rami part for the SP01. The slide catch must be filed down to fit.
  2. It's not moving around in my hands, my left hand simply sits on the slide stop in natural grip position. Therefore it is pushing the slide stop up constantly, turning my pew pew into bolt action. Allows me to control the recoil exceptionally well compared to others. Google Bob Vogel and that should clear up the confusion on proper grip. M in production currently...
  3. Exactly... NROI... Hence why I tried on here. Thanks
  4. My left hand grips too high and far forward so that I accidently push the slide stop up when shooting. When I shot a Tanfo .40, I used the pin henning makes. For the Shadow 2, the only way it will work for me is to use the Rami part (thin). Using that Czechmate pin I just found would be ideal, the less in the way the better.
  5. I would hate to show up to a level 2 and be DQ'd for not understanding 21.6. I would agree with you, Red_Dot, based on that info. Just want to make sure as production can be tricky. Another thought, if I were to use the pin, that would cause the slide to close on an empty chamber/mag. Does the slide have to lock back in production? I did not see anything in the rule book, so I assume the answer is no?
  6. Great, thank you. So that means both the aftermarket slide stop and the pin would be USPSA production legal then. Or does it have to be a part made for the Shadow 2 to be considered aftermarket? Or can you use aftermarket/factory parts from a non production approved gun (such as the Czechmate pin)?
  7. Question for those who have more knowledge of production legal parts for USPSA. This slide stop ( https://cesar-shop.com/product/cz-shadow2-ts-short-thin-slide-stop-rami ) is being sold for the Shadow 2 with the Rami name. The original Rami slide stop is too small for the frame of the Shadow 2 and requires modification to fit. Someone had said that this one is larger to accommodate the larger frame (no fitting). This leads me to believe this is not from a Rami but is a manufactured part instead. Would this be part be USPSA production legal? Also, CZ makes a slide stop pin for the Czechmate. ( http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/047000801604_Czechmate-Slide-Stop-Pin-No-Lever ) I am not sure if it fits in the Shadow 2 (I think close enough to TS), but this would be my ideal set up for my gun. Is this part considered production legal? Thanks

    CZ Shadows 2 is coming

Is this modification USPSA production legal?
  9. Honestly no directions needed if you have a set of safeties that were already installed and working. Just mimick the shape and angles a little at a time and work it in. Took about 30 minutes.
  10. Got them fitted in there with no slop and an extra power spring to help insure no accidental bumping. Makes a world of difference in my opinion. I can get my hands much higher with comfort now. Took just a little shaping to match the ones that were in there. Thanks for the help.
  11. Very informative thread. Thanks for the link, that is what I was looking for.
  12. Just picked up a set of the Ultra Thin Safeties for my Shadow from Cajun Gun Works. I haven't messed with them yet, but I know that it usually takes some fitting to get right in the Shadow. Has anyone done this themselves instead of giving it to a gunsmith? Looking for any pointers/tips/directions that goes into the fitting/install of the thin safety set. Thanks.

    Which sp01?

