Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I tried different recoil spring weights and Aftec extractors still having occasional failures to return to battery, maybe once in a few hundred rounds loading long about 1.15"
  2. my dvc 9mm is having feeding issues with Tripp Cobras and Dawsons too, did the EGW mag catch fix the feeding issue you were having?
  3. I sometimes shoot Limited and 'monster matches" with the same gun and love it. Blew the barrel because of a double charge and fitted a Barstow and like it even more. Trigger work from Canyon Creek - about 2lb pull
  4. I've got a flat steel version and like it a lot It is as close as I can get to a 1911 flat trigger feel that I'm used to from my years in single stack Get one in steel and take your time minimizing travel
  5. removed a bit of metal under the sear's arm - safety works perfectly now, thanks all
  6. perfect, that's what I was looking for
  7. Xtreme titanium hammer. I can engage manual safety when hammer is half-cocked but when hammer is fully-cocked sear turns counter clockwise a bit (while looking to the left side of the gun) and does not allow the safety bump to move under the sear arm. I was looking for pictures but didn't find any. I guess I just need to remove some metal under the sears arm.
  8. I have installed an Xtreme one piece sear block in a Stock II and can't engage a manual safety when hammer is fully cocked. What kind of modification need to be done to a one piece sear for the safety to work?
  9. Australian factory had been reportedly burned down couple years ago, but Clays is available again and it is now made in Canada. Looks like price went up though - I bought 4lb jars for $95 at Green Top
  10. 3.8gr of Clays or 3.85gr of N310 makes about 170PF with 230gr coated Bayou or Blue Bullets in my STI Trojan 1.25" OAL
  11. N310 for 45 with 230gr, N320 for 9mm minor 147gr "mouse farts"
  12. SPP is my answer lo them "lost brass" matches Bumping a powder charge by 0.1 grain for SPP always worked for me and I almost always use cheap Tula SPP
  13. My favorite is N310. Clean, meters extremely well, minimal standard deviation, low recoil, no smoke with coated and lead bullets, low muzzle blast. Followed by Clays - meters ok, very soft recoil, no smoke with coated bullets and relatively clean and American Select - training ammo, soft recoil, meters so-so and kinda dirty. Titegroup has pressure spikes, lots of smoke with coated and lead bullets and heats up the gun a lot.
  14. you may be looking over the sights rather than through the sights, that would result in consistent low shots. Instinctively you would try to get a better picture of the target but you need to learn to shoot and move while looking through the sites not over.
