  1. The DT10 is a great shotgun - I've owned one for many years. As some have hinted at, Berettas don't always fit folks out of the box (but really, what shotgun does unless you are dumb lucky). As much as I loved by 682E, the DT10 is a step up in my eyes.
  2. I too have never had an issue with the a shell getting caught - however, I did send my whole gun to Jeff for the lifter, opening the loading port, etc. A friend tried to duplicate my gun by purchasing parts and installing himself and I can tell you his gun is not the same. I'm not sure exactly all got done to my gun, but there are some little tweaks (cleaning up of edges, fitting, etc.) that were done while my gun was down there that you won't get if you just purchase a lifter and throw it into a receiver that you opened up. While I don't think you need yet another recommendation for Jeff - he's got it from me.
  3. Surprised no one has suggested G-Code XST series. I have been running ALS holsters a long time, and while I like them, the retention release on the XST is straight down making the draw more natural. This assumes you want some form of active retention and not just friction.
  4. This may be a stupid question, but were the tabs on the lifter where the pin goes through the firing group square? I've seen two or three lifters come back from the welder with a slight bend, causing the lifter to not be centered in the port. It is not significant, but just enough to alter where the shell is placed when the bolt slides forward.
  5. I had the same issue with mine and sent it back to Remington to fix - they took care of the issue (tapped one size larger) for all the screws.
  6. There are some .40 limited available in my town. If anyone is still waiting, PM me and I'd be happy to put you in touch with the FFL.
  7. Excited to see the revival of a national three gun match in Minnesota! Jay and Jomar always put together a great matches.
  8. To help those wondering, I was told they had a batch of guns go out configured for international shipments, however, they were for domestic sale. That is where the confusion came in and why some folks got 126s in place of 140s. If you got 126s, call STI. My replacement mags arrived in 3 days.
  9. Update: Great chat with the folks at STI. It appears that it was an error in shipment. If anyone got the 126mm by mistake, give them a call. STI customer service.
  10. I picked up my DVC 9mm today - everything looks great, except for the mags being too short. When the DVC launched STI advertised 2 - 140mm mags. If you have looked at their site recently they changed the spec to "two magazines". Sure enough mine came with 2 - 126mm mags. Did anyone get 140's? Crappy that I pre-ordered, was delivered 4 months late and get screwed on the mags.
  11. Thank you for the update Dustin, understanding that you are doing this on your own time. The little bit of info you provided is more than enough to keep me happy.
  12. I want to echo the prior comments, for 1,500 you can get a quality OU. Citoris or a 686 can be found in the price range and can accommodate a left hand cast.
  13. I wonder if beretta knows that someone stole thier name.
  14. Has anyone found a replacement that want from remington?
  15. I want to echo Mark's comment about the gas block. On my Nordic barrel, I put on an adjustable gas block but needed to leave it wide open. I've switched out to a standard .750 and threw the adjustable block on a gun that could use it.
  16. Is the SBE port the same as the M1/M2 port? My M1 doesn't look as long as my VM but I have never took a tape to it.
  17. I shoot 3.6g of WIN231 with 147 FMJ (Zero) out of my M&P 5" and average 915FPS, so backing off a tenth or two wouldn't be a bad idea. Any reason why more people don't use 231?
  18. I have a enough WIN 231 on hand to do my first batch of BBIs. I've been looking for Solo, N320, etc. but have been unsuccessful. My Hornaday and Lyman's manual don't have any tables for Win 231 w/ a lead 147gr. At a match this past weekend, a respected reloader suggested that it would work fine. I've scoured the forum and couldn't find any suggested loads for Win 231 with a coated bullet. So is anyone? Are there any suggested loads? This will be going out of a M&P 5". It doesn't need to make PF, but it'll need to knock over steel.
  19. I had a similar issue and it came down to a rifle with head spacing on the very high end of the gauge (it wasn't actually out of spec, but was very close on a mil-spec go-no-go gauge).
  20. If you want to save some money on the trigger, but not give up performance, look at the CMC triggers.
  21. Frog Lube will have the same problem, it might actually be worse. Finding a good cold weather lube is tough - that's why I run mobile 1 all winter and switch to others in the summer. There aren't too many choices to run a gun wet in winter.
  22. I have seen some people have old and grease caked in the pistol, causing a ton of stiction (and act as a major magnet for dirt). Are they factory mags? Is he running a mag well or base plates?