I have been contemplating this as well. Can't decide between a target II for $1450, get a tactical and do it myself, or find a used variant on here. I hear that they all are very similar when done right.
  14. Will order the pin here shortly. Hopefully gun will run 100% now. Thanks for the insight guys.
  15. 1st off its a "tight fit pin". Depending on the gun, you will need something pointed to push it out, mine are so damn tight i need a hammer and punch. 2nd, the end of the pin is not round, it's like a half moon, and has a depression on it. the slide stop spring falls in that depression, keeping it in place. it won't come out its own. based on your issue, this is the fix you need. you wont have the slide go to side lock anymore at all, so make sure you know your round counts. However, if you're going to slide lock on a stage, you've probably already done something wrong! Gotcha. Makes sense now. Much appreciated sir.
  16. Racingjoe: negative ebg3: the pin will replace the current one and not protrude out? What keeps it in place then?
  17. Tested 3 different types and loads all ran no issues. I was correct in the fact that my left hand (I am right handed) forces the slide release to engage with the way my hands and grip are. I played around and just cannot find a way to change my grip to prevent this without loosing strength and wrist set. Not sure what to do about this honestly. I do not see a way to "fix" this without buying a new gun. Has anyone else experienced this?
  18. Ah ok. Wouldn't the slide go forward without a round instead of locking back? Maybe I am misinterpreting.
  19. Sorry guys, crazy weekend and back to work this morning. I am using a U-die. Brass does not seem to be bulged. Bullet forward in mag insterted into frame does not make contact to slide release. No issues extracting... So its not the extractor tension..? I may have found the absolute dumbest answer to this issue. I was doing some dry fire practice and noticed my left hand placement of my grip is beneath and against the slide release. I have some big meaty paws. Possibly while shooting, my grip bumps the slide release up, locking the slide back and not allowing a round to chamber. I then tap the bottom of the mag and it chambers. I will be heading off to the range sometime this week to find out if that is the issue or not. Sounds like a new gun if that is the case. Lol Has anyone else every experienced this? This is the first gun where my grip has ever interfered with the slide stop. Thanks for all of the insight again, it is EXTREMELY helpful.
  20. I am not sure, I haven't been able to experience the jam while not under the match clock. With new springs and followers I cannot imagine nose diving? My concern lies here: k10 mags with 1.185 oal had this issue. Whole new k40 mags springs followers loading to 1.135 to start then 1.125 to solve issue and both lentghs had same issue. So both 10mm/.40 mag set ups have this exact same issue which leads me to believe it is something besides the mags and ammo.
  21. Maybe I'm missing something here, but to clarify again, the round does not go into the chamber and stop, it doesn't make it there when this jam occurs. By hitting the bottom of the mag, I force the mag up and force the round into the chamber. So I am not seeing how the ammo could be the issue? Hence why I asked about the mag release not holding properly. I really appreciate all of the insight and knowledge here. It's mighty helpful guys.
  22. Factory magwell that comes with gun. Basepads are same ones from k10 mags, I thought they were universal? Brand new followers and springs for k40 mags If the mag wasn't seating properly wouldn't the first round not chamber after firing whats in the chamber? For example, on start of first mag I shoot 4 rounds, 5th jams. Rest of mag is ok. Reload, 9th round down jams. Etc It is not like I put a mag in and it does not chamber right away. I will pick up a case gauge.
  23. After hitting the mag, the round chambers with no issue. I have a very light crimp and I highly doubt the crimp is catching on the lips. I am using grams followers and springs and old school henning base pads with the set screw. If I had to guess I would say on average this issue occurs 2-3 times a stage. I do not know the case mouth diameter off hand and am at work.
  24. I do not case check, I am using once fired stainless steel cleaned brass that is practally new and extreme 180gr RNFP. The round won't exit the mag into the chamber without me having to tap the mag. So I don't see how it could be the ammo?
  25. To be honest guys, I'm about ready to start looking for a 2011. I love my tanfos but the issues are causing me headaches and matches. Here's the deal: I was having trouble with my Limited Elite .40 using 10mm mags and loading long. The round would not always chamber, locking the slide back and forcing me to smack the s*ht out of the mag to get it to go. I bought brand new k40 mags with new springs and followers to solve this issue. I started loading to 1.125 and the first match I used with them I had no issues. The past two matches, the same exact issue has occurred with the round not chambering and having to slap the mag. There is no pattern to the jams and they have occurred using every mag and at varying capacities within the mag. At this point, I have ruled out the mags being the issue. My local friend and gunsmith mentioned that it may be the mag release being worn, causing the mag to drop slightly but not fully releasing the mag, only causing a jam. What do you guys think? Or is it something else? I personally am dumbfounded and out of time to troubleshoot. And does anyone has a new mag release for sale? Thanks
